I guess your volume keys are damaged.Go to the service center for repairing the phone.
you can try the following but make sure to have a backups as im not responsible for any data loss or phones blowing up
deodex your rom if its not already deodexed - you can find guides on this by searching
install samsung usb drivers on your pc
root your phone via your pc - you can try using this
now download root explorer via playstore
download system app installer via playstore
download quickpanelsettings.apk
download my status bar from http://d-h.st/k1H
unzip my statusbar and copy contents to sd
install quickpannelsettings.apk with system app installer
with the root browser copy lidroid-res.apk to system/framework
set permission of file to rw-r-r
with the root brower copy SystemUI-apk to system/app replacing the file currently there (you may get force closes now just carry on)
set perrmission of file to rw-r-r
now restart your phone
once restarted you should have a new status bar
pull down the status bar and swipe the toggle icons left and the last but one toggle is restart
press that and you will have the option to reboot into recovery mode (download mode doesnt work on galaxy y via this method)
This will only work on stock based roms
if you want to return to stock rom flash stock rom via odin
you can put your phone into download mode by using a usb jig if your buttons do not work
Its best to get your keys repaired if you can though

Dude its better u get it repaired. Coz even if you do enter recovery, u need volume keys to navigate.... Unless you have touch recovery.
But to install touch recovery too u need to enter normal one. So volume buttons are must !

good point - totally forgot about that!
you will need to get your phone repaired if you want to use recovery
Well, if you have damaged Volume keys then you will be able to go to recovery but you will not be able to navigate in menus.
You can use rebooter app from play store(free) or use adb shell reboot recovery.
But to use recovery you will have to get your volume keys repaired (there is not any touch recovery for sgy yet)

I had the same problem because on my Galaxy Y the Volume Up key is also broken. Repairing is no option because it is simply not worth the
money (no warranty left). Here is a solution:
First you have to disassemble the phone until you get to the Volume keys. (Only 4 screws to remove) Here you can test them if they are really
broken. If they are you have to remove them completely. This is no problem because they don't work and if you would like to repair these they
need to be exchanged. Don't do this if you have any warranty left, you will loose it!! They are only soldered with
two points and you can easily remove them by slightly moving them forth and back until they break. Now you can use the volume key with every
piece of metal just by touching the two solder points left on the phone.
Starting in reboot mode via ADB you can now use the volume keys with the opened phone to do what ever you want.
It's clear that you take these steps on your own risk, for me it worked great, I'm now on a custom rom with a lot better user experience.

or go into settings->lang&input ->google voice typing ->ok google detection ->switch "when locked" to on..
this makes ur phone listen out for "ok google" even when screen is off...
screen wakes, then u can unlock it

My phone unable to access to download mode
It stuck in the warning sign want me to press volume + to enter
But both of volume button did't redirect to any page or even restart. So I need to force restart.
The recovery mode is fine
But the rom im install wrong with g935f (mine is g935fd)
Im not sure if there a problem with rom
And it risk to flash the rom again because I can't access to download mode in button method way
I can kick to download mode with the usb program , it respond well but not show any detail about knox or anything in the top corner of my screen (its usually have)
So, I don't know what to solve this. Please suggest me
Or any detail you want me to provide, please free to ask.
Hi,
I'm quite a n00b with mobiles and I need some guidance from you guys. I have a 2 year old Galaxy Note4 (N910G) which works perfectly fine except for being pretty slow and stuttery. I remember the phone used to be buttery smooth before, and I was wondering if a master reset can help. However, I'm wary of a master reset as I need to backup all my apps and personal data before I master reset, so that I can restore everything as it used to be previously.
I never rooted as I didn't want to lose warranty, but now that its 2 years old I don't care anymore. However, I have no clue about how to root or install a custom recovery. Pointing me to a good writeup/video guide will also help.
Also, I'd like to get a new look and feel on my phone, the old Touchwiz is getting boring - I was wondering if there are any Nougat based ROMs for the Note4 N910G that has the S-Pen support that I could flash on my phone. If there is, can you help me understand how to go about doing that?
I really appreciate your help.
What is master reset? You mean you give your N4 to a new master? Fine!

