Problem with service after replacement lcd - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Hello XDA
So yesterday bought my new lcd with frame and every little accs it costs me very cheap its like 350Gel(131$), it looks and feels original i compare with previous lcd. it was g935a version and what i bought is have same codes, so i'm sure that it is original. So after i replace my logic board to this frame and all lcd works great, more than great, no death pixels or lag.
So now i put my sim card what i used early and there no signal, mob shows me that this sim is not verizon or something like this ...
So today i read some threads and try to change my firmware from SM-935v to SM-935U(G935UUEU2APEH_CL8086184_QB9638174_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT) but odin can't install, so i flash this one(G935VVRU4BQF2_G935VVZW4BQF2) and it work... so everything is great but my problem still is not solved.
Please Help

T-Mobile wing - Broken LCD screen

I some how managed to break my phone's LCD screen. Not sure how it happened... I swear. I called T-Mobile hoping for a replacement and as expected they courteously asked me go F#%K myself. It's almost a new phone so I'm not willing to give up on it.
So now, I'm looking for a way to fix it. First, I want to know where I can find a compatible LCD screen for a descent price. The once I've come across so far are more than $100. And second, instructions on how to replace the screen.
Any help with this will be truly appreciated.
Thanks!
Anyone ever figure out the replacement process? My daughter broke hers yesterday.
Thanks
when you order a screen..it should come with tools.
you use those to remove the housing..
then you basically unplug the old LCD touch display and plug in the new one..
i think.
I saw the higher priced lcd's on ebay that included tools & instructions. I basically have the tools I need. I would just like to have the instructions and an lcd. Wny are things like this so hard to find nowadays.

I have the instruction on how to do replacement for LCD (t-mobile wing) only to take out screws and if your not aware of every detailed of what your doing your probably end up killing your WING
Go on ebay and look for a ebay seller by the name of lcd4pda. I talked to him in email about the lcd screen, he has the tmobile wing lcd in stock with tools and instructions. 65.00 to 85 bux to get one and it comes with the digitaltizer on it which my wing has a hole in the digitalizer and i have to order a new lcd, hes my best bet.
New LCD, still not working
I dropped my Wing a week ago and it seemed fine. Put it in my pocket and then took it out a couple hours later and the screen had about 4 cracks in it. I assumed it was because I had dropped it earlier. The screen was white except for some blue areas where the cracking was most severe.
I ordered a brand new replacement LCD screen on ebay and just finished installing it. To my utter dismay the screen is still completely white!! It seems to respond to my touch (it goes brighter when I touch it), and it turns on and off w/ the power switch, but there is nothing but white on the screen.
Is it possible I got the connection loose when I installed it? Or is it likely there's something else wrong with my phone? Thanks in advance for any help.
It's probably a bad connection. Did you ever think you'd have to go through so much disassembly to replace the screen? Just so everyone knows, lcd4pda is legit.
Edit: Shipping was extremely high ($16.99). The location on eBay is shown as Canada but, it comes from Virginia. via First Class. I checked shipping to my location on the USPS site. It only cost $1.98. The package weight is 6oz.
Tell me about it! I had to practically start taking photographs to remember where all of the pieces and screws went. I dropped one of the screws on the ground and it took me 10 minutes to find . I'll disassemble again later tonight and refit all of the connections to see if that makes a difference. I sure hope so.
For those replacing their screens, the service manual:
http://www.modaco.com/content/Pocke...58716/HTC-Service-Manuals-Dismantling-Guides/
has a good set of instructions on how to disassemble the Wing. The hardest part is when you have to use a credit card or something similar to unseat the keyboard. You actually have to insert the card or other plastic tool between the edge of the keyboard and the edge of the phone. The pictures confused me because it seemed like I was supposed to insert the card flat into the side of the phone but really, if your phone is sitting on top of the table, you actually insert the card DOWN into this small space.
Also, for those that are new to removing the connections that are in the phone (like I was), there is usually some tape that you have to first remove before you can unhook the connection.
It worked! The connection from the screen to the phone, the one underneath the RF board, wasn't pushed in quite far enough. I reseated it and voila! I now have a working phone again that can not only receive calls but can make them now!
Now that I know it works, I can also recommend seller superpc168 on ebay. $49.75 for the screen and I spent $15 for 2-day UPS shipping.
Thanks cracula. Just ordered a screen on ebay. Hopefully I should be able to fix my phone.
still have white screen.
does anyone know what i can do to fix that. i tried reseating everything but it seems to still have the white screen. any help will be appreciated.
Replacement Wing Lcd
I got a Replacement LCD for my WING for $55 at WWW.HTCLCD.COM
..........
The weirdest thing!
I found the manual through various places including here on the site. With the manual every thing went fine. EXCEPT THAT NOW THE MAJORITY OF THE KEYBOARD BUTTONS AREN'T WORKING. It must be a faulty connection on my part of course. I'm gonna give it another shot tonight and see if it works a gain. I found the screen on the fonlogix site(blackberry8100parts.com).
Broken lcd tmobile wing
i just had my wing lcd screen fixed but by someone who doesn't work for tmobile he fixes phones and installs iphone programs on them also.. He charged me $100 to fix my lcd screen, tmobile wanted between $150 to $250 to fix it i told tmobile screw it i'll find somwhere and i did.. If you can find an outside source to fix your phone do so..
i broke my screen on my tmobile wing a while back.....was taking a 7 hour drive and the phone was sitting on the passenger seat in the sun for a few hours, later on that evening i picked it up and noticed i had a nice big crack on the screen from top to bottom somehow
called tmobile, they told me i had been paying the insurance they gave me the phone # to the insurance people, called them....paid a $100 deductible and got a brand new replacement wing
never thought i'd use the insurance, glad it came handy!
if its under warrenty dont tell them its broken say its a bloack screen theyll send you a new one and they will charge you once you send it back 100 dlrs for out of warrenty thats not bad for another phone wing
https://blackberry8100parts.3dcarts...ment-LCD-W-Touch-Screen-Digitizer_p_6-69.html
only $55. they sent me the screen but i had to remind them... a bit slow (nearly 5 days to process the order) but it is good and they provide instructions

