Hey guys,
I have some problems with my Mate 8. Even when the call volume is maxed, I can barely hear the other person.
I have the NXT-L09 version, rooted. I tried editing the mixer_path.xml but it showed as empty ?! (and the permissions looked a bit weird lrw-r-r instead of rw-r-r ; is l for locked?)
Do you have any ideas on how I can increase the call volume ? Or can someone provide me with his mixer_path.xml ?
Thanks

In in call volume on this device seems really low. I found the instructions below (which I have done) not made any noticeable difference.
Do these instructions only apply to Speaker Phone and Headsets or do they work for a normal phone call too (none hands free) ???
1) Make sure your phone is Rooted.
2) Using Root Explorer or Similar Navigate to /etc
3) Press the Button "Mount R/W"
4) Longpress on the file "hwVolumeFactor.cfg" and Open in Text Editor.
5) Change the values for "speaker=" and "wired_headset=" settings that are popular seem to be "speaker=90" and "wired_headset=75"
6) Save & Exit.
7) Restart your Phone.

Yes, it's too low for me if there is the slightest background noise. I have done that tweak and have noticed no difference.
It would be great if someone knew a fix or this.
Hoping someone will be able to come up with a solution. . . . .
Hi everyone,
I have recently bought Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I am located in Mumbai (India). My service provider is Vodafone. I have attached a screenshot about the details of my phone like version, build etc. I am facing a weird problem. Whenever I am on call (whether i have made a call or I have received a call) the call volume gets reset to maximum everytime. I have tried to set the volume at mid level using the setting icon that is present on the right side of the call volume bar but in vain. My adapt sound is disabled.
Please tell me what can be the issue and how can i resolved it.
Thanks in advance.

I bought a p9 lite last week and found an issue with the ringing tone volume. I always receive calls in maximum ringing volume even its set for medium volume. I noticed that this issue only happence when it's in my pocket or in my locker. When it's on the table volume works as I set. But it really annoying when I receive calls in max sound when I am at work. Plz help me with this. Is it a bug? There's a pending update which I have not done yet. Will it fix this issue? (But patch details don't mention any fixes regard to this issue) plz help.
It's not a bug. Lowering the volume lowers the volume of notifications. Open up the volume dialogue and at the bottom is the slider for the calls. Cheers!
It's called Pocket mode. You can find in the Dialer/Settings/Pocket mode, it's not a bug .
Hello All;
Has anyone noticed a very high incoming call volume while using WhatsApp/Skype ?
While there was a bump in the volume after update to 8.1, it has been unmanageable post the update to 9.
It is so high that I have to keep the phone away from the ear.
And this is not even in loudspeaker mode !
I have disabled MusicFx, just to see that if that will also help.
Any clues, anyone ?
Thanks
Shyam

Hi guys
I have any problem with the volume level when i speak with the phone. I have set the max volume, but i listen very low...i think that it's a software problem next the last global update. I have 10.3.6.0. any solution?
Tnx
I've just bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7; volume received on phone calls (without headset) is terrible, I can't use it anywhere that's not very quiet. MIUI 10.3.6.0. I've found lots of references to the problem with many Xiaomi phones, but not yet found a solution. I think the workaround is a headset, not great, or use speakerphone. All sound volumes are at maximum; there is no "phone volume" as such, but pressing "volume up" during a call does nothing. The usual response from Xiamo has been to run hardware diagnostics, but everything checks fine and there's no way to change things. Another suggestion from XIaomi is to backup the phone onto their cloud, factory reset, and try again; user who did it reported no improvement. I can't in all honesty use the usual sign-off HTH (Hope This Helps)

Test a kernel with soundcontrol and a kernel manager like darkness . Think the Evira have it in his build.
