I am using A5 2015 and i have issues with mobile data. On 3G it often gets stuck on "H" with only the upload arrow blinking and i have no connectivity until it turns back to H+, which can sometimes take up to 3-4 minutes. I also can't make or receive calls while this is happening. I tried rooting my phone and disabling fast dormancy but that didn't help. I also tried swapping out my SIM but no luck with that either. I've also seen this issue on a friend's S6 edge on different carrier.

Hey folks, I noticed that on my At&t samsung focus that the connection often doesn't switch down to edge when 3G is at no bars(tested-no data). And I know that areas I visit often have edge coverage because i can turn off 3G manually and get good reception... but any insights/solutions as to why the focus doesn't automatically switch bands/connections? radio bug?
edit: I did do the hsupa/dpa release hack via diagnosis console.
This also bugged me. In my experience this is not limited to the Focus. I encountered the same issue with the Tilt 2. It took probably a complete loss of 3G signal for the phone to switch to Edge and then even though the Edge signal had 2 bars, as soon as it got just a trace of 3G signal it went right back. Fortunately with the Tilt 2 I am able to turn off 3G and the phone stays in Edge all day long in areas where 3G os crappy. I wasn't able to do that with the Focus.

I'm having these problems as well and I also did the hack. Since then I keep getting cannot connect messages in IE. It was so frustrating that I undid the hack(?) and this happens all the time. Can someone give me the settings to make sure I restored the original settings.
Hi all,
Not sure if this is a problem as my network is upgrading to 4g, but recently I have on occasion seen h+ as my data signal but the phone will not connect at all. No Internet. Emails won't sync. Nothing. I have found that a restart seems to sort it out or flight mode toggle. This didn't always work though. This has only happened recently.
Anybody else have this problem, could it be the network upgrading? (Although I have only seen 4g on my phone once in a different location and the speed was not exactly great, I have seen over 20M on H+ and 4g was about 10)
Getting a 4G signal doesn't necessarily give you good speeds. 4G in our country sucks. I get 4G signal often but my speed still hover around 0.1kb/s up to 1.2mbps, but most of the time it's only < 600kb/s. Fastest I get is only 10mbps, that is around past midnight when everybody is already asleep. And yes, I also get H+ and 4G signals with 0kb/s speed.
The speed was more an observation than anything else, the issue is the fact that I have a network signal, I have H+ being displayed but no connection, as it sometimes clears with a toggle it would point to a phone problem surely?
I also experience that, even with my previous S3.
Guys I have the same problem. I just swapped from S3 to S5. I wouldn't like to change s3 but loosing connection was happening more and more often. Usually I was loosing data signal and only solution for that was rebooting the phone. Once I had to restart it 3 times in a row. Now I have S5 since almost two weeks and I noticed that sometimes I have H+ but I can't use internet at all. It's really annoying. Is it a problem with operators or phone? I am with EE now in UK but I had s3 in Orange.
I have saamung galaxy s5 g900f.my phone show h+ on stausbar but no internet in my room but when im on my hose roof internet is back.i have also s2 gti9100 same netwark fast internet on my room and my house roof. Help Help help

this phone has started playing up, 4G wont connect at all and 3G is constantly changing between H and H+. Phone calls dropping and battery draining fast.
Have tried factory reset
flashing older Samsung firmware
Nothing is making a difference. Tried my SIM in another phone and it instantly connects to 4g.
This only started about two weeks ago.
Any one else have this issue? i'm in the uk on the 3 network.
UPDATE: it appears the 4G radio is faulty - setting it to 3g only solves the issues.
UPDATE : I'm so gutted that this phone 4g/3G is ****. Love the phone but loads of people and reviews suggesting 4g/3G issues with this phone and high number of call drops. I did a test today, I put my sim in an iPhone 6 and instantly connected to 4g and speed test was through the roof peaking at 38mb. Put the sim back into the s6 edge plus and only connects to 3G. But unable to browse the Internet. This confirms my fears that the 4g chipset/antenna are ****. In this phone. Which is a real shame as the phone is my favorite ever. Going to get an iPhone now. Connectivity is the most important thing and I can't be dealing with this crap from such an expensive phone. Shame on you Samsung.

