Hello, I recently bought S8 Duos, didn't know it was until I opened the box. At first I didn't' care, but after few days i figure out that phone is from UAE and have some bloatware apps like SHAHID. So I tried to flash UK BTU firmware with Odin, like with any other Samsung before, but nothing, apps are still there, even under About Phone in Settings I still have at the bottom, United Arab Emirates TRA/ID: ********* TO: *********. Any suggestion please? Thanks.
Download BK Disabler or package Disabler pro and disable any bloat on the phone.
I don't want just to disable them, want to get rid of them... And want to get rid of United Arab Emirates under Settings. Why is still there after flashing UK BTU firmware?
the best way is to use adb to uninstall, just search for adb uninstall it works easily, you connect yr phone to the pc, with samsung drivers installed and oem unlock and usb debugging selected in development settings of phone, run cmd on PC and uninstall the apps. good idea to install a package app from the play store there are a few free, just to get the proper names of the apps, see this thread for more info, https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/how-to-remove-oem-bloatware-s8-s8-t3654687
The other option (other than using BK Disabler or doing an adb uninstall) is to root your phone, and delete the apps using a file explorer on device.
Or, flash a custom ROM that has already been de-bloated.

You must factory reset after flashing. This will enable BTU csc and wipe the bloat apps.

As the title says, the play store doesnt work for me ever since I flashed the xnote rom. I thought it was the roms fault, but then i did a factory reset and went back to stock and it still doesnt work. It doesnt connect to the play store both on wi-fi and on mobile net. I think it may be because I changed the csc, there was an option to change the csc when installing the rom and i chose some csc which I dont remember now, Is it possible changing csc can do this? How do I change back to the previous version or just change it at all?

I don't remember changing csc can make you not able to connect to playstore.
If so, you can just dirty flash again over and choose the csc that you want.
But, for the playstore itself, when I was on Note 2, I did experienced once. But I manage to make it work again by updating the playstore service, clear all data related to playstore, delete the google account, and reboot. After that I put back the google account, on the playstore, and it run again. Might be different case & solution with you. Just to share.
Cheers.

OK so what I noticed is that, when I installed xnote rom, i probably chose some csc like Italy or something. That's why Google services wasnt workling like play store, chrome etc.
What I then did was try to change my csc. I got options for chaning it to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia etc. I only had a few options available. I think I only got these countries because when I download 4.4.2 from sammobile, I chose the Singapore version. Thats why i can change to only these few regions. Anyways, once i went back to Singapore's csc, everything is working again
Any suggestions as to how to get my UK vodafone contract I9505 back to its correct CSC ??
Back in the mists of time (JB or KK) I flashed a ROM which flipped my CSC from VOD to Switzerland (AUT). Now I've tried applying I9505XXUHOB8_I9505VFRHOC1_VOD.ZIP to get back to Vodafone UK's CSC and the bloody phone thinks it's Spanish (ATL) !!
This is driving me bananas! I've tried reflashing, clearing the cache and doing factory reset before and afterwards, I've tried reflashing it twice with a factory reset from android and that hasn't worked either. There's so much crap out there on what should fix the problem but I can't find anything that actually works.
Phone is currently "offical" status and has knox 0x0 and I'd like to keep it that way, but I really want to get the CSC situation resolved so I can take a stab at getting the vodafone wallet/NFC support working. I need to stay away from rooting it as I use the phone for banking
Please help!
WARNING: The following procedure will result in the S4 being factory reset. Backup all data beforehand.
Dial *#272*IMEI#. A screen will appear with the list of available CSC codes. Select one and reboot. The other option is to use CSC Changer from the Play Store.

*#272 doesn't work any more.
In the end I went down the root/csc change app path.
Downgraded to I9505XXUGNJ5_I9505VFRGNK1_VOD 4.4.2, then used towelroot & Mr Wolf's instructions to get root for NJ5. Now I was able to use (I think) csc selector to flip the CSC over to VOD. Finally I reflashed and factory reset I9505XXUHOB8_I9505VFRHOC1_VOD again and am now on lollipop with the correct CSC
And most surprisingly I'm still knox 0x0 !! It was showing custom status whilst it was rooted, but is now back to official.
Last step was to bung geohot a tenner for writing towelroot and making this possible
Hi,
i have been trying to return to UK stock software BTU but every time i do a odin flash then boot 3 rogue apps keep installing during boot they are, foodarena.ch,parku, phonebook!? Has anyone had this happen before?
Edit i have rooted and noticed that the apps are stored in the preload folder within the root directory, i removed them all and tried to reflash with no luck then still keep installing?
If you have had this before please help :crying:
Ive got the same firmware and cant see anything hiding in the preload folder, sorry, where did you get the firmware from?