Hello
I am using resurrection remix nougat rom on my note 4.
S pen works a a finger and not as it used to work before with the airview and the other things. But the rom is perfect and customizable. It has nougat 7.1.2 that supports smart ram management and battery friendly.
To do it first backup everything in case you messed up. Go to your laptop and search google for TWRP for your phone model. Download it to your PC and dow. Load latest odin as well. Turn off your phone and press the home button and the power button and the volume down button… all three at the same time. And then u get a warning saying press vol down to cancel and vol up to continue or vice versa. So whatever chose the button to continue and on ur PC open odin and tap on AP and now chose the file u downloaded (twrp) and then press continue. Wait for it to finish and then ur phone will reboot and if it don't remove the battery and reinsert it but make sure it us done .don't remove battery during the process or yr phone will go. To. Trash. And next up search google for resurrection remix nougat rom. For ur device and download it. Now download es file explorer from play store and open the zip file resurrection rom just to make sure it is not corrupted. If it is corrupted then redownload it. Now go to recovery by turning off the phone and press vol up and power button and home button all at the same tine. Now tap backup and check all and proceed and if u don't have space buy a USB otg cable and connect ur USB to ur phone and backup to the USB. Once done go to wipe in TWRP and advanced and select cache system data and dalvik. Now wipe then and go to home in twrp and press install and select the resurrection remix zip rom u downloaded and tap to proceed. And done .first reboot will take some tine so leave ur phone and don't touch it. I recommend that u should keep ur battery 100 percent during the whole process. If it took more than 2 hours to boot then go to TWRP and tao restore and connect ur USB to make ur phone the same way it was before. But don't mess up with TWRP and zips cuz it would brick ur phone ..
And as for the launcher u can use nova launcher

OK, in summary -
1. Download TWRP. Make sure you have the right version as MM and N twrps might not work ion the incorrect version.
2. Use ODIN to Flash TWRP - from power off hold down volume, menu and start, press up to ignore the warning and flash.
Make sure you have downloaded the rom you want, make sure it's a stable build and after the phone either reboots or you reboot it after TWRP is installed copy the file to the sd card on the phone. Open file on PC and/or on phone. It generally won't allow the ROM to copy if it's corrupt.
3. Reboot to TWRP - volume up, menu and power = might ask if you want to keep your system read-only, you choose.
4. If you have space you can do a backup of the old rom as it then can be flashed back if there is a problem. Wipe the phone, don't wipe the external sd card...
5 Wait for it to load - make sure you have a full battery and/or plug into power. Depending on the setup it might take a little while - 15 minutes, or a lot longer. Don't get impatient and turn off unless you want to flash again or return to stock - just be aware that TWRP might ask to install SuperSU if you need to exit. DON'T... Use the latest version or you might bootloop.
6. Enjoy...
Thanks a lot for your responses guys. I was travelling and just checked the thread. I'll try the steps and report back.
I dunno, but at the time I bought this phone, 3GB RAM seemed to be like a lot. But now even entry level devices have 3-4 GB RAM minimum. Would Nougat run fine on this?
Good morning
I just broke my phone, it fell to the ground....
it is locked, it is not in OTG mode, nor in USB debugging on the développer menu...
how to recover my precious data
?
M
Old phones were easy to just get a spare devices and just unscrew and swap things .
Not so much with new ones , but doable with some tinkering.
But you should provide a bit more detail on phone model, OS it was running etc...
To give people more ideas about your options.
Like if screen does not show a picture , but touch still works , you could be guided
with steps to enable adb shell or something like usb file sharing mode.
or if OS version has recovery enabled with adb access or just blind click a seqence
to backup to external flash etc..... .
But provide more info before people can respond with options !!!
Good evening, I can't give much information... the screen is black, the touch screen does not work, no vibration. the buttons work, (the volume button, on / off). They vibrate under pressure. the led is lit green. it's a OnePlus 5 with unchanged official rom, Android 10 the black screen does not allow me to know more... Thank you for your help
i do not know the about OnePlus phones
but worth checking if adb is enabled if you button boot to recovery
Hi how I did this please
How I do this
google 'OnePlus 5 recovery'
(power and volume down button)
from what i see in the images it seems to have adb options , not sure
if it is a full adb access. I have no oneplus phones.
But watch the videos , you might be able to follow the sequence of button pushes
to enable it if it is not enable on just booting to recovery mode.
(ussualy vol up down and power for select)
Sorry i cannot help further as i have no knowledge of oneplus .
But once you get adb access you are set, even without root. you
should be able to download your internal storage and data partitions.
