Bluetooth disconnects when screen off - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Having searched the forum I think this is an old topic with no real solution, however...
When I connected my P8 Lite (B612 Marshmallow) to my bluetooth speaker (Anker) it works well until the screen switches off, at which point it doesn't fully disconnect, but inhibits the signal, making audio unlistenable. The very moment I turn the screen on (while the phone is on the lock screen and I haven't yet entered my passcode) it goes back to functioning properly.
Is there a fix for this? Is there a bluetooth "process" that is being stopped when the screen is off? If so, how do I stop that happening? Thanks!

Am I the only one? ?

Auto screen off during phone calls?

Hello,
In the past I am sure that my display screen went off after a certain time during a phone call (saving on battery life). I have noticed recently that the screen stays on the whole time, regardless of call length. I have looked through all the settings I can think off, and can't seem to find one relevant to auto screen shut off during a call.
I have installed Pocket Bluetooth Tools and PocketZenPhone (previously I was using Myhonerofiles).
Is there a setting I am missing, or some software that I can use to have an auto screen shut off during a call.
Many thanks for any help.
The screen will not turn off if Bluetooth headset is being used.
Normally, the screen will not turn off if there is any serial port activity (like while connected through activesync)
Are you sure that in Settings/Backlight/Bttey Power: the "Turn Off Backlight" option is selected?, it should be selected to turn the device screen off after 30 seconds or so.
I use a car kit running on bluetooth, and the screen goes off after 30 seconds!
I've set both the power and the back light to go off after 1 minute. There is not normally a problem and the screen powers off ok, unless I'm on a call (with or without a bluetooth headset).
There is an option in JGUI Phone Profiles that does this.
If you no longer have it installed then you won't get that effect.
When I uninstalled Phone Profiles I missed the screen off option so much I reistalled it just for that.

So does mine.
After installing Pocket Bluetooth Tools (PBT), my screen won't turn off while on call. If I do turn it off during a conversation, my bluetooth headset cuts out while the other person is still on the phone and won't be able to recover it until I hang up.
If I have the timer working for the PBT, then my autoshut off will work, but that's after I change the timer from 60 seconds to 10 seconds in the registry. If I disable the timer, the autoshut off will work. So if you don't want to play around with the registry, then I suggest leaving PBT timer on.
But either way, if the timer is on or off, during a call, it won't turn off automatically with PBT installed. I like PBT because I was able to quickly connect to my headset faster than the built-in MS Bluetooth Stack.
I guess its a case of balancing the use of Pocket Bluetooth tools with the power saving function of having an auto screen cut off during a call. I'm not sure what is more important to me just now.
I am reluctant to return to My Phone Profiles. I am really enjoying the latest version of PocketZenPhone. I think I will make a request to have autoscreen included in a future version. Who knows, I might get lucky!

IF you have Pocket Bluetooth installed, then while on call, it will not automatically turned off. But if you turned it off manually, while on call, it will cut out from the bluetooth headset and I find no way to get it back yet.

bluetooth keeps phone awake - how can I stop this ?

When my touch dual is connected to my bluetooth headset, it causes the screen to be constantly on (rather than going to sleep).
This causes problems for me because when it is in my pocket, things are accidentally touched on the screen.
How can I stop the phone from staying "awake" with the screen on when it is connected to a bluetooth headset ?
Thanks
press the power button for it to shut down the screen ?
Thanks but I should have mentioned that when I press the power button, it turns off then just turns itself straight back on again.
unknown problem, but i know niki will turn on inside magnetic field. try if you're not holding anything magnetic close to the screen?
niki seems to think you slide it open when magnets come close to the device.
Did you ever fix this?
My AcerDX900 with winmo6.1 does this too and it's killing batterytime....

Screen behalvour when using headset?

Hi all,
I really like the fact the screen automatically switches off during calls using the proxy sensor - very clever, very battery saving!
How does this work when using a headset then (wired or bluetooth)? As in does it automatically switch off after say 10 secs? Or is there a button to press to turn it off? Ideally there would be.. otherwise I can see using a bluetooth headset would be a double-barrel battery drain during say a 20 minute call - both from the bluetooth radio and the screen being on all that time!
During the call it's fine, the screen gets turned off when you have the phone in your pocket. The problem comes after the call when it remains on and completely unlocked.

[Q] Bluetooth turns off when not connected to anything? WP7/Mango

Hi all,
In recent weeks my bluetooth is turning off when it isn't being used. I only use it for hands free in the car and up until a few weeks ago it always stayed 'On' however now, once disconnected from the car radio, it turns off again.
If I turn it back on away from the car it will go to 'Off' shortly after turning it 'On'.
It's a touch annoying as it means I have to get in the car, turn the engine/radio on, unlock the phone, set bluetooth to 'On' every time I drive and want the phone on hands free.
When connected to the car radio, the bluetooth stays on without problem, so I am not entirely sure what is going on.
I have tried turning battery saver off, restarting the phone etc. but nothing has changed this behaviour.
Has anyone got any suggestions on what I can try next, I'm a bit stuck!
Thanks

NFC tap does not turn off bluetooth

Hey, everyone, this is my first Samsung phone, after 4 years of Sony Xperias. I thought it was time to join the big screen league and decided on this beautiful phone.
I am trying to get used to Samsung's way of doing things. One thing that seems very strange is that when I tap NFC on my Sony bluetooth headphones or the loudspeaker, it turns them on and connects them to the phone (and it turns on the bluetooth obviously) - and this is fine - but when I am done and tap the NFC again, it disconnects but the bluetooth on the phone stays on! So I have to remember to turn it off manually. The Sony phones also turned off the bluetooth when disconnecting by NFC tapping, if it was off before I tapped to connect.
Does this happen to anyone else? If so, is there any app or something I can do to get this out of the way? Tasker might be a little too complicated for me
Thanks!
