[Q] Is Galaxy S4 Dual Sim I9502 getting an international release? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if this dual sim version of the phone will be getting an international release?
I know the S4 Mini dual sim is already out, but I'd rather get an S4 with actual S4 advertised functions.
I'm very tempted to buy this from China and root it, but I hear that it's pretty unstable. I'd much rather wait for an international release, but I also dont want to be waiting around for nothing...
If anyone has heard anything or any opinions on whether markets outside of China will ever see this phone, please share your news here.
Thanks!

I doubt it, I own i9502 dual sim, it's stable using SVA ROM, it's just the battery life that worries me (I Think it might be just the ROM).
If you want international release, get the S4 Mini Duos (i9192).

Yeah, I was thinking exactly this, I was about to buy the Mini Duos but realised that I was basically getting the same phone as I have now (S3) with dual sim and paying the price of a new phone for it. As the S4 Mini has almost none of the features that the S4 is advertising.
The retailer told me to wait for the S4 Duos to be released internationally, but when I asked him if it was even planned, he had no idea.
I would be interested to know about the stability of the SVA rom, I read the whole thread (the one starts with "Wonted") and it seems people are having issues with caller ID and battery life. I'm also not very experienced with rooting and all that so I'm really torn about whether or not it's worth buying.

[Q] some questions about Galaxy s4 i9500 (before I buy)

please help and answer about what you know.. thanks
1) i heard then exyos 5 chip does support LTE 4G in korea version, and the exact same chip is installed in i9500 international version so there may be a chance that LTE will be enabled using rooting features or something?
2) do you know a good store or something in Europe (if you have in Italy it would be much better) from where I can buy GALAXY S4 I9500 version with 650$-750$(max). (looking for 16GB version)
3) do you know where can I buy extended battery for S4 (at least 3,000 mah) and I hope it wont be needed special case or something.. im looking for a good battery but not too big.. I dont know if there are already good batteries, or its still early to ask
4) there is NO fm radio in S4?
5) what is the download speed for S4 (i9500) using 3G network? is it better than S3 although its still 3G and not 4G ?
Galaxy s4 development questions:
2) there will be AOKP based rom or good roms for s4 or its still too early to talk about it?
3) do you think there will be clean- android rom (without samsung stock design) PLUS full customization like s1-3 have ?
4) I wanna buy galaxy s4 soon but im afraid..there are great roms for S1 (like AOKP) .. i hope there will be stable+fast roms with a lot of features.. i wanna enjoy my phone and NOT like s1 (because good roms for s1 came 1 YEAR after i bought it.. hope it wont be the same with S4)
BOOST AND OVERCLOCKING:
5) i never realized that.. why would simple developers make "boost" to the SD CARD, RAM ect.. and not samsung?
my father says never overclock or something because Samsung does its best and if you boost something, it hurts something else.. is that true?
6) do you think there will be good and optimistic Overclocking+ boosting features for S4?
7) I heard a new linux kernel has been released .. will it be used in Android 4.3? do you think it will boost s4 performance?

I see that no one answered you. Personaly, I have searched for 3 weeks the same information, and I don't find anything useful. I will try to answer you as much as I can:
1/Since no one has acquired the Korea version(or a very little group), we don't have much information on this model. And there isn't any information about the LTE in I9500. It is more a hardware question than a software question, I don't think a little rooting will change this.
2/I live in France. I bought mine on Ebay, since the guy has good feedback and has a lot of I9500 in stock. I first ordered on valuebasket.fr, but this scammer siteweb just make me waiting and waiting, 7-10 days before shipping, and 7-10 days for the shipping. So I just cancled. I also tried on Negri Electronics, but they are out of stock too. IFinally I go to ebay and find the seller who sells 530 euros (700 dollars) + 36 euros (45 dollars) fedex shipping fee. It will arrive early next week.
3/Dude, an extented battery will make your phone bigger for sure, there is no doubt. You cannot get both...
4/No fm radio, but who cares...On the one hand, almost nobody listen to radio nowadays, on the other hand, we can litsten to radio on a lot of siteweb if we want.
I cannot answer your developpment question. Hope these can help you.
AOKP and CM roms for the I9500 will be slow to arrive due to the non-open source nature of the Exynos chipset. This is one area where the I9505 holds the advantage with it's Snapdragon architecture as shown by the fact there is already a CM10.1 release available.
You will get them eventually though.

