Hi I am Rupesh from India and I have lenovo a3000 brought on March 2014. I want to install stock ROM on this device.
*
Up to two years I have used it nicely and after that I heard about custom ROM so I have rooted the device and installed super user app and from that time all the problems created one by one such as the device performance was very slow etc.,. Due to the above problems I have formatted the device in cwm recovery manager and after that I tried to flash custom ROMs downloaded from XDA but failed to do so many times. Four days back I have taken the device to unknown technician and he installed some aosp original ROM with twrp recovery manager but the device performance is again slow and so I have again formatted the device in twrp recovery manager and tried to flash custom ROM but failed.
*
At present I have installed lenovo downloader *and Qualcomm driver's and tried to flash in lenovo downloader but again failed. Finally I have installed latest version of lenovo moto smart assistant and connected the device in fastboot mode but the above app failed to detect the device and even I am unable to enter device name in the app. After that I have downloaded original stock ROM from lenovo forum and copied firmware folder contents to ROMs files of lenovo smart assistant which is located in program data folder of c drive after that I clicked complete button in smart assistant but there is no progress.
*
At present I don't want to install any custom ROM etc.,. Can you please suggest how to make my tab work as when I brought it I mean how to flash original stock ROM on the device.
*
Regards,
Rupesh.

As there are enormous bugs in the lolipop ota update for lenovo a6000 and a6000 plus I decided to revert back to Android KitKat.
Note: (For advanced users only) Go ahead if you have a little knowledge about flashing a stock rom.
1. Here is the link for the tutorial to revert back to KitKat for lenovo a6000 which also works for lenovo a6000 plus with some extra efforts
(although there is QFIL, flashing through the lenovo downloader is recommended as well as easy)
Mod edit: Link removed
Flashing requires a UPS backup or a laptop which won't shutdown in the middle as this process requires 6-8 mins
Done for Lenovo a6000.
IMP Note:
i. Do not unplug the usb cable if after plugging in the phone in download mode the adb interface driver is not installed by windows and flashing is started. Its normal.
ii. In lenovo downloader it will seem like the flashing is stuck after some seconds but it is not so the flashing is going on so DO NOT UNPLUG THE USB.
iii. In lenovo downloader in the step tab only the firehose is seen but it doesn't mean that flashing is stuck. Let the process finish without disturbing the USB cable. It will require 6 to 8 minutes or 15 minutes max.
Now futher steps for Lenovo a6000 plus:
This flashing will make your lenovo a6000 plus into lenovo a6000 and won't display ram and rom properly in device as well as your computer when connected via USB.
So for lenovo a6000 plus after flashing the lenovo a6000 stock rom:
2. you need to boot into cwm by fastboot https://youtu.be/giBK8LsL-Ko
3. and recover the cwm backup from the cwm recovery http://techolaty.net/lenovo-a6000-plus-stock-rom-cwm-backup/
4. Reboot your device from the same custom recovery after the restore is complete.
5. First boot will take up to 5-6 mins after that do a factory reset from the settings menu or from the stock recovery. If you don't perform a factory reset you will see your internal storage as 4.33gb only.
Video guide
All firmware updates work for Lenovo A6000 as we have flashed the original stock rom of lenovo A6000.
But as there is no stock rom available on the internet for lenovo A6000 plus, The minor firmware updates wont work for Lenovo A6000 plus it gives a status 7 error even after flashing the stock recovery, however the lollipop update gives an error status 14 but works fine.

You dont need recovery backup to restore from recovery., You can flash the whole ROM all the way
this is too hard, but there is a simple way to revert back to kitkat

Please help??. Not booting in stock recovery also.
Hi all
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I have access to a 2nd Jiayu s3 3GB on android 4.4.4
I've never been able to connect my Jiayu s3 3GB using SP Flash Tools (some driver issues?)
My Jiayu s3 was running android 4.4.4 and when ever it felt like it, it would freeze and then reboot.
So, like a bull in a china shop.....i factory reseted (included format storage option) which now doesn't allow the phone to boot..
The phone won't boot - it starts and just sticks on the Jiayu (white logo)
Thankfully...
if i start the phone with volume up i see
Recovery Mode
Fastboot Mode
Normal boot
I've just tried Recovery mode... and i remember i set my Recovery mode to be TWRP (4pda version)
..and thankfully i can now access the recovery module!
I can also access the phone via fast boot.
i can now access the phone via ADB also - via the recovery mode - i can launch the shell and query the phone
what i would like to do :
change all the partition tables to accept android 5.1.x
flash via adb all the sections needed to install 5.1
After you're all done laughing at me .. can i please have some help?
Cheers

Nothing to laugh here, hapens to all of us. Did you try to falsh a custom 4.4 rom through recovery. You can find them on needrom. Flash that and see what happens.
Regarding flashing 5.1.x you need to atleast once flash 5.1 rom through sp tools, without that its really hard to get 5.1 running on this phone due to changed partition layout from 4.4 to 5.1
Regarding the driver problem, every problem has a solution, try to google how to properly install mtk drivers on your pc, and its fairly very easy to install them. Cheers

