Rom Control, where can I find/buy it? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Im using Batman Rom and that rom comes with a neat rom control feature to colour and tweak alot of aspects of the rom to my own liking.
Do you guys know of something like this that can be paid for snd downloaded trough Play Store or XDA working on other Touxhwiz roms?
Would be amazing to set colour on tiles and everything on all the roms im trying.

Dark Sense

Hi,
Ive had a look around but cant seem to find what Im looking for. Has anyone seen a dark theme for HTC apps - basically where the colous are inverted in apps like google talk / email / messaging - was thinking this could save quite a lot of power especially for IM apps. A lot of apps like newsrob are already including this feature but built-in apps obviously arent as easy to update so am looking for a theme.
Hi,
there is a theme called DarKedge Ui which theme all the apps and messaging but not yet ported tohtc desire...still waiting !!! did you found something concerning your request ??
Darkedge is for stock roms only not for HTC Sense roms. The apps are totally different.
Sense is White on Black so there is no more Option to save Battery. DarkedgeUI is for standart Android to convert your theme from Black on White to White on Black ....
Do you think then it is possible to bring the Darkedge theme to htc sense roms ?

WORKING BLN - Back Light Notification

Well, neldar and morfic of xda have done it, there is now a working back light notification for the Nexus s! morfic has included it in his latest kernels, Honity12 and Honity14. but, you do need the BLN control market app to make it work. there is a free version and a pro version in the market, i recommend the pro version. it has much more options, including controlling the speed of the blink. heres a video demo of BLN on my nexus s--> http://goo.gl/tUcD6
also, heres morfics Honity thread, download links for the kernels are in the op--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973125
Fantastic!
I have been waiting for this
Working perfectly for me! Great work.

weeee finally thanks for letting us know
Cool it works. So pretty much we have to buy the pro version if we want it to be useful at all? Right now when I get a notification it turns on the button LEDs for like 2 seconds then turns off, and that's it, doesn't keep pulsing...
wait for this since i bought this phone now its perfect!!
waiting for a BLN kernel which work with the NSCollab ROM

yea, you do need the pro app to get the full features. on the free app, itll blink again(like every minute or so), just not right away.
thanks for the heads up! I guess it's time to change kernels for the first time for my nexus s. Didn't see the need to in the past, as I don't really need more speed.
backing up CM7_RC2 right now, and getting ready to flash the kernel and buy the BLN app
edit: sorry to go off topic, but does anyone know of anyway I can make notification sounds repeat like they did on NoLED?
can you control what icon will be shown
WOW sounds great
Question
Can i control it to the level that -
SMS will light the HOME botton
Mail will light the SEARCH botton
MISSED CALL will light both BACK & HOME bottons
??
Well, I'm using this kernel and it seems to be causing issues where the capacitive buttons are unresponsive on screen unlock. I think morfic is trying to fix this. I seem to have stumbled across a work around that I can't post on the developer thread(being "new" and all). Don't know whether anyone else has mentioned it.
If I leave the BLN test notification in my notification bar alone. Then the issue doesn't crop up any more and my buttons and BLN feature work fine.
Sorry, scratch that. That was a bit premature. The issue is back when I leave a notification unattended and lock my screen. My bad.

sadly not for all nexus s user
I've found a bug with the kernel where if on keylock you touch the shortcut buttons. Once you do that they light up and it doesn't fade away, only happens when I take it out my pocket. Also sometimes the buttons when unlock done illuminate and aren't clickable resulting in a restart.
Has anyone else seen this? If not it might be down to my set up.
Same problems here. You might want to try morfics s10 BLN v3 test kernel.

BLN is very buggy. when charging the phone and getting a notification it will cause the phone to freeze or reboot. Also when getting a notification and unlocking the phone the cap buttons will not always light. Locking and unlocking the phone will fix this problem but not always.
Even after uninstalling BLN, the cap button weirdeness persists. Only way to fix it is to restore from a backup or install a new ROM. I'm using CM7 11 w/ honity12 at stock speeds.
When BLN works its awesome. Hopefully they can fix these problems before I install it again.

Actually, what you need to do is use another kernel (which coincidentally happens when you restore a backup or install another ROM).
So does the backlight notification work if I just purchase the pro app from the market or do I need to install the kernel? I plan to install Og's kernel with voodoo features so I was wondering.. can multiple kernel be installed? No right?

You can only have one kernel at a time.
It's a pity it only works with some ROMs, I like to cook my own ones making them as tiny as possible, removing unused apps and changing ringtones and notification sound for my own ones
As long as you're basing your cooked ROM on a ROM that has a BLN-enabled kernel, you can use that kernel.
For example, if your ROM is basically a CM7 with some modifications, you can use any CM7-compatible kernel and it should work.