[Q] i9500 vs i9505 vs The 'Google Edition' S4

I'm going to buy the S4 in a few weeks, and I can't decide which one to choose, especially after google released the one running vanilla android.
The international, i9500 exynos variant is the best one, I think, as its the international version and it might get more dev support.
on the other hand, the i9505 snapdragon variant is more reliable when it comes to dev support, as qualcomm does release the source code for its SD600 processor.
The google edition, as its going to support LTE, i think will be based on the i9505, as our dear Samsung very conveniently disable the LTE radios on its exynos processors.
So I am confused which one to buy.
If i get the i9505 (snapdragon), would i be able to flash an AOSP/AOKP rom perfectly, without any issues? Like will I be able to switch between AOSP and touchwiz without any hassle? and as the google edition will have the same chipset, would i be able to run rock solid and bug free aosp roms on it? (i honestly am more inclined towards touchwiz than aosp/aokp, but i dont mind switching for some time)
Also, I heard that i9500 has a better camera sensor, and has slightly better battery life than i9505. Is that true?
And qualcomm is going to release the snapdragon 800 within a couple of months, and i dont want to buy a phone for about $800 (nearly 50k in rupees here in India) only to realize that my latest gadget is now obsolete. I have already experienced that with my iPad 3 .
I'll be moving to USA in august for college, and honestly, i dont think LTE would be much use to me as 3G is more than enough for my needs. Plus LTE is a huge battery hog.
Also, as our dear Samsung does not release source code for exynos, more CM/AOKP/PA devs will move towards the i9505, and with that logic, the i9500 should get more support from devs working on TW based roms, like salesale and :indie: (I love neatrom on my S2).
So which one should I get?
P.S. Only the i9500 version is available in India, I'll have to get the i9505 from amazon if I end up buying that.
Just be careful what bands the phone supports. I think if you in the States it would be wise to get your carrier branded version

as both the i9500 and i9505 are unlocked and unbranded, I think I'll go for either of them, as they will be compatible with all bands worldwide, not only US and India. Also, I prefer not to be tied to a network with a contract. (I'm more of a free bird )
But the question that remians in, which one should I go for? The i9500, the i9505, or the stock google edition?
The google edition will be based on i9505, so on one hand i'll recieve updates as soon as they are released, but would i be able to switch between AOSP roms and TW-based roms?

I just received my i9500 a week ago and I am lovin it! The phone is one heckuva beast and I have yet to run into any problems with it. Also a heads up, I've heard TouchWiz runs smoother on the i9500 than the i9505 as it is optimized for it better. The camera is definitely one of this phone's highlights and I can say for myself that I see the differences in camera sensors/image quality between the two.
Sorry for the late reply, I was busy with my high school finals!
And thank you all for your opinions, but im still pretty much confused on which one to go for. the i9500 or thr i9505?
As I said before, the variant needs to be GSM, and only two networks in the US offer GSM: AT&T and T-Mobile.
I'll be moving to West-Lafayette, Indiana in a couple of months, therefore, I need to know which one of the two (AT&T and TMobile) would support the GS4 properly. I dont care about 4G LTE as HSDPA+ is fast enough for me, but I've heard that some frequencies don't work properly on those networks, resulting in poor reception and slow data transfer speeds.
So, it would be really helpful is someone could point me in the right direction, should I go for i9500 or i9505? I'm a bit more inclined towards i9500.
Thanks in advance!
Go for the one with Samsung's modified version of Android. Don't wait for the Google Edition. The advantage with this one is as soon the Google Edition drops, there will be AOSP ROMs for the Samsung edition S4 but the vice-versa won't be true.

That's all fine, but now I'm asking which one should I go for? the i9500 (Exynos) or the i9505 (snapdragon)? I'm not sure which one would work better in Lafayette Indiana on AT&T or T-Mobile (in terms of network coverage, 3G download/upload speeds etc)

[Q] Note 4 UK users

Hello
I'm considering getting the Note 4 but i am getting confussed as to what will be the best chip to use for UK use.
I'm currently on Vodafone and was looking at getting the exynos version, will this work on Vodafone? I can change to another provider if needed.
If i need to get the snapdragon version does changing to CM12 loose the s-pen function?
I'm not into rooting but want the phone to be quick, i have heard the exynos version is quicker running TW & the SD one is a bit laggy.

There's nowhere near enough benefit from having the Exynos version (if there is any benefit, at all) to make up for the extra hassle of importing one/finding a seller with reputable stock.

[Q] S5 buying advice

Hello
I am from India and I've been trying to purchase a Galaxy S5 from ebay. There is one available with a trusted seller with a good price but the model is S5 Duos and model number is G900FD. I know Indian versions are supposed to be G900I. So my question is this: Will the same custom ROMs for Galaxy S5 work with Galaxy S5 duos? or is there a slight change in the source files that makes it incompatible with s5 roms and leave me at the mercy of Touchwiz forever?

No they aren't compatible. You could flash the custom roms but you won't have network signal after. Though there are a number of custom roms for the dual aim variant if you want.

