Games under Froyo - Graphical performances?

Hi guys,
can someone tell me if anyone has posted some video showing how good are the graphical performances under froyo with games like Asphalt 5 or similar.
Maybe someone has already found a comparison...
You know the benchmark are only numbers, but I need to know how these numbers are applied in the real use

ye, I also want to know the graphical perdormance of desire under the 2.2. Because Asphalt 5 get little stuck in the 2.1.

Asphalt 5 won't get any better, it's a very dirty port from the iphone version to Android by Gameloft... they didn't spend enough time on it.

yeah, all games should work fine now on the desire, with or without froyo. Don't forget the desire has a 1ghz cpu much greater than the iphone which is around 400mhz. Any game that struggles with framedrops is due to bad programming. I remember Raging Thunder 2, which also had a lot of framedrops in their earlier version. Later on, they updated the game code and the game now works fantastic.

Its not that simple. Snapdragon is faster than the iPhone CPU for general purpose processing but the GPU in the iPhone is faster.

But still what pina says is true: I mean, Asphalt 5 looks crap and runs slow when compared to Raging Thunder 2. The latter looks a lot better and runs totally smooth.
What I want to say is, the iPhone's GPU might be faster (I dont know the technical details here), but the Snapdragon is still fast enough for graphics as good as on the iPhone, when coded properly.

Some games are badly coded, its always been like that on all platforms. Too many Android games are ports, this is never good, and one reason why the games are slow. Electopia on Winmo shows that snapdragon games can look great. However we still have a slower GPU and 2.5x the pixels to push around than the iPhone.. Of course its probable that the low resolution of the iphone also holds back how good its games will ultimately look. I havent been all that impressed with them to be honest, but they have a smooth frame rate.

Clock speed doesn't make any bit of difference.
Snapdragon beats the iPhone cpu for regular CPU activities but doesn't stand up to it's GPU.

[Q] gaming problem

hello everyone ,,,
i've bought the lenovo a3000h tablet recently,, and it works great but i'am facing a little problem with hd games
like real racing 3 or gt racing 2 ,, simply it's just heavy especially when there is competitors with you in the race it gets so baaaaad
but on the other hand modern compat 4 works great and many other games
note:: there's about 550mb of free ram and i close any other application before starting a game
so can any body help me ??!!!

a3000 tab is using SGX544MP2 so the default setting that would be detected by the game is high setting, but in other hand, the processors itself only able to run low to medium quality graphic because its quiet low speed 1,2 even quad-core basis, so its make some of games quiet laggy.
In your case, downloar RR3 setting on the play store, and change the game setting at low to medium 2 its up to you, i guarantee youre gonna get 20-30+ fps
in other games if you meet semiliar problem, you can use gltool / chainfire, but i recommend gltool its safter, and check the glshader optimization for better performance, and use fake gpu, downgrade the gpu to tegra 2 or SGX540 its working for most game

[Q] huge lag on Brothers in Arms 3!

I just bought the phone (it's Exynos) and the first thing i installed was antutu benchmark, which gave me 52000 which was even higher than the note 4 in the list!! Anyway, it proved that the phone is really good. Now the first game i've installed on it is BIA3, but im having bad problems playing it. it gives me around 16-20 fps only, but i've seen this game run on htc one with more than 25 fps! Also someone else had a problem with spider man which was again weird, and he said that it was the only game doing this!
So now im guessing that these games are running on the 4 weak cpu's, instead of the strong ones...anyone has any ideas on it or how to fix it?
Also could you owners of the snapdragon version share your experience on these two games?

I opened clash of clans, and it was again really laggy...it wasn't before. I thought that the ram being almost full had to do something with it, so i restarted the phone and it played good for about 5 minutes and then the lag started. I tested this on BIA but again it was laggy even in the first 5 minutes of restart.
It's my first samsung phone ever, and i am not satisfied with it!

I ran an another antutu benchmark, and the results were good again,, so the problem must be with the games!
Maybe a way to force use the strong cpu's will help! Any ideas on how to do this?

Do you really think if display is 2k that means all games run in 2k resolution, lol?

well you have a point, but that must not be it. because i dont think that this phone in unable to run even 4k clash of clans smoothly!

Just downloaded played 1 hour no lag whatsoever

The entire point of this thread is to tell people who r planning to get this phone ...what this phone can do in game..i checked the gpu gflops and i dont think there is any game this device can't run ...it will be really helpful..if other users who use this sevice cn help increase size of.list...i have this kind of thread for almost all devices ..i just thought this device should have one.too..

I don't know if this is an appropriate reply but I have both Drastic (NDS emulator) and PPSSPP (Sony PSP emulator) on my Zenfone 2. Both run smooth as butter, on every game I have played on it so far, even the graphics intensive ones.

Rayman Jungle Run.
All games I have tried on this phone are smooth as butter, bearing out the results of its performance on benchmark tests. My ZE550ML also has the advantage of only pushing 720p. I honestly don't believe you lose much from being "only" 720p either - I find my display to be perfectly vivid, clear and bright, and have to really look closely and strain my eyes to see any pixels. Games look beautiful.

Has.anyone here tried mortal.combat x....is it playing smooth ?

i tried mortal combat x and it is playing smooth no problem with the gameplay

Seconded man...i also have a 720p screen. And what other might think...it actually looks good..pictures are sharp and crystal clear..gaming experience is smooth as vutter too..all credits to.its flagship class gpu

Can anyone tellme why i can't play racing rivals on my ze550ml?

Played most of the games given, the only remark i can give is some stutters (micro freeze) when playing. it happens less when i reboot the device before playing any game.
I assume this is related to the bad memory management in 550ml.

In my ze551ml 4gb ram 2.3ghz variant nfs most wanted work very good, without lag of grafical glitch and without black, the solutions is download the file obb by same app automatically and no manually mode

Factory CPU throttling

I noticed that when I ran Antutu I got benchmarks that were 115,000 on average. When I placed the phone in ice water, the benchmark reached 170,000. I'm guessing that LG purposefully reduces the CPU throttle so as not to raise the temp too high but does that limit the phone in day-to-day use? That might defeat the purpose of getting a CPU like this.

same here, can't play games like pubg in my city as it usually is 30°C... if i cool down the device it runs anything including antutu with extremelly great results. but in daily usage, games runs fine for 1-3 minutes then start lagging in a way to be unplayable... wish it were possible to unlock bootloader and change kernel settings, but unfortunately it's not available for my device =/

I'm not looking to game on it but I think you'd be better off looking into a Razer phone or equivalent. With that being said, I just need it for basic everyday use. It's passed for the time being, especially coming from a Moron ("Moto") G5 Plus.

Which Version of android you're using? I'm playing pubg on HD and realistic with almost no lag