Hi
Some jiayu revisions need both Volume buttons to be pressed when connecting to PC
Install spflashtools
Install drivers
Download sptf Rom
Open flashtools
Press download ( choose upgrade mode if you are on KitKat and want to go to lollipop / future MM )
Turn off phone
Press and keep pressed both volume buttons
Connect cable pc-phone
Cheers

Hi all,
I need some help please. I have an ASUS zenfone 2 laser 6 ze601kl. Came with a CN rom. No Google play services, go them installed using a google services installer. Trouble is, Android Wear dropped out and lost the watch details, backup failed randomly, google play services randomly crashed, play store etc. Wife wasn't too happy with me. Plus the random chinese apps updating and popping up with who knows what.
Current ROM CN_1.16.40.1715_20160623
Goal was to install a new WW rom which hopefully had working and stable google play services. Cannot install WW rom as it's CN - recovery error.
* gained root with KingRoot
* Debug mode on
* Unlocked bootloader using ASUS boot unlocker. Tried recovery, selected update from SD, same fail.
* installed ADB and fastboot (1.43) on windows 10 - nope, ADB recognised but always said 'cannot load <filename>.zip. Didn't matter which ROM or version.
* Tried to fastboot a new recovery and boot img, almost bricked it. Recovered using a CN ROM recovery and boot.img from
I have now:
* installed TWRP v3.0.2-5, which doesn't let me update to any ROM at all (WW official, WW rooted, resurrection remix etc)
Current error with UL-Z00T-WW-1.16.40.1524-user.zip is
Device SKU:
OTA image SKU: WW
Please use the right SKU for updating...
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file 'path/filename.zip'
Can't install Marshmallow WW ROM - says
Can't install this M package (tues sep 27 <time>) L less than 20160426 build (date/time)
Can't install RR Rom
Comparing TZ version TZ.BF.3.0.C3-00025 to ZT.BF.3.0.R2-00064
assert failed: asus.verify_trustzone("TZ.BF.3.0.c3-00025") == "1"
Basically I'm stuck, I can't use ADB (I did reinstall Windows 10, ADB still can't read <filename.zip> on my PC), and I can't seem to install any rom and get rid of teh CN ROM which I really, really, really want to.
Help?
I still can't change ROM's, however I can flash nano GAPPS (anything bigger tells me theres not enough space in the system partition).
Does anyone else have this issue with changing CN rom to WW or other?
Z00T - can't install any custom ROM
Firmware issue: Solved:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68328880&postcount=2291
Hi, I have the same or similar issue. Did you solve yours meanwhile?
Did I mess up an essential drive in my Z00T or do I have a problem with a version? Although the stock ROM came with the full load of google bloathware-**** - so it's likely not chinese.
What happened:
I tried to recover an old CM13 nandroid backup from a similar Z00T (ZD551KL) on a replacement device.
Unfortunatelly (?) I usedeach and every drive twrp offered me for this backup and I put the recovery it the same way. The rrecovery image is installed with no problems. However, when rebooting I end up in the bootloader mode. If only system or system and data are recovered, the device freeze at the ASUS logo.
Beforehand I made a nandroid backup of the stock android 5 system installed via twrp (i mixed several twrp, it could be 3.0.0-0 or max. 3.2.1-5) on my new replacement Z00T. I can easily go back to the stock-ROM backup - this works really fine - from each of above twrp after each and any failed other attempt.
Now, when trying to install either a lineage 14.1 (i still have two builds on my SD card) or a 15.1 I found somewhere the same error occurs: "Updater process ended with ERROR: 7 Error installing zip file 'path/filename.zip'". On my old device at least one of those 14.1 zips worked fine and the machine was updated to 14.1. So the ZIP is likely not corrupted.
I erased the device check in the install-ZIP by changing the "lineage-14.1-20180625-nightly-Z00T-signed-edit.zip\lineage-14.1-20180625-nightly-Z00T-signed-edit\META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script"
This however leads to the error message "Invalid zip file format" - nothing get's installed.
Any ideas what can help?

Extract using PC
Now copy extracted folder in TWRP folder of your phone

Just flash latest NON-HLOS.bin through fastboot
Then install any rom.

when booting into the stock lolipop rom installed I can see that the device is the A6000. I find it strange how the recovery doesn't write which device it is on this error message.
What am I missing here? Usually with other phones, as long as you manage to install a custom recovery then it's a breeze. I cannot figure out how the custom roms don't get installed. Any help appreciated
Managed to flash it in the end. The flash files contain assertions checking if the zip is okay to be flashed on the device (whether the model is the one intended for example).
I found it strange that the error message did not show the model of my device as I was 100% sure it is a A6000 and that is a ROM intended for it.
I ended up overriding the assertion in the file, which seemed to be straightforward to do and the image was flashed without any issues.
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME unless you are 10000% sure the image is intended for the device. ?