Screen Replacement Services
Another option, especially for those not comfortable with tearing apart small electronics, is to have the phone repaired by a professional. I actually own a small company called Jet City Devices that can replace the screen on your T-Mobile Wing. The cost is a lot lower than a new phone and you'll have your phone back - with all of the data in tact - in under a week.
Just an option for those that don't want to spend their time trying to figure out how to fix their Wing themselves.

do i9506 and i9505 have same displays?

Hey
If I were you, I would contact Samsung support by mail or phone and ask them if this statement is true. I could believe it's possible, but again you never know when it comes to Samsung. They could have changed a little bit...

Done. The Support couldnt give me an answer on my question.. I will see what happens.
U can compare the devices on different internet sites and u will see that there is NO difference between those displays
well, there might be no difference, but actually, yes there was ! o:
i got it back yesterday, and it worked for 1.5 hours with restarting whole time and than it was dead and didnt boot normal or into recovery or download mode.
Now they have to reapair it better.. with i9506 display that will work 100%

yes.. they have differences.. if you control the codes on the seller sites you can see that they are different and incompatibles. it seems also that i9506 is a little brighter and larger. anyway the product codes are different
Hello.
So? Is there any happy ending?
I have changed display from i9505 too. and Phone is hanging, turning off and overheating...
Im interested if this is because of different display or because phone was wet when damaged display...
update: removed Antenna + Loudspeaker. phone still hot. but works now. So i do not believe that it is because of screen....

hey, nice to hear that it might not be the screen, for me the result is still unknown. My device was not working after letting them put i9505 display in it. It worked for quite an hour, than it restarted very very often and suddenly it didnt do anything at all. No Download mode or recovery mode too.
The shop said, that the software was completely deleted for no reason. but they flashed the firmware again but the problem with rebooting and after all having a "dead" device was still there. Now they are trying to find whats cauing this problem, and the will send it to samsung if they dont have a plan what it could be ( but i definetly know, that it has to do something with the screen, because earlier, befrore the display change, EVERYTHING worked fine!).
Im so excited how it will end, and especially, who is going to pay, if samsung has to repair what the shop has done wrong
Its really interesting....
I think they could break something when disassembling screen... It was quite difficult to remove some flexible cables as they were stick to screen.
If you have Samsung warranty then you can take only to Samsung dealers to repair, otherwise you loose warranty. That's how it is in my country.
update: My s4 was dead for half a day. but now fully working. have already flashed recovery and rooted... works like a charm
(it were restarting sometimes, after rooting restarts somehow have stopped)

