Hello,
Can anyone confirm that the Prime Video app on the shield works with primevideo.com subscriptions?
This would be a subscription outside of the main Amazon prime sites (US, UK). I have a primevideo.com subscription for Ireland.
Not a straight answer.. but I would think if the fire tv app or android app work with it this one should as well, inversely if one of those doesn't than this probably doesn't.
Would like to know this too.

I have a wifi xoom so no joy yet on the movies. However I wanted to see what the guys with verizon xooms thought of the movies, - price, selection, quality, etc

Good selection so far, I rented and watched Despicable Me last night. Downloaded and played with no problem, was even able to to play on HD tv via HDMI.
Are you using a Wifi only Xoom?
I'm using the Wifi only and I'm not yet seeing movie rental option in the Market.
If you go to the the android market on a computer or in your browser, you can look at the movie section. 5 bucks for a newer HD movie, 4 for an older one in HD. 4 dollars for a newer movie in standard definition, and 3 for an older movie in SD.
I won't be renting at that price.
And just a note, if you go to harry potter 7 SD edition for 4 bucks and look at the reviews you will see people complaining that it streaming in 480p was horrible. And that some couldn't finish it.
A question I have is how much data does it accrue streaming a HD movie off the verizon network?
I wouldn't wanna pay close to 15 dollars to watch one movie if the movie would take a gig. Which I'm imagining it'd be more.

I have update my Motorola Xoom Wifi to the latest Android 3.1 and I also can't find the movie rental option in the market.
Is this feature only for the US market? I am in Hong Kong.

At the moment I am in the US for the next 9 months, but after that im going back to Germany. I'm really considering picking up the Kindle Fire here and then just use it in Europe. The mean reasons I want the Kindle for are surfing, youtube, reading books, and maybe some apps (games or so). So my main question is now, wether the amazon app store will work in Europe? I don't care about the Cloud or smth, but about the apps. So do you think the apps will work in Europe?
Otherwise, I would propably buy a HTC Flyer which would be 100 bucks more and would propably not have as good hardware as the Kindle Fire (Dual Core CPU compared to Single Core CPU). So would you suggest me pickung up the Kindle Fire or the HTC Flyer?
I think the apps will work in europe. Only thing not working is the Amazon cloud.

They suggest that the Kindle Fire will be launched in the UK during May 2012. This can't come soon enough.
I don t thing so.
Since the new Samsung nexus 7 zoll tab is announced.
maybe amazon will sell a new KF2 here in europe
Sorry to be selfish, but I hope it's not true. I recently acquired a second KF off ebay and I live in Europe.....
for what, the nexus or the KF2 ?
Appstore to open this summer:

Christmas 2012 suggested for Kindle Fire release now:

Will it be the same specs as now or a newer model?
It's crazy that they've left it so long (legal issues right?). I'm likely just going to import one (for app development purposes, I want to optimise for the Fire and sell in the Amazon store). Will I have any trouble accessing the app store and stuff in the UK if I am using an imported one?

You won't be able to use the Amazon appstore but Google Play should work fine.
They work fine on my iOS and Android devices like a Nexus 7 2013 tablet. Was also the case with TVapp.so when it was working. So few of the Android TV apps seem to work on the NP but I (and others) can't figure out why. Wondering if the Chinese box APIKs will work since they are selling subs now rather than selling boxes. I'm on several forums now and no one can answer those questions. Might pick up another NP though as they go on sale at Staples Canada for $70 + tax...
I can connect my dell tablet, lg g3 and my samsung s4.
My nexus does not see the fireTv.
Anybody else test this out?
cheers.
Nexus devices don't see shoddy Amazon products like amazon doe snot see chromecasts in its store anymore XD
Seems odd tho my 6P casts to my Chromecast and to my Chromebook just fine ( usisng mirror app ), I wonder if its to do with the on going Amazon / Google thing
Not working with my Samsung TV and 6p either - works on my n5. Called google they transferred me to huawei. They at first said casting (TV out) is not supported and then said they'd look into it and call me back.
I thought miracast was not supported on this gen nexus devices?
Chromecast yes though.