Hello, If you dislike touchwiz you can still install a alternative launcher. I did not try on the GS5 but I had a GS3 before and I succefully replace touchwiz by Apex launcher. Once the alternate launcher is started you can still kill samsung one.
Has anyone bought this, I wanted to know the performance and battery backup

I ended buying G900F the European version, even though I'm in India. The phone performance is fine, benchmarks as per reviews. And it came with Lollipop which added some features that they havent advertised before such as 4K video recording. Getting regular OTA once per 1-2 months on average. Can't say anything about the dual sim version because I didnt buy it...

Was hard to obtain actually. Got it from ebay finally but its a version without warranty becuase technically its smuggled. As for battery backup, it loses 10-20% over a day without using 3g/wifi, 40-60% over a day while using either of them. The screen is absolutely brilliant.
I am also thinking of getting it from eBay which seller did u buy it from and how's the screen on time you get with it
I am returning my G900H to flipkart and would get refund, I am thinking to either get this or Xiaomi MI4

Which Samsung S5 Model is the best to buy?

Recently i wanted to buy a S5 second hand or refurbished. But wasn't sure which model was the best to buy.
Also which model of the S5 has the most XDA Developer Support right now?
That's hard to answer. I'll make a note so short summary of all the S5 for you, so you can choose one instead
Start with the ordinary Galaxy S5 model (G900F). The most popular variant, with tons of development support, has the standard SD801 and 2GB RAM. Do note that, since the G900F itself has many carrier variant, you might want to avoid the Verizon/AT&T model (G900V/A), due to locked bootloader. Any other variant falls under the klte category will be fine. Also get the FD model if you want dual SIM support. Fun fact: Sprint has an all blue variant (not just blue cover with black front)
Next is the Exynos model (G900H). Only released in Asian countries, this variant had a lot of potential, if it wasn't for the lack of LTE (which makes it the #1 contender for the worst S5 ever) Development is surprisingly good for an Exynos phone, probably only behind the international S3. Also has a dual SIM variant.
Also available is the S5 Broadband LTE-A aka G906S/K/L (whoever named it like this must be drunk) which is the S5 everyone dreamt for. Quad HD screen, Snapdragon 805, 3GB RAM LTE-A support, blah blah blah. Even the Sony IMX240 sensor, the same one on the Note 5 is here too (don't expect picture quality to be the same though due to different aperture and software and whatnot) Only released in Korea through Koreans' Big Three Carrier thought (no, not your Korea, GTFO Kim Jong-Un). Which is the reason why development sucks big time (since it is some of the rarest S5 available), only behind the S5 Sport/Active model. Without @cvxda and @bjnmonkey77, this device would've been on the same club as the LG V10. Rest in peace.
*Also, Samsung did release another LTE-A (called LTE+) capable variant of the S5 in Singapore and Europe. This one only has the SD805 though, everything else is the same as the klte variant. Development is a bit better, but not much.*
Can't forget the Neo model though. Basically the refreshed S5 without the water flap (yay!), better selfie camera, a new front camera and the brand new (for the era) Exynos 7580. Although lacking the removable battery and the development support of the klte S5 (boo!), the newer TouchWiz UI and a planned Nougat update more than makes up for it. Even if Samsung says "**** you" the device, porting Nougat from the A5 2016 should be easy, since both has the same Exynos SoC.
Last is the S5 Active/Sport model. The Active is exclusive to AT&T, while the Sport is Sprint's answer to AT&T's Active (the irony). Both are some of the hardest-hitting S5 available, while are also even rarer than the LTE-A variant. Development is pretty much non-existent, not even sure whether root is available or notz can't check sorry
I guess that's it lol. What a long answer (silly me). Sorry if you find it confusing, since my S5 only have like 3% left, and it was 11PM here. And enjoy I guess. XD.
Also XDA, swap your font plox. Looks like it's from 2010 ;;

Weird question. What's the best S5 ever?
The following parameters are needed for the answer:
- in which network you're going to use it,
- if you really need LTE,
- if you really need root,
- how much money you're going to spend.
Generally, "F" variant is the best for UK because it supports B3, B7, B20 LTE bands, but it's the most expensive. I'd say, 3-5 times more expensive than "V", for example.

G900F variant supposes unlocked bootloader.
Vodafone version may mean a branded firmware (can be replaced with unbranded for the same variant) and network lock, probably.
Root should definitely be possible.

I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S (yes no trailing number)!!!!
I am looking to replace it with either a Galaxy S5 Mini or a Galaxy S5 Neo, I'm not really sure which one to go for and I hope someone here can give me some advice as to which one is the best phone, from a reliability / performance / ease of use / battery life perspective.
Thanks in advance!!!
