When my touch dual is connected to my bluetooth headset, it causes the screen to be constantly on (rather than going to sleep).
This causes problems for me because when it is in my pocket, things are accidentally touched on the screen.
How can I stop the phone from staying "awake" with the screen on when it is connected to a bluetooth headset ?
Thanks
press the power button for it to shut down the screen ?
Thanks but I should have mentioned that when I press the power button, it turns off then just turns itself straight back on again.
unknown problem, but i know niki will turn on inside magnetic field. try if you're not holding anything magnetic close to the screen?
niki seems to think you slide it open when magnets come close to the device.
Did you ever fix this?
My AcerDX900 with winmo6.1 does this too and it's killing batterytime....

Anyone know how to stop an accidental clicks or other screen presses from taking place when I've got the phone to my face during a call?
Si.
I use a freeware app called Screen Off, download it here:
http://www.handango.com/PlatformPro...latformId=2&N=96806&productId=125781&R=125781
Basically when I make a call or answer a call I have screen off assigned to a button, so I can then press the button to turn the screen off. To turn the screen back, just press the power on button.\
Hope this helps,
Or maybe you could simply turn PDA off with a single power button press...and when you're finished simply turn it on. Remember that the radio is always running (unless you hold the power button for 5s).
My screen turns off automatically after about 20 seconds when on a call - haven't set it to do this - in fact can't even find an option - it just seems to be the default setting. The only way to turn it back on is to press the green or red buttons, or just flick the volume control either way - works for me. (O2 XDA Mini s)

Macrinus - thx that works a treat.
That's weird, your screen turning off after 20 seconds, mine turns off as configured in "Turn backlight after..." and "Turn off device...".

Click to collapse
Yeah, it is weird - bit annoying, but sensible really to save the power - Perhaps its just the device turning off then, with the phone still running .... comes back to life with a flick of the volume though - touching the screen won't re-activate it. Will have to time it a bit more closely !

Radio on screen off
I too turn the device off when I'm on a call (although I only discovered I could without ending the call this morning). Otherwise, my ear activates the Start menu.
Doh!
if only the backlight is turned off, the screen WILL still react to face contact!
I understand that either the device (less the phone side!) via power button, or the screen must be turned off via an utility.
It may exist, but I know no proggie able to lock the touchscreen without turning it off!
(pitty, my axim X50v can lock the screen without turning it off via a Hw sliding button9
Hey guys,
I've recently flashed the latest AMP (Wm 6.1) onto my G4 and i've noticed an annoying problem.
I don't know if it's the ROM or the fact that i've not used the device in a while, but it seems the slightest nudge on the screen will turn the device on and light up the backlight.
This is really annoying and will kill my battery quickly. Is there any app or registry tweak that can disable the slide mechanism from activating the power i.e. if the power is off, opening the slide will not power the device on - ONLY the power button will do this.
Any suggestions?
Well, that IS the way that the Wizard works! It shouldnt be turning on when you slide the screen if the device is in sleep mode...so I would say that it has something to do with the ROM. Try hard-reseting or flashing again my friend and see if it helps!
Yeah, but we are talking the slightest tap or millimeter and it turns on.
I'm going to try a reflash and hoping that it's not a hardware fault.
Im sorry, I said that wrong. The Wizard SHOULD NOT turn on when you open the keyboard, if you have powered it down with the power button or it has turned off automatically via time-out. It should only wake from sleep if you press the power button, sorry for the confusion!
Though it does indeed still seem like a ROM problem to me!
On my old Tytn II, there was a dedicated power button which I can use to turn off the screen during a call with the BT headset. But with the HD2, it depends on the proximity sensor to turn off the screen since pushing the power button will also end the call. When I am using a BT headset, the phone leaves the screen on and this poses problems as I seem to be able to accidentally bump on the END call screen button when I leave it in my pocket. Is there any solution to this?
hi,
i use aebutton on the hd2, the program has an so called 'action menu' wich can be accessed by a keypress. one of the commands available is to turn of the screen. its a bad workaround i know, but i didnt find anything better to do this. another thing is that proximite sensor is still active. so if you blank the screen and the sensor detects that you are moving the device away from your body, it switches the display on again. the keylock feature is not used when in phonecall.
mad.
*EDIT:* maybe pocketshield is also a solution.
No, I'm not talking about putting the phone to the face.
A lot of times, I use my phone with a bluetooth and when I do, I want to put the phone into my pocket and continue talking but I rather turn the screen off before putting it in my pocket (in case I hit the end button). I tried pressing the power button but that disconnects the call which I think they should've just left it as turning the screen off rather than disconnecting.
Do you guys know any other way or apps to change that?
Yeah even i have the same problem. Like if im on loudspeaker, i would prefer it if the screen was locked or off.
lots of these small problems with the x10, 2.1 needs to come out QUICK.. and root of course.
Recently there is a problem with the device. The power button does not turn the device on and off, sometimes vibrating but the screen does not wake up even when connected to the power supply.
Double tapping does not respond. Sometimes the screen will turn on for a second and turn off.
Sometimes everything looks right.
When this happened, the device warmed up around the power switch.
So I replaced the lighting component and now the problem continues random without the device warming up.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be and how to solve it?
Thanks so much everyone.