finally i think (and i hope) i got a solution. Thex have ordered a i9506 display unit and finally understood that theyve done something wrong. now they will try to fix it and see if the fault was caused by the screen or not ^^ in some days i will now more
Well after trying to learn a bit about difference between i9505 and i9506 and shv-e330s i came to a conclusion that they might be the same device if samsung didnt magically decide to complicate things. I9505 and i9506 have different hardware and their displays are obviously not interchangeable. But, nowhere on the entire frickin internet was i able to understand is i9506 actually shv-e330s. Or are their screens compatible. So i asked samsung like this:
Hello! I would like to ask is there a possibility to replace a broken display on SHV-E330S S4. My father purchased the phone in South Korea and brought it to Croatia, but the phone fell and broke the LCD display. I am trying to find the display for SHV-E330S but I cant find any on the internet. My questions are - can I order a replacement display from Samsung directly? Or can I use the display for i9506 S4? They seem to be same variations regarding hardware inside, except for the DVB tuner antenna for SHV-E330S. Thank You in advance for Your answer.
Their response was just that they cant offer service outside of korea and that they are very sorry. Havent even mentioned the question about i9506 and shv-e330s.
So there ya go. You got shv-e330s outside korea? No help.
different screens
Hello there,
yes it is a different screen
I suppose it is interchangeable because I9500 or I9505 screen (I can't remember exactly) is working fine on my phone. BTW, I got the part and replaced by myself.
But, please note if they replaced your front panel as well, probably your MB was damaged. The front panel is a different one.

Hey,
Yes there seems to be a problem, at least you cannot use a i9506 screen on a i9505 Phone.
Seems to be a Problem with the connector, because the screen works until somewhat applies too much force on the conector (not much, just a tip with the finger is enough), like the backcase does when it is clipped back on. So the connectors might differ on the on the models. Hope this helps someone.

I sanded down the raised metal bit on the right of the motherboard mounting area. It fits almost but I have that pressure issue. Do you have more info so I can figure out what connector is pushed

(Network)Hardware differences between G935T and G935F -experienced guys, please look

Aloha !
Couldnt find any info about this on the web. If you have any info please share.
Situation:
I've got T-Mobile S7 Edge 935T from U.S.. Unlocked by T-Mobile.
I'm in Europe.
Phone worked correctly till...
I run my car over my phone (my precious!) accidentally. Phone works but screen is shattered.
Ordered new screen. (with frame etc., like this one -> CLICK
Replaced.
Phone cannot find network.
What I did?
Looked over the internet how to repair "Error while searching network". Nothing helped. (in and out sim, unpin battery etc.)
1. Screen which I ordered was for G935F because couldnt find any for "G935T"
2. Some europe sellers say that screen which they sell is for any edge "T", "F" "V" etc. etc.
3. Couldnt find any information if there is any differences between screens designed for T or F versions.
So I assumed that there is no difference (its just bloody screen...)
Question:
What do you think about it ? Could there be some diffrences between screen sets ?
Should I buy new screen from US ? I would't like to do this ;/ Its not cheap, shipping etc And I cannot be sure it will work.
What do you think fellows?
I replaced my phone with broken screen again and it started work again, it sees network (see picture attached,)
(Sorry for grammar, still learning)

This depends, if you're getting the SCREEN ONLY(LCD Assembly), or screen WITH HOUSING. With Housing you might run into issues cause there are slight hardware placement differences, but LCD Assembly only they all work the same,

Yes, you right. It was LCD with Housing (Screen, frame...).
I need to buy LCD assembly for G935T.
The bad thing is I dont see any new LCD assemblies on ebay. Only screens or used LCD assemblies.
Is there any good website with those parts ?

That's because most people think all the models have the exact same things in the exact same place, but GSM/CDMA/International models do have slight differences, thats why when we do repairs and have to use frames, we make sure its the right model.
The 935F is an international model, so the placement might be off or something is not in contact properly, can you take a picture of both frames, 935F and 935T side by side(935F wont work with 935T btw, I checked)? With the motherboard off of course. Also I saw few newer listings on ebay for around 300~.
Oh, and getting a 935T with housing is probably your best choice unless you know what you're doing, cause you might cut into the wrong place and cut off the flex cable for Menu/Home/Back button. But then again, you can just go rough on it with a heat gun and get it off since the LCD is already a goner.

I already sent back 935F assembly with housing so I am not able to check the differences. I'm going to order screen only (screen assembly) and - as you wrote - play with hair dryer
In case of ordering those things its akward situation. I can buy here (Poland) screen with housing for about 270$ (only for F) or just screen for ekhm... 325$ :silly:
I'd like to order screen with housing (fot T) from abroad (China, USA) but I cannot find any new ones (seriously).
I'm not sure about XDA rules in case sharing links for auctions but if you will see any screen with housing let me know
G935T searching
i have this phone from customer and it appears is searching only.
i found out that the customer had already changed the screen.

Samsung galaxy s4 "lcd" screen replacement

Hi, im the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S4, and yesterday I broke the LCD Screen , but all the other functions work, like the little notification light, etc. The shop I normally go to charge me 150C$ to repair the screen,m and I tought it was a bit excesive considering I can buy replacement kit off Ebay for like 80C$. I wanted to have your feedback on my idea to do it myself and also I'm having trouble finding the right screen. I have a SGH-M919V a canadian model and I didn't see any screen specific to that model, only M919 screen, so does it gonna work if I put an M919 lcd screen on my M919V ?
Thank you !