Problem is the ROM I like to use is a very stock one with some modifications done with dsixda's kitchen.
I'll start reading about kernels and how to change them, maybe I can combine my ROM with that kernel

Herolatte problems

Hi
i had cyanogenmod on my hero but it´s to slow for this rom. so i flashed herolatte on it same days ago. now i have some problems and wanted to know how i could solve them.
1, weather: i doesn´t find my possision and doesn´t show me the weather from where i am. tried it with mobile internet and wifi.
2, lockscreen picture: how can i change the picture of the lockscreen? tried to change the theme and mode but i always have the sea gull
3, youtube app: the app is working but i can´t watch the clips. i tried it yesterday with mobile internet. and today with wifi and then the phone crashed and did a reboot
I´m not to much in to this stuff with roms and so. Is there maybe a better rom for the hero?
thanks
Use decked rom if u want speed or rose if u want sense,or try vanilla eclair fr more speed,or FroYo fr a froyo rom
I'd recommend floyo n maybe even heroine too there r so many options read comments n download a rom...

i wanted to try Elelinux-7.1, but i have some problems with herolatte
i can´t connected to the pc. and i can´t install the rom
In fact, herolatte has a lot of bugs, and it seems to be, as far as I rembered from the last time I tried it, that it was really slow compared to other roms than can be faster and more efficient.
You really should listen to bharat_goku's advices, he's really god damn right!
I will try later to flash an other Rom. But it´s not so easy with this buggy rom.
compared to cyanogenmod, herolatte is lot more faster.

Quick Keys on a custom ROM (MIUI.US)

Hello boys, girls, and friendly animals.
I installed MIUI.US yesterday and noticed the same thing that's always bothered me from non-stock or non-CM ROMs: there's no way to use the phone's Quick Keys (other than setting them to work like, say, a Back button using ButtonRemapper).
One of the things I use the most from the stock ROM is the shortcut to send an SMS to a contact. I've found that without this, ROMs eventually annoy me.
Is there any way to go about and making these work? I tried installing UserKeysTool.apk (com.tmobile.userkeystool) from a stock ROM (s14mc's 1.6 Slim) to no avail; the app simply crashes upon opening it, which means I'm missing some other file I'm not aware of.
Any help would be appreciated here.

Apps to control LED illumination bar

Hi guys,
My english is not perfect but i will do my best
I'm new here and that's why i post it here and it would be great if someone could move it to development forum.
I've seen some tutorials here about how to control the led bar with terminal but i have something easier for you.
There is 2 Apps to control the bar. I will try to make them better and try to add another features but i dont know when it will happen.
One of this app is based on sony illumination API but the thing is that you can turn on 3 leds at the same time with the same color. Maybe i dont know how to use it but i dont know how to change color of each led separately. You can turn on Pulse Effect here.
Second app is basen on DooMLoRD tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439651) and here you can change color of each led and thats the only thing that this app is doing.
Yeah i know that this apps are so simple but maybe someone will have some fun while using them
If i will make something new i will update this thread.
Have FUN
PS: to turn off leds in app where you can control each led just set their colors to black.
Sorry to say but wrong section mate.you should have posted in themes and apps section
Great apps bro
Can you add features like music pulse music beats
And please please can you make it compatible with AOSP ROMS like cm11 and it's based ROMS

If you could implement the features like discolight it would be much more awesome
@LIONS1
I'm new to android programming and i dont know how to make apps comapitible with other ROM's, but i will try it.
Music pulse, music beats - like i said i'm beginner but maybe some day i will make it. This project is just for fun and i dont know if i will have time to implement all the features i would like to.

It's not possible without root.
Also, you are in the wrong section of the forum. Questions about U are probably better answered in the Xperia U forums
@rundgong is it possible to turn on illumination bar when in certain apps? e.g if I set color to yellow for temple run, every time I launch temple run the illumination bar stays on with yellow glow and when I switch to hangouts it starts glowing green? (would love to set colors for different apps, I mean we have this huge illumination bar so why not make it shine through out the ui? why use it just for notification and not fun )
btw using your illumination bar pro app and I must say it is money-well-spend

It's not possible to do it properly I think. There is no easy way of knowing what app is currently running.
By using AccesibilityEvents you can probably find out some info about when an app is brought to the front. With that info you can maybe do something that kind of works, but not really.
But I'm not sure about that.
The best thing about this app is that it works without Rooting also

Yes there is one just modify a launcher that reacts different, depending on which App is opened. Or just checkout these ways on StackOverflow.
