Hey all, looking for some experiences with the Dual Sim S8 Variant. I'm looking at purchasing one from someone who claims it's the Enxyos version, but I'm having a hard time finding any ROM or Root information for Enxyos versions. I'm a pure Android fan but my 6P is dying and the Pixels are just too far out of my price range. Any advice would be great, thanks.

I am using a dual sim variant. It's rocking with 5 to 6 hours screen on time.
I haven't tried Root since I didn't feel the need to do it. OPO was the last phone I rooted and polluted.
I am using SM-G950FD which is the dual SIM Exynos variant. I rooted following this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/recovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-exynos-t3594902.
Most of the stable ROMs we have for S8 are debloated and patched Samsung ROMs. I am running Renovate ICE.
All the information you need is here. Just search for it. Hope this info helps.

Does anyone know if this dual sim version of the phone will be getting an international release?
I know the S4 Mini dual sim is already out, but I'd rather get an S4 with actual S4 advertised functions.
I'm very tempted to buy this from China and root it, but I hear that it's pretty unstable. I'd much rather wait for an international release, but I also dont want to be waiting around for nothing...
If anyone has heard anything or any opinions on whether markets outside of China will ever see this phone, please share your news here.
Thanks!
No one has any info/opinions?

I doubt it, I own i9502 dual sim, it's stable using SVA ROM, it's just the battery life that worries me (I Think it might be just the ROM).
If you want international release, get the S4 Mini Duos (i9192).

Yeah, I was thinking exactly this, I was about to buy the Mini Duos but realised that I was basically getting the same phone as I have now (S3) with dual sim and paying the price of a new phone for it. As the S4 Mini has almost none of the features that the S4 is advertising.
The retailer told me to wait for the S4 Duos to be released internationally, but when I asked him if it was even planned, he had no idea.
I would be interested to know about the stability of the SVA rom, I read the whole thread (the one starts with "Wonted") and it seems people are having issues with caller ID and battery life. I'm also not very experienced with rooting and all that so I'm really torn about whether or not it's worth buying.
Hi there,
Soon to be first time android user(maybe?) wanting to purchase a Galaxy s6 edge plus.
But I have a couple of questions I was hoping people with experience can help me out.
1.- Since I live in the US but will be using the phone often overseas, I would like a fully unlocked phone that will work with any mobile carrier. But it is such trouble buying unlocked phones in the US I am really confused as to how should I proceed doing so? I could buy an Att phone at full retail and get it unlocked by them right? Will I be able to delete the ATT bloatware? Is there a better way to just buy an unlocked phone? I want the 64 gb gold version which seems to be very very hard to find ( ATT does have it though). Note: I am aware Verizon phones are unlocked but they do not carry the 64 gb gold variant and aren't their bands totally bad for international use?
2.- Coming from an iphone user, I've always jailbroken every iphone i've owned, it truly unlocks the full potential of a phone such as installing small modifications that make a great diff. My question is: will I be able to do the same with my galaxy s6 edge plus if I get my hands on an unlocked one? Is this called rooting? I've been reading threads from here and what I got is that rooting devices is very hard specifically for the galaxy brand? Is there a way around that?
That's all for now, just want to thank you going to the trouble of reading my post and would really appreciate your help if you happen to know any of the questions I have.
Thank you
Research is a little slow moving. I'm buying a new phone. This seems to be the most complete in terms of features (removable SD and IR blaster which is a small thing but missing from other flagships I've considered.)
My only concern is my carrier AT&T. If I buy the note will I be able to flash twrp? Is there a huge difference in custom ROM/kernel options from sprint or T-Mobile? Is there a certain model I should try to get?-I'm buying it unlocked.
I think most people understand the tedious process of choosing a new phone if you're into flashing Roms. Any info that's helpful is most welcomed. Thanks.
I actually use att service also and just bought a Tmobile Note 4 in January and I have never been happie with any phone I have ever owned.. N910T is best in my opinion if you are big on root because it has way more active developement and it has all the same lte bands that att uses
The tmob variant should work fine but the 910c definitely works and I think the 910f does as well. I'd steer clear of the actual at&t variant itself unless they have solved the root/bootloader issue. I guess the question is of you are buying sim free do you want the exynos or snapdragon variant

I live in Australia and I'm seriously considering buying this phone. The version sold here is the H990DS, I've seen around that the dual sim version is worse for rooting for some reason??? Also I know that the T-Mobile variant in the US has root, and it's not looking too well for the other US variants, so do you guys think the H990 has any hope for root in the future? I'd consider buying the T-Mobile version simply because it already has root and the development for it looks like it's really picking up, however it's not really compatible with the bands here in Australia. Don't international versions usually have an unlocked bootloader etc? I'm just trying to read up and understand as much as I can before I make a decision for buying this phone or not, I'm really into rooting and custom roms and stuff, been having fun with my Samsung S4 for years and I really don't want to give that up. The other phone that i was considering was the S7 Edge, which is more clearcut as to if it has root or not.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out, first time posting on xda
looking at v20 and am also in au
Did you have any luck with v20 ,as it seems to be best overall in specs usability otg band just seems to be issues of root for h990ds and I am a noob.
Hey All!
I'm currently using the s5 active, and I'm looking for an upgrade. I'm looking for a phone with a great camera, so obviously s7 edge has come up.
I'm planning on using this phone primarily in Vietnam, so I wanted to ask a few questions about which variant you all suggest.
1. Are all versions sim unlocked? I read online that verizon is, but I also read that some other ones I need to buy codes. Is it relatively easy to unlock the other variants (without paying money)? I'm not shy about flashing and odin things so if it's complicated that's fine too, as long as it's possible.
2. Hows the unified development? I love flashing roms and trying out new ones, if you were to buy a new s7 edge and didn't care about carrier, is there one that you would recommend over the others? I'm on the ATT s5 active now, and locked bootloader sucks. So I'm hoping to avoid that if I can.
If you can buy the exynos version, it's SIM unlock and easily rootable. All USA version are based on Qualcomm and with locked boot loader so no development for it.
G935 exynos is your choice, but I'd wait for S8

Thanks! haha, but since I'm not on any US plan, I figured I'd buy a used one instead. Although, if I wait till the s8 comes out, I'm sure there will be a nice price drop for a used s7.
Although now I gotta think if I want to look into HTC or LG for my development needs =D
Ah. One more question. People are generally saying touchwiz now isn't terrible. So if carriers have OTA updates, are they easily flashed in other countries? With my att sg5, it was pretty difficult to get updates abroad.
