Replying to a message through notification bar - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi there guys, new guy here... I have an S8 for the past few weeks and I have a small issue with it that I can't find a workaround. When I receive a message, I usually like to reply from the notification bar. Just pull down, hit reply and write. I used to do this on my old phone (LG G3) but with the S8 I can't write a message longer than 70 letters. No matter what. If I want to write a bigger one I have to go to the message app and write from there. Do you how to fix this guys?

Anyone can help me out?

I have S8. And I can write as long as I want from my notification bar. I wonder why. Maybe try changing the SMS app? I use Textra.

I can too. But usually for longer message I enter the app it self

[Q] Messaging > New Message

I truly love my S4 but this is driving me insane.
When receiving a message instead of telling me who it's from and an idea of what the message is... I get this:
Edit: Apparently I can't post an image of the issue until after 10 posts. In any case, my notification, both on the lock screen and on the notification bar, say Messaging, and underneath says New Message. Normally, or at least with my S3, it would show who the text message is from, and then a small preview of what the message says.
Has anyone else had this issue or know of a fix? I am trying to stay away from rooting my phone, for now. I am using Nova Launcher Prime but I don't see why this would effect anything. A reboot has done nothing so far.
In message app enter menu and after, settings thhan tick the last option before signature, in italian "anteprima messaggio"

Thanks. For some reason I didn't think to go into the settings of the actual messaging screen. I was able to put a check mark beside "Preview Message" and that has solved my issue. Thanks Again!

I guess Samsung left it off to keep the privacy of unexperienced users on Android that have no idea how to change settings by themselves.

I'm almost definitely sure mine was on by default as I turned it off. It showed the message on the lock screen too.

[Q] Set screen to not turn on after I receive a text

I bought an LG G2 yesterday after changing my mind and not buying a Note 3 instead. It's the T-Mobile version in black (fingerprint magnet, no white ones in stock unfortunately). I'm coming from a Galaxy S2, and everything feels amazing compared to it. There's one thing I don't like, and that I can't figure out... When I get a text on my LG G2, the screen lights up, every single time. I'm a pretty heavy text user, and I average about 10,000 texts a month. Sometimes I'm in a lecture and I can't text back or use my phone, but it's sitting in my pocket with the screen on wasting my battery and opening up all kinds of apps. How do I disable this? Thanks.
I know you can change text apps that have this option.

If you are using the stock TXT app. Open the App/hit button for the menu, then settings/notifications. you should be able to do what you want there.

That's what I tried, but there's nothing about the screen in there.
I have notifications enabled, new message pop-up enabled, preview enabled, notification sound (text ringtone), vibrate set to always, and repeat alert set to every 2 minutes. Besides those settings, there's nothing, and none of them control the screen unfortunately.

Cant you just on click "notifications display message notification" ??
I'm using the app SMS pop-up to manage all my SMS notification.
The stock app has it's notifications all turned off.
As for SMS popup, there is a setting to keep the screen off when SMS is received.
Well.. I don't like the screen to turn on as well (I don't use any lock screens) and also, I like the pop up feature.

It's just a check box, so if I uncheck that box, I don't get any notifications.

Although that's not the optimal solution, I guess it'll have to do. I'll try that right now, thank you for your help.

How to get rid of the "slide to unlock/fast charging" lockscreen message?

I've been looking around online and have had no success.
I don't want to to use any lockscreen apps, I've tried many of them.
I'm rooted and have xposed installed still I have yet to come across any app or module which gets rid of this annoying text.
Any ideas?
searched for ages for an solution to this problem:
only solution:
Xposed --> Custom Text
With the app you can change every letter in every app on every site very easily. just click on lock screen search for the sentence you want to change and delete all letters. now nothing appears anymore

Thanks for the reply man, I was beginning to lose hope.
I'm trying to find the name of the process/app which holds the lockscreen text. Do you happen to remember what it was called?
EDIT- Found it! Its systemui. The mod works mostly, and I was able to remove that pesky text. Thanks a lot!

Never mind. I found it. You must hold your finger on notification for 1 second and then a message appears the asks ig you want to mark all notifications as read.
Hey. Have you managed to get it to work with Android Wear or are you using another app (Mediatek or Fundo)?
