Hi Newbie here, My phone is showing two different times on the phones main screen. The small time on the top bar is correct but the larger time is 1 hour ahead. Any ideas to correct this would be appreciated.

I have had this phone for just over a month now. Everything has been working perfect except for the last 2 days.
What is happening is that there seems to be a "phantom" tap on the screen in the right upper corner (device facing you - under the small camera) resulting in
A, Phone always going to today screen, so programs keep closing by themselves as the X button is being pressed by the "Phantom" tap
B, In the top right corner (as described above) if one looks closely there is the animation of the circle with little white balls - the same on gets when one taps and hold the stylus before the menu pops up.
When this starts happening the phone is unusable as everything that is opened is closed by itself. At time the screen locks also and it does not respond to the stylus.
Strangely enough this tends to happen during the hot periods of the day and when the phone has been used for some time. Then if i remove battery let phone off for some time and restart it everything is back to normal for a couple of hours but then problem recurs.
I did a hard reset as to exclude any application that could cause this and the problem still persisted.
Apart from this screen alignment works perfect - no issues with that
The serial number of my phone is HT648F######
Rom Version - 1.20.161.6
Rom Date - 08/02/06
Radio Version - 1.03.06.00
Anyone had a similar problem please
Any help and suggestion are greatly appreciated
Ken

Pardon the silly question but I did a forum search first...
Every phone I've ever had has always given me 2 things on the top line of every screen built-in. i.e. no tricks, or hacks needed:
- phone signal indicator
- battery status indicator
Unless I've missed the obvious, I can't seem to get a battery status indicator on the top line of the screen on my ATT 8525. What gives?
SPB pocket plus 3 has the batt indicator on every screen, in the form of a dotted/dash line across the very top edge of the screen. looks like ----------------
half the screen = half battery left
As I said in my original post. Every phone I've ever used just shows it on the screen by default. I realize I can always spend even more money to make it happen.
I just find it hard to stomach that a multi 100's $ phone (or maybe it's the OS) can't show me a battery indicator without having to buy 3rd-party stuff...
Yes, its in (or not...) the os.
Google for Batti. It's free, does the same and more.

You can get the battery status on your 8525! It will replace the area were the time is given. You can still select 'show time in programs' option and it will show time on any screen except for the home screen. I use the HTC today plugin so Ive got time there.
The good thing about putting the battery indicator on the top bar is that it gives you the % of battery remaining (in 10% steps of course)
I believe its in the hermes wiki on registry stuff....
Of course it does require a registry editor (I believe that we all need to get into it eventually, so if you have not yet then maybe it's time..)
from the wiki..

My MDA is about 16 months old, so the warranty lapsed, but the contract with T-mobile does not expire for about 7 more months.
Recently there appeared about 4 vertical (in portrait, horisontal in landscape) pixel-wide white lines going through all the length of the screen. It took some adjusting, but I can still make it work. They are on almost the very side of the screen.
But now at random times my screen gets completely mis-aligned. I am pressing in one place, something completly different gets pressed on screen. And the error is not even consistent throughout the screen - meaning if the error is, say, 2 cm to the left in one part of the screen, is will not necessarily be the same 2 cm to the left in another part of the screen. Soft rebooting does not help, only "Align Screen" in "Settings" does.
Any ideas how to correct this? Is hard reboot likely to help, you think? Thanks.
That sounds like a hardware fault, and probably requires a new screen. I cannot see how software faults would cause the symptoms your describing!

Well you can either hard reset, or continue with the scrreen issues. A hard reset should solve this problem, but remember all data installed in the main memory will be lost. It may good to create new folders on your storage card and copy data from the main memory to those folders prior to a hard reset.ie: windows favorites, ring tones, wmp skins, cabs, zips, etc.
actually re-reading your message, i change my thoughts and agree with hotdog. It probably is actually a software fault due to the fact it changes when you put it into different orientation. Reflash your rom if possible.
Hi, recently new on android devices, software, development etc. This is very good forum. Greets to all.
Now my problem, today installed the Battery Icon Mod on my Galaxy S, rebooted and then show the start animation, then the screen turns black, the phone vibrates in a rare pattern and sometimes appear a mouse pointer on the upper left corner.
I have an Galaxy S (B) version, with DTV. I'm hoping your help.
A new brick, i don't want pleaseee
Galaxy S2
2 months old
no custom roms and not unlocked
no problems prior to this
On 3 network
assuming the issue is a screen related problem:
The screen at first was flickering bright lines on and off in random positions and also the lower segment of the screen would be black and not visible.
Then within about 30 minutes of this happening 90% of the screen has been black, with just the notification bar visible.
Bringing you up to date on the situation now. The screen is completely black but the device is definitely still on and fully working as I have received 2 text messages in the time of writing this and also I was able to press the camera app and auto focus and take a picture and view it on my laptop but the screen remained black the entire time while i did this.
Not sure what to do with the phone as I'm unable to reboot in recovery mode or restore to factory settings.
I will be going into the three shop now and seeing if they can replace the handset.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated
