is there a google camera app that supports the Snapdragon 808?
If you're on nougat, then Google camera 4.1 will only work.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-4-1-006-135988111-release/
You'll only need to check the video resolution, as on 1080p Google camera will fc on video record.
If you're on custom rom, then you can use Google camera version up to 5.0 - but I haven't tested it
The aim of using google camera is to use hdr+ and there is no ported version for stock rom that can use it so installing 4.1 and using will shield the same or worst results that stock camera.

Does anyone uses the camera JB+ application (com.moblynx.camerajbplus), I don't like the CM 10 default one.
I tried the AnTerNoZ zip for the CM 10+ camera, but it just doesn't work properly.
Just want a little advice before buy it.
Thanks.

It has a trial version, I will give it a try.
Thanks for the tip.
Also if I may recommend LGcamera. Has quite a lot of options which are not easily accessible without editing system files.

ive used that aplication, it worken for me all the time
Best camera app for JB
I tried Camera JB+ application & it's like Quarx CM10 camera app - it still lags on video recording... Better install galery ics & camera ics from Google Play. On Camera ICS app video is recording fine without lag. The JB camera apps is brokened on Jelly Bean... Because it conflicts with old moto binaries. On camera ics with old moto binares is fine (because you know that on CM9.1 video rec is fixed). Also I tried LG camera app (it can't save settings on defy etc. If I change focus settings & after save it's focusing fine when you exit it & open - camera settings is gone (including auto-focus). So best camera app for JB is Camera ICS (or paid ICS+ version)... also if you install Camera ICS, unistall system Gallery.apk & when also install Gallery ICS from market.
flash this zip,
flash this *****, it works on me! cm 10.1 View attachment 2010703
hello ive been trying a lot of custom roms and for me CM12.1 is the smoothest rom with acceptable batterylife, but on the downside the camera quality is super awfull and got no hdr mode any tips to bring back the image quality on CM12.1 or atleast getting hdr support?
im using opengapps
and daily latest nightlies
Hi there!
You can use any third-party app to get HDR. About camera quality, unfortunately it comes from the ROM itself and somewhat not fixable.

Or you could try a gpe rom. I don't know about 5.1 but 5.0 had working HDR.
5.1 had HDR too
It says I got HDR even now with Google camera, so I believe you should change the camera app only.
try "a better camera unlocked", this app does a great job, and hold steady
Until now camera is not good in lineage OS 14.1 but which is the best app so far?
this camera is not good, end of story, if you really need a great camera you should bought another phone.
Go back to stock.
Does anyone have the EUI camera app APK to side load?

No, camera Sensor is not Bad, but in lineage OS 14.1 it is not good. I think maybe if Nougat will be released official, the camera will improve and it will make its way to lineage OS 14.1 too.
Dies this make sense?

Can we simply install it as apk?
Try SnapIt camera
I dont find snapit.
Is there any other good camera app. Maybe an .apk to download driectly
Google camera is good
I've just switched to A Better Camera. So far so good, has HDR & Panarama options, easy to use UI. It does go wonky with displayed aspect ratios when previewing, but the pictures turn out good.

+1 for A Better Camera app. Works very well compared to stock app.
the best camera are 2:
1) a better camera (but the gui is horrible)
2) snap camera hdr
see you!
I use open camera. It's a very powerful app. You can adjust ISO, expose time, manual focus, expose lock. It's almost with all the function of SLR. I love it very much.
just curious. does anyone have any photo comparisons of stock vs lineage? i bought the phone recently and it shipped with lineage so i have no idea what the camera difference actually was, but i do think that camera kinda sucks. my s5 shot better photos.
Not specific for Lineage, but is there a camera app that do digital image stabilization for video?
I think the picture mode is quite decent with stock camera app, but the video mode is disastrous...
+1 on Open Camera. Also looking at but haven't yet downloaded or tested Qualcom's Snapdragon Camera. I also think the Snapdragon camera may be our default Lineage camera - so I'll likely stick with Open Camera.
Camera
I'm using moto z ported camera app. It's better then lineageOs one.

I tried:
google camera, it doesn't work;
jishnu htc one m9 (and m10) camera ports, work but are buggy;
open camera, not so great after all.
So far the best one, and i'm settled on it with my rom, is aforementioned moto z camera app.
cheers

A Better Camera Unlocked - https://lensdump.com/i/KzAn0 - https://lensdump.com/i/Kz28F - https://lensdump.com/i/KSR4T - https://lensdump.com/i/KSki7
Personal opinion: After a careful analysis of the photos, I think that Bacon Camera is the one that keeps the details "richer" even if it tends to underexpose the photos.
The photos with Bacon Camera are indeed "uncompressed" in BMP format.
Google Camera and A Better Camera Unlocked (both with HDR enabled) have a better balance of lights and shadows, but they lose a lot of detail by mixing more photos.
On my Note3 previously, it shot decent pics on the samsung ROM, but when I flashed custom ROMs (AOSP) and used the non-samsung camera app pics looked horrible.
Currently on a Nexus 6p, and I like the fact that irregardless of the ROM I use, the default camera app (e.g. Google Camera) can always shoot nice pics.
Contemplating the OP5 - is this the same with OP5? If I move from the stock ROM to any of the custom ROMs, will the camera app consistently be able to shoot the same quality pics/videos?
I stand to be corrected here..
Currently the OP camera isn't available on non-oxygen stock roms.
The quality of photos using Google Camera (or other non-OP camera apps) is generally as good as the OP camera app, and some people would say better, as the OP camera app has aggressive smoothing which is noticeable when you zoom in on a photo. The watercolour effect.
The downside of non-OP camera apps is that there isn't support for the second lens. This rules out the 2X optical zoom, and also the OP Portrait mode.
There is also a lack of support for 1080p 60fps video, and I *think* EIS for 1080p and 4k videos.
There is OOS camera in RR unofficial
I'm using crDroid 4.6.1
My device is XT1643 Moto G4 Plus
Rooted.
Installed Moto camera 2 and EIS enabler from @Deivid_21's thread.
Now, video recording works with Moto camera 2!!
Could someone try this and post their results here?
Video recording works through other cameras in oreo roms.......it doesn't work in the camera in the inbuilt camera of rom.......i.e the camera which came preinstalled with the rom