Samfirm, ive seen this sort of forced install before on a tablet but resolved it by flashing the official firmware, but im trying the same here with no luck?
Noticed this guy has had the same issue,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59581427&postcount=680
This is a weird one, i definately havent got them 3 roque apps, looked in different root explorers and used the search function, i definately have the bku uk firmware but i didnt get it from sammobile, it took to long as a free user
@Garner: I missed this thread as my I9505 isn't my daily driver anymore. When I flashed the BTU firmware two things happened.
1. The three apps mentioned appeared.
2. The CSC changed to AUT.
The BTU firmware is multi-country, and on my device and yours it defaults to AUT rather than BTU. I don't recall where the apps are hidden on the device, however, there is no operational difference in the firmware except those three apps appear. Solution? Uninstall the apps. Those three apps are installed in the /data partition and not /system, thus they can be uninstalled like any other app.
So I rooted my S7 Edge a few months ago and installed CSC Selector and through that I've been running on XAA for quite a while. I've attempted to uninstall root on my phone but some apps still detect root even though there's nothing left over, so I plan on flashing stock ROM through Odin. Only thing is I can't find the XAA CSC that I want to flash through Sammobile. Anyone know if that is only something that can be done through CSC Selector, and will I have to settle for my old UK CSC (XEU). If this is the case, is Google Assistant available through XEU?
Cheers.
Hi guys,
so I own a non rooted Galaxy S7 edge (exynos) and I am trying to change it's CSC.
Prehistory:
I live in Bulgaria and bought it (back in 2016) from one of the carriers here - Telenor, so naturally it had a Telenor branded firmware (CSC GBL I think). I immediately downloaded the unbranded firmware for Bulgaria (CSC BGL) from Sammobile and flashed it. Phone started in Polish, but didn't have any extra apps or uncotabilities, so I left ti this way.
The problem:
With the new versions of Android the Polish CSC, which the MULTI-CSC for Bulgaria defaults to started having some apps (like samsung pay) that just crash when opened and started having some menus in the settings (like T mobile roaming) which just crash the settings app when clicked. I tried downloading several ROMs (The first Andorid 8.0 and several older Android 7.0) in an attempt to make the phone switch to BGL SCS, but unfortunately whatever I do it just defaults on the Polish one. I tried wiping the cache and factory reset after flash, tried having a Bulgarian SIM card inserted both during flash, cache wipe & reset, and startup, but I cannot change the CSC to BGL.
Notes:
1. Flashing Android 8.0 caused the bootloader to be updated to U2, so I cant flash firmwares with bootloader of U1, unless I flash them without the their bootloader, but this doesn't work everytime (I think)
2. I haven't rooted my phone yet and prefer not to. If I absolutely must I ask for a guide on how to do it without triggering Knox & with option to unroot it after in such a way that it is like it has never been rooted.
3. The Dialer codes for IMEI and CSC change no longer work. I only managed to make the IMEI one ( *#06#) work using a firmware from 07.2017 (flashed without its bootloader), but the one for changing CSC (*#272*<IMEI>#) doesn't work on it.
I'm stuck guys I don't know what else to do. I only want the phone to have a BGL CSC and to receive OTA updates. No root, no nothing.
Thank you for your time.
P.S. I searched the forums all day, but couldn't find a solution

Morning,
I hope you have found a solution to this already. If not.. You need to download a combination file which is the same version as the main firmware you have. eg. XXU2 firmware requires a XXU2 combination file.
Flash the combination file. When the device is rebooted in to factory binary perform a factory reset. now flash the "home csc" file from your main firmware pack. when the handset is powered on again open up the factory imei shortcut/app, this has a keypad type *#243203855# this will bring up the csc codes for your multi-region firmware. select the one you require and the handset will reboot. now just flash your main firmware and it will be the CSC you need.
