System flashing - Huawei P10 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello xdaers, so recently I got a new phone, huawei p10 lite (was-lx1)
So, before on Huawei p8 lite, if I wanned to reflash the system, I usually downloaded the firmware from carbontelsa and extracted the system, cust, boot...
Now, on this phone p10 lite, I noticed that there's no such version- let me explain.
My build number is WAS-LX1C432B186
my question is - can I flash the WAS-LX1A system? Will or will it not brick my phone?

you'll need a oeminfo and servicerom b182

My device is 4g, it's not lte.
And yes, it works perfectly.
I just wanned to ask if I can flash the WAS-LX1A system to my device in case of a system malfunction due to root.
Because I want to install Dolby atmos.

The WAS-LX1A is the 4GB Ram device, while the WAS-LX1 is the 3GB Ram version.
Why would you want to flash the 4GB rom onto your 3GB device? If you need to reflash the system, flash the one that is specifically for your device.
It is possible to flash the 4GB version on your phone, but you will need to change the oeminfo file, but we do not know what the long-term consequences will be.

ohh, I see..
well, the problem is, IF my system crashes due to some unsuccessfull flashes, or something, so that I would have the ability to reflash the system.
because when I searched for the WAS-LX1 roms on carbontesla, I only found the A versions (WAS-LX1A)

Search for your firmware using Firmware Finder. If that doesn't work, use the Service Firmware for your device that you can find here.

I do not know what the difference is, but is it not the safer option to just use the proper software for the device, especially when it will be for long-term use? Also, if his device is branded, won't it be better to use the correct system of firmware?
If the firmware is all the same, but the vendor file is different, will that not have any effect on the device, especially when it comes to ram management, and battery life, etc? I'm asking out if curiosity, to learn, not to be difficult. [emoji16]

Hello, Okay, I did find the Latvia service rom was-lx1c432b182
But now I got another question, can I flash it right away? By extracting system, boot, and cust? Or it isn't as simple anymore?
Because my phones version apparently is c432b184.

Upgrading to EMUI 4.0 via HiSuite ROM Installing option

Hello XDA!
My current build number is C636B170 and i want to install C432B550 Marshmallow update. I tried the "Local Update" option but it fails everytime.
The ROM Flashing option in HiSuite, can i install the update with that option? I would be happy if someone gave me an answer for my problem.
Thanks
You can't, either you wait for an official update for your Custc or you change your Custc (c636) to (c432) by
First: unlocking your bootloader
Second: download (c432b052) firmware and flash it.
Then download the b170 and local update it then you can download and update to b550
All the tutorial can be found in xda by little search

Ok. Thanks. I will try that out.
Unlocking bootloader means only my warranty is void, yes?
And after is there anything else i should know before doing so?

You have been a good help for me till now. Can you please help me with this too?
I flashed a ROM which is based to C432B052 but it kinda made my sim unusable for that ROM. And i was unable to local update either.
I want to know
1. A site where i can download official firmware for my phone
2. How to properly install it with fastboot (i can do it but i feel like i am missing something very important)
Thanks

you may lose your imei after flashing b052 but you will be able to restore it after updating to b170
btw your phone is dual sim or single sim ? from the build number you gave before it should be a dual sim, if it is then continue.
after flashing b052 download b170 and extract it then take the update.app and make a folder in the root of your device named (dload) and put it there. you should find the update in the local update.

>VERIFIED< TWRP and SuperSU files?

Hello. I want to root my P8 lite, but I've read about some tutorials/files being for chinese version of Marshmallow and other for Kirin chipset, and as a newbie, I'm quite lost in it and I don't know which files / tutorial I have to use. I really don't want to brick my phone.
So can someone upload or post link to files or whole unlocking bootloader->flashing TWRP->root tutorial that will work on 6.0 B574 version?

I'm stuck with TWRP! Every version I try can't read any partition inside the phone..
As a result of that, I can't flash nor backup the oeminfo or any other partition!
I successfully just rebranded a VKY-L09 single sim to a VKY-L29 dual sim but this VKY-AL00 is giving me a hard time!
Hs anyone managed to find the correct TWRP?
m.
EDIT:
I asked to the funky huawei guys and they gave me a test twrp which is able to read and mount the partition! nice guys really!

VKY-AL00 rebrand final solution
After spending 10+ hours trying to get this phone to an european model, I kinda gave up. The main reason for the rebrand was because the newsfeed was in chinese and there is no play store, so you can hardly get your normal apps.
So I finally decided to go with openkirin (.net).
- Reflash your stock recovery and do a clean install(maybe through your stock recovery) of the latest stock version of your system.
- Then follow the guide on openkirin.
I used the omnirom 3.1 beta. Works great, the guide only took 30 min tops. Everything seems to work fine and you have direct access to an english newsfeed and the playstore.
I followed every guide on rebranding, but got nothing to work. This gives your phone a clean android system so it is at least fully usable.
Good luck

[Discussion] Rollback package for various models

Hi Folks,
Seeing around various section of all the models when users are struggling to restore their phone either due the flashing an incorrect firmware or after updating via Firmware Finder app and then wanting to rollback to earlier version of EMUI. They sometime cannot even flash the custom ROMs due to FRP lock or unable to flash the custom recovery and even after trying all the known methods, we struggle to restore their phone as they messed up badly with their phone and model or version change to something unexpected.
In this thread, lets discuss and share about rollback files available for various models (be it MM, Lollipop anything) so that new users could use it to restore to their original version and then update to official versions.

Hi, guys.
One question: I got Honor 8 pro, and I want to unlock the bootloader and have root.
Now, in worst case scenario, if I need to go back and flash stock firmware with dload method, is "update-eu-rb.zip" the file I need?
Thank you so much.

It may not be as simple as one file.
You need to flash stock AL10 recovery.img.
Then you need to put the update.app from correct region AL10 stock firmware on your sd card. Switch off your phone.
Then hold power, volume up and volume down at the same time. Your phone should automatically update. If you get failed to update message, eg, it goes to 5% then fails, it means you have the wrong firmware. You have to keep on trying stock AL10 firmwares until success. Start with the right region first, like the region your in and then go from there.
Check somboons threads. Read the posts regarding your firmware. Also check SRK tool lod Chong version, also from somboons. That might be very helpful.

Sorry for late reply. What firmware did you have before downgrade?
Either way, you may not be able to use a recent firmware. Your best option is to find the same firmware you had when you got your phone, follow the instructions I gave you in earlier reply. Once your phone is working, you may have to manually update your firmware. Don't just use system update because that can create a lot of problems for your device. Just keep reading the somboons posts because there very helpful.
