If I am using Tomtom and receive an incoming call, TT is interrupted by the phone screen - fine so far.
However, if I accept the call and want TT to resume so that I can drive and talk (I know I know) - instead I am just stuck on the phone screen and have to fiddle around to get TT back up.
Worse still - if I reject the call, or when it is ended, instead of TT resuming I am refreshed to the home screen.
Is any of this behavior configurable / tweakable? It seems absurd to me.
Results are the same with or worth out a BT headset BTW.
I'm, wondering whether something like S2U2 might be interfering with default behavior?
Any advice / experience much appreciated. Thanks - M.
Disabling the "slide to answer" option in S2U2 fixes this on call termination (reverts to TT) but still stuck with the phone screen when I answer a call.
If running TT in landscape (fantastic view) it annoyingly refreshes back in portrait after call though.
Guess I need to work through the jungle of S2U2 options to see if I can make this a bit more friendly as slide to answer is main reason for running S2U2 in the first place.

I understand your problem. I run TF3d and have mapped a soft key (via Registry) on the home screen to TT. When it goes to Home page it is just one press to get back to TT. Not sure if that helps or not but may or may not inspire?
Thanks for the confirmation - this seems to be a TF3D "feature" then
Sounds like a fine kludge & I'll give it a go, but "one press" on the motorway is about quarter of a mile of with my eyes off the road....
Guess you already know what you should be doing, but here's my setup.
I have a Parrot Mini Bt hands free unit, others may work similar?
If I get a call, TomTom is interrupted and the phone screen displays.
Hit the red button on the Parrot to reject the call, TomTom resumes.
Hit the green button on the Parrot to accept the call and the TomTom navigation screen is visible with muted sound throughout the call.
Hit the red button on the Parrot to end the call and TomTom voice prompts resume.
Make calls with TomTom displayed as described by one touch on the Parrot green button and speak the name. Let built in voice recognition do the rest.
Costs about half the fixed penalty fine, but without the points.
I find this to be quite the annoying problem actually. I've got the same issues on my Blackstone. TT7 is running and I'm driving (I like to let others do the hard work ;-)) and when a call comes in and when I answer it, it stays on the phone screen. I have to press the Tomtom button to get it activated again.
I never had this prblem on my Tytn.
i got stock rom and and when i recieve a phone call when i use TT, it automatically reverts to TomTom. Haven't touched any settings.
i was coming here to ask similar question, i used tomtom yesterday, and 2 x incoming calls were loat as screen wasnt displayed quick enough, then when finally managed to answer i didnt have the navigation screen any more.
the above reply about parrot head set sounds good, but is there a way without bluetooth, so can just have loud speaker for phone calls, and still display tomtom?
Danun, what parot bt you got? as may be easiest option, have you a cooked rom installed also? or stock? cheers
I hope this info is of some use to you. I have TomTom installed but not S2U2. When a call comes through it switches to the call answer screen and if I accept or reject the call it will switch back to TomTom. However, when I end the call it brings up the end call screen and then switches back to TomTom but in portrait mode (I run TomTom in landscape using Gyrator 2). About 30 seconds after the end of the call TomTom will then go back to landscape mode which is ok if I'm on a motorway and don't have to turn off onto another road. If I do have to then I lift the HD out of the car holder, hold it portrait and then landscape and put it back in and it sorts itself out.
I think that S2U2 is causing the issue with it not reverting back to TomTom but I'm guessing it getting stuck in portrait mode for a period of time could be to do with Gyrator 2.
I also use a Parrot hands free kit. If I didn't I wouldn't be able to answer every call as it sometimes takes too long to switch to the incoming call screen.

I have the older MiniKit model which I bought to use with my Artemis about 18 months ago. I just leave it clipped to the sun visor. There is now a more compact MiniKit Slim model which I would probably go for now.
I have the 1.14.405.3 (22273) WWE stock ROM on my non branded HD.
This is what I have observed when the screen is off.
When I engage voice dial on my BT headset, I will hear the confirmation beep , the screen will turn on showing the lock screen and then it will either turn off the screen or just sit there doing nothing. S-Voice will not show up or response to my voice command.
I have tried this with a Jawbone Icon and my plantronic voyager pro both behaving the same way.
The work-around so far I found is to turn on the screen to at least showing the lock screen and it will work like it should.
Is this what you guys are experiencing?
My car has built-in bluetooth support for speakerphone and I've noticed when my phone is paired with the car, s-voice does not pick up anything. Even with the phone unlocked and on the s-voice screen.
Usually, when you tap the microphone button, and the button lights up blue (like an EQ) when it's recording your voice, but with bluetooth paired, it stays flat, like it's not picking up any sound. I manually disabled bluetooth, and s-voice went back to working as normal.
Sounds like there are more symptoms to this BT/S-Voice bug than what I have experienced so far.
I spent a whole day today with my SIII and I have to say that I miss my Samsung Focus (WP7).
With my Focus I can do everything via the BT headset and the speech recognition for names is so much better than the SIII (I have tried both Google and Vlingo speech recognition). In average I had to try 5 or more times before the correct name is recognized. I drive a full size SUV and was using a Jawbone Icon headset, noise should not have been an issue.
I hope these bug will be worked out ion future updates.
I have had teh s voice completely ignore my BT headset. I fixed it by unpairing and then repairing (pun optional) the headset. This feature is weak.
for some reason recently my google maps and waze no longer mutes the audio of any music playing when it gives turn by turn directions. it used to work just fine, whenever it would start the give directions it would mute my music. any one else have this problem ...or have a fix?
Waze should still have a configuration setting to mute it; Maps this seems to be an app change as I noticed this as well. There is a setting once you are in a route where you can set it to mute during calls, I have not found any other option for muting.
weird. this is a recent thing for me. i never had to make any change in any app or do anything before. this really just started happening about a week ago for me.
Before anyone asks, I have already applied the Joying C9 server fix that allows you to use multiple GPS apps and have sound on all of them. It worked for quite some time.
Today, Waze was not giving me any vocal notifications, so I rebooted the unit and lo and behold I receive the same problem. Not only is Waze not giving me any vocal notifications but now seemingly nor is Google Maps. None at all. My radio and MP3's all still work perfectly fine.. I rebooted and still same issue.
Not only this but now for some reason my head unit is having a very difficult time locating and locking onto a GPS signal. I've never had this problem before now. The GPS because very spotty and starts reporting me places that I am not actually at and it will continue to do it until I shut down the nav app. Sometimes rebooting helps, sometimes it doesn't..Any idea as to whats going wrong?
Hello,
My new pixel 4xl is working great except for 2 reasons. The main one being I don't get turn by turn voice navigation. I get no voice at all when navigating. COnsidering I drive for Uber on the side this is very bad.
I checked all settings and they are all correct as far as I can tell - play over bluetooth and everything is on. Doesn't matter if I am on BT or not, nothing. I've tried rebooting of course.
Second smaller issue is no audio sound goes off when What's App messages come through. I've checked all those settings in Apps & NOtifications and they all look good. What gives?

Try opening the Android Auto app. on your phone & check 'Driving Mode' is not selected to 'Do Not Disturb'. I had a similar problem where my Music app was not showing up & turn by turn voice navigation was muted.
After changing this setting AA now appears to work as it should. Sounds like you might have the same problem. Anyway, worth a try. Good luck [emoji106]

Do you have captions enabled when there is voice? This may do closed captioning while silencing the volume until you adjust the volume.
Someone in the 4xl mentioned a similar issue. I think they worked out that they were on the maps beta. Coming out of that resolved the issue.