It's sadly annoying to change the screen on galaxy S phones. You have to start from the back and basically tear the entire phone down.
There is a guide on ifixit for tearing it down but these kits im seeing on ebay for 75 seem to be ones that need glued in since they aren't the entire display assembly. I would look over that guide and see if your comfortable with that sort of stuff. It may be worth it for you to just pay the 150 vs potentially messing your phone up in the process. The other option is sell the phone and get a S5/S6 or some other upgrade?
Alright, thank you for your help and your quick answer ! I'm still in reflexion about all this, but you certainly help the process.
Thank you again !
Actually, I find the s4 to be very easy to take apart. I have repalced the screens on 4 phones with no problem.
If you buy a replacement screen, make sure you get a pre-assembled frame/lcd/glass unit. It's easy to damage the frame when you remove it from the old screen and having the frame pre-installed is not too much more than the cost of the lcd/glass.

SM-T580 Screen flickering problem

Hi guys,
We have a bunch(200) of Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (wifi) running Marshmallow on firmware: MMB29K.T580UEU1APF5.
About 10% of the tablets have been starting to make this trouble after 3-6 months of installation.
Actually it seems pretty random and they are installed in different buildings.
They all have twrp installed, rooted and running xposed framework.
This is a really big concern for us.
I would like to know if anybody had this problem in the past.
I linked a video in attchment.
EDIT: Here is the video of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54DCZt9i49M&feature=youtu.be
Thanks in advance
David
Edit guys i uploaded the video on a youtube channel.
We noticed that once this problem occured, sometimes the flicker stops, but there are white lines where white text is present in the interface.
I will upload an other video showing the lines being permanent on the screen after the flicker problem occurs.
We sent 4 of them to samsung and they told us that the motherboard needed to be changed and that the screen/display had no problem.
We did change the board on one of the unit and the problem is still there.
I saw a couple of post reporting this problem, it would be fun to know what is causing this problem.
We are currently suspecting the TWRP recovery, so we reflashed the stock recovery.img on the units that are not having the problem at the moment and hope this will not happen again.
Thanks in advance for your help
Here is the other video I was talking bout:
https://youtu.be/OonoNfWT5ZE
I joined a picture of my tablet when I put it in download mode, the ghosting is pretty intense on that one.
When I swipe the ghosting is less intense because it changes the background color.
We have been using samsung tablets for the last 6 years and this is the first model of tablet that does this.
I think Samsung cheaped out the quality of their screen and when they stay on the same page for a long period of time it seems to ghost very easily on this model.
Here are the tablets we used in the past and had no screen problem yet:
Samsung galaxy Tab 2 10.1 PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Samsung galaxy Tab 4 10.1 TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Samsung galaxy Tab A 9.7 TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Samsung galaxy Tab A 10.1 PLS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors (The one we are using right now having the problem)
Is it the PLS LCD being cheaper then the other screen we used in the past?
This is the LCD problem, not mainboard. Since you have a bunch of them, it's very easy to verify by swapping mainboard and LCD.
Use a working LCD to verify mainboard.
Use a working mainboard to verify LCD. In your case, swapping a working mainboard and the vertical lines are the same as old mainboard, you know this is a defective LCD. It takes only 5 minutes to swapping mainboard.

Yes this is what we did and in fact the LCD is the problem.
We send 4 of them to Samsung, and they told us it was the mainboard.. which is clearly a lie.
But since the tablets have been rooted they don't want to repair the units on their own charge, which we were awared of.
They were asking 200$ to repair the unit ... which is almost the price of the tablet.
I really think that this lcd is very cheap and that we will need to close the screens every day during a certain period of time to avoid this problem on this generation.
But this should not happen..
Have any advice?
thank you
This whole LCD assembly is only around $61 from AliExpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/For...29-42b1-8329-e12874b332ad&transAbTest=ae803_5
Cheaper if you know how to remove the LCD frame and reuse the home button, this one is only around $42
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New...29-42b1-8329-e12874b332ad&transAbTest=ae803_5
It takes me only under 15 minutes or less to change the LCD assembly. This is OEM part as Samsung orders parts from China, don't worry about fake parts as all Samsung parts are from China

Have any advice?

Samsung policy is they don't fix rooted tablet ( Knox count is more the 1 ) unless you agree to change the mainboard . It's a no point to me, flash back the official firmware, root will be gone but the Knox count won't go back to zero.
You should change LCD or setting the screen off after 30 minutes to prevent damages due to permanent ON.
LCD is only around $60, why pay $200 to change it. They properly change both LCD and mainboard. Rooted tablet won't have display issue unless you use custom ROM.
