Search function in settings not working properly. - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

I don't know if it was the latest security update that did this or I messed up some internal setting but the search function in settings only shows links to advanced settings when searching for something (like Developer options or installing WPA certificates, testing, etc).
Simple things such as Wallpaper, Accessibility settings, Keyboard, etc. do not show up when searched

O2 Mini - Removing access to Bluetooth and Wifi

Hi
I've been looking through the forums and can find plenty to solve bluetooth transfer problems, but I am after the opposite. I am trying to lock out access to the following, but can't find anything on the web (unless I have missed it).
Comm Manager (icon on PPC Desktop)
Bluetooth (from Settings -> Connections menu too)
Wi-Fi (from Settings -> Connections menu too)
MMS - if this is possible
PocketMSN
Beam (from Settings -> Connections menu)
Wireless LAN (from Settings -> Connections menu)
Also, if possible, does anyone know how to hide the shortcut for the 'Clear Storage' option, or hiding the passcode it asks for so you still have to enter it, but it doesn't tell you what to enter?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance

How to NOT allow calls while on EVDO?

I am wondering if there is any way to send all incoming calls to voicemail when I am using PDAnet to get online. I know there is a PDAnet setting to "allow calls when connected" but even if I uncheck this, calls still come through and discconect my internet.
The reason I'm posting this here is because if something specific to PDAnet isn't available, or possible, is there anything that I can do to the phone to not have incoming calls disconnect my internet connection? I had a Motorola Q for a little while, and there is a "bug" that actually does this automatically (sends call to voicemail while on EVDO). It was a setting in the DEBUG menu, in the field test option, called DDTM, and it was by default on (I think), and so people had to change that to off (could be switched) to allow incoming calls. It was perfect for me though. Now, I think I tried looking for a DDTM setting in the mogul and I had found it a while back, but I dont think it did anything with regard to my situation. So my questions are:
Is there anything with PDAnet that I can do besides the setting I talked about? Registry or something...?
If nothing with PDAnet, then does anyone know how to change the DDTM setting on a mogul? I got into the DEBUG menu (##33284#) and I didnt find any DDTM setting there.
Besides the DDTM setting (since it hasn't worked for me in the past) is there any other method you guys can think of that will do what I want?
Thanks!!
Try going to phone settings > services > mode of operation > change from hybrid to EVDO only.

Click to collapse
Hmm, that does seem to work for my last option. But I cant receive any calls at all when in this mode, so I guess I would have to manually change this each time . Is there any way this entry can be automatically changed somehow with a script or a registry change?
How I dont see mode of operation under services list. This is all I have:
Location setting, Voice Privacy, Network Service, TTY Mode, and Time Sync
Found this on an old thread somewhere.
edit the registry to make that option appear in the services list. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHING\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting
Change HiddenPreferenceMode from 1 to 0
I am on WM6 and the correct registry to change to make the "Mode of Operation" selection appear is: HiddenModeOperationPage (set value to 1 to hide, and 0 to show).

App or Shortcut: [Settings -> Connections -> Advanced -> Select Networks]

Hi,
Phone: HTC Touch Diamond (P3700)
OS: WM6.1 Professional
I'm new to the forum, sorry if this had been covered already, I tried to use the search, but couldn't find anything.
Basically, what I'm looking for is an app that allows me to access the Network Management quickly so that I can switch the connection settings from the provider's to My Work Network or another without going through [Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Advanced -> Select Networks] every single time. Or perhaps a way to create a shortcut instead?
I'm looking for this because I need to change it when I'm at home or on the road. At home, where WiFi is available, I always change it to My Work Network on both Internet and private network settings to ensure that I'm not connecting through my provider. And when I'm on road, I'd change it back to my provider's settings so that I can access their free websites.
Thanks.
Ok, after some more research, so far the closest thing I found is making a shortcut to Windows\remnet.exe.

Wifi - How to add a hidden wifi network

Hi, got the HTC HD2 (Leo) since last week. I searched with Google, i search this forum, I read the wiki, faq and several posts, i read the 'don't start a thread!' post, still no luck.
At my work we us a non-broadcast wireless network (wifi) in other words, it's hidden. On my old P3300 with default windows mobile, I could easily add a network manually, but now with htc sense I can't find this option. Any idea if this is possible?
To make things clear: wifi IS working, when I go to the wifi settings I see some broadcasted networks but no option to add a network manually. The advanced menu don't give me that option neither.
Thanks, Paul
When you have the wifi settings open, click Advanced and then the "Change Network" button. Then just click "Add New". I guess you'll recognise the rest after that.
Good luck
Thanks,
I finally found it under Settings -> Menu -> More settings.

Change Chrome Google Default Seach Engine

My current default Google search engine is google.co.id because I am located in Indonesia but I want to change it to Google.com. How can I change it? Because every time I do a search, the results will be in Bahasa Indonesia while I need it to be in English
I tried VPN but its still defaulting to google.co.id

I think I found the solution. If you want to remove country specific Google search engine, go to settings > Device > Apps and clear Data for Chrome.
Then connect to US based VPN. Open Chrome. Go to settings > Privacy > Content settings. Unselect "Enable Location". Try to use and search something. Under Settings > Basics, your search engine should be google.com and not other country specific google search engine.
The above works for me and hope it works for you guys also.