I have the exact trouble as yours whichs about constantly changing between the H and H+. (4G is not matter, its new around here). When it turns on H, doesnt connect any site and application which need data connection. But H+ is doing normal. I bought an unlimited data package is provided for up limit 7.2Mbps. Dug something and saw that HSDPA(H) technology's up limit is 7.2 for our carrier. Then bought limited turbo data package(shows as up limit 43Mbps) but still changing H and H+ Thats not such for current device. It was in such an annoying situation since H+ available to connect. Tried to force use H+ but no luck. Sorry for long article and bad grammar. Just saying. Thanks.

Been doing a lot of research and it appears to me that this phone is crap at holding 4g/3G signals. I think this is a hardware/design fault. Most people won't release this until they test this on an iPhone in the same location and see the huge difference. Can't believe Samsung would release a huge pile of crap.

Couldn't agree more...
I don't have this problem mine is actually reverse. I have better signal and faster Internet than my Samsung s5
Recently my s7 edge appears turned off when people try to call me. Then after a while i get the text saying someone tried to call me but the phone was off (but it was actually on). No problem making calls. It's not that you can represent it, it is totally random and not too frequent but enough to annoy me.

Does anybody know if this is a hardware problem? a bug ,or is it the carriers fault :fingers-crossed:

This used to happen to me too, i think it was because of carrier and coverage, especially when 4G signal is low.
What i found helpful is keeping my device on 2G only when on Wi-Fi or don't need high speed cellular data.
I use this app to have a shortcut of 2G/3G/4G switch in notification panel, makes switching between 2G and 4G easier.

thanks for your input.
Thing is i NEVER use mobile data, it is off all the time and the apn list is empty (no profiles), i only connect using wifi. Does that still have an effect ?
I hope it is a coverage problem

It doesn't matter if you never use data, device can still connect to 3G or 4G (though in some cases an APN may be needed to connect to 4G, that depends on carrier). In your case, since you never use cellular data, you can safely set your device to 2G only. With 2G you will have better signal for sure, and it's less likely to have missed incoming calls.

I've had the same problem with a Galaxy J7 2015 also bought in the UAE.
Again not too often but enough to be annoying. I found that selecting 2G/3G without LTE improved the situation.

i think mine started after getting G935FOJV1DQAV csc update
Dears,
whenever I am on a call and then hang up or finish the call, I cannot surface the internet or even make a call after hanging up for a while. I can see that there are packets going to 4g but no reply "upward arrow but no downward arrow that is near 4G icon". It is sending data to 4g but not receiving any response and
also, after finishing the previous call I can not make a new call unless I switch on airplane mode and then switch off or restart my S8 to work normal again.
To revise and better understanding this issue:
1. the S8 works normal and can communicate to Internet and receives calls
2. the problems starts after ending a call, the S8 cannot communicate with the network for a while Internet and calls
3. temporary solution is to go to offline mode then online or restart the phone
4. then it will work fine "Boring Solution"
I am facing this weird problem since day1 with my samsung S8.
any advice?
No body has faced similar issue ?
I have no issues, on At&t.
I have no issues too. I roam a lot with data on. Different carriers within Asia. All ok.
Maybe try reset the carrier "access point names"?
Are you under power saving mode?
i got my S8 it worked fine in start (or i might have not noticed it) but then i observed it used to turn off sim cards (did not catch any signals) as i go out of 34 or 4g covered area. it did not work on 2g. i got i fixed from samsung care. and now i am having weak signal issue. Voila -_-. Going to get it fixed "AGAIN".
I have too signal problum internet and sim service. Very poor.. but when was i buy then it was perfect . After use 4 month its conditions make me very thankless. If any person who know about that issue plz help m
