OTG - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

Does the PH-1 support OTG? Thanks

Supposedly it does. I've not tested it.

I can confirm that it does https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aPTCWR94Agnbyb35Lc3SpzvYFNlCiJ9K/view?usp=sharing

no prob im glad it supports otg using my ps4 controller with emulators has been awesome

The fact that it uses a headphone adapter with a DAC means it does.

USB OTG

Interesting! Just poking around the kernel config for the nexus S and it would appear the USB OTG support is enabled by default.
Hmm! This could be interesting!
It could be very intesting
Alright, I'll be the one to ask. What's OTG?

USB.Org USB On The Go FAQ
Can anyone confirm if this indeed works?
OTG
Looks like this was looked into in Febuary as shown in this thread. The hardware is there but there might be some problems with the wires missing. If so, then some brave soul could connect (solder) the wires into the place.
https://groups.google.com/group/android-kernel/browse_thread/thread/e05a737708e2585a
did a quick search for otg on the nexus s forum and posting this to raise awareness for ezkeel's kernel. He is asking for testers with otg cables to help him test. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19926148&postcount=748
Very cool stuff. Thanks.

Transformer's HDMI Jack as an INPUT for onlive gaming service

Is there any app that can use the HDMI Jack as an input so I can use the onlive gaming service on my Transformer? I would love to play high end PC games on my tablet.
By the way if you guys haven't heard about onlive, you should look it up immediately.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
After doing some research it looks like the mini HDMI jack on the transformer is output only. Oh well I guess ill have to wait for an official onlive app so I can play the games.
Wait... I just find it hard to believe I can't stream video to my damn tablet.... with either another pc or network drive of course.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
You can, but over the internet.
Really sucks. This could a great way to stream Netflix to your Transformer from your Netflix capable device.

I can't believe there isn't already a hack for this. We have all these genius dev's. I'm trying to think of the best place to post this question to get the final word on it.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
It should be a hardware limitation. The hdmi port on the transformer is built to output. It will nevet take input signals. Just like how TV out can't become TV in.

hehe, some people thinks things that plug in to holes correctly should always just work together
I don't need a signature.

Is that why man are attracted to woman's holes? LOL
Yeah I really don't think we are too far away from it being live for us. They have already demoed it on android tablets and just built a controller that will connect via usb or bluetooth specifically for non-pc users.

USB host like Tab 10.1?

I see that with a cable adapter, the Tab 10.1 can host USB (meaning you can plug common USB storage into it). Can the Tab 7 hardware do this?
Yes. there are good reasons to believe this, but the software is still work in progress.
With ICS, there will be USB host, the ICS roms in the dev section are showing a great deal of promise, so the short answer is; "Evenually, yes."
If developers still support us, we should be seeing it soon.
I've asked the same question on the ICS thread since the listed working features include USB host. However, not much people seem to actually have the adapter, so we don't have anyone who can test it.
I'd buy an adapter to try but if it doesn't work, I have no knowledge to help them make it work.
usb adapter
I have bought an adapter, it did not work. The tablet did not recognize the adapter or the usb stick. I waiting to find out there is driver which can be added or if there are any other options available.

USB OTG don't provide power to connected USB device. Use USB device with external power like USB HDD or active USB hub.

It probably needs to be recoded for the hardware in the S4. Ask in the One forum if it works on the One - might just need a kernel hack.
Sixaxis works for the S4 and touch emulation has been fixed also. So you are good to go now, I am using it myself.

Yes I use a gameklip. Now I am looking for a good S4 mount. My current mount works for the Note 2 and doesn't close enough to hold the smaller S4
