Buying the Note 4 in 2017 - few questions - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
after a long search for battery switchable Smartphones, i bought the Note 4. I got a few questions:
1) is the eMMC Bug still present on "new" phones? I bought the Snapdragon Version (i need Modding/customROM Support) Can i check my phone about this?
2) is there still active development for this smartphone?
3) can you guys recommend a Wireless charger, batteries and an external charger?
Thankyou in advance!

Emmc bug is hardware failure, so not obvious to detect b4

[Q] Galaxy i5500 (galaxy 5, galaxy europa)

Hi, I hope I am posting into the correct forum, given how large this place is
I am looking at using galaxy 5 (which is dirt cheap around here) for a hardware project not involving phone capabilities.
The problem arises in the confusion, that some articles on the internet state that it has gyroscopes, and some dont mention it at all.
wikipedia . org /wiki/Samsung_i5500 (cant post links atm)
wikipedia mentions gyro in the specs.
If anyone has the phone, could you confirm whether it has gyroscope or not?
I am also unsure how to find out what gsp chip does the phone have, and in particular, if it has the 65kft height limitation (gps chips tend to shut down above the height)
Samsung website was of no help sadly.
Thanks in advance!

It may be due to the fact i installed the gigabyte

Welcome to XDA. This forum is for folks that use custom ROMs (hence "XDA-developers") which have had USB charging for almost a year now. Also, titling your post with the name of the tablet is not terribly useful. Even funnier when it's not spelled correctly.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 stock Rom update/improvements?
Can anyone confirm this was a stock Rom update in the latest version to allow usb charging?
I just noticed this change about the USB charging since updating my new galaxy tab 10.1 Rom with the stock firmware update.
I did try and change it but due to a new member I had to wait. sorry about my mistake. I had to start my XDA account again due to email issues.

MK809 III B vs.MK809 III vs MK809 II info

Hi guys,
Nice to meet you and this community that i recently joined(the Android Stick computer community not XDA which i knew for some time now). A couple of weeks ago I bought a cool new gadget, MK809 III B, and very recently I decided i want to remotely control it over internet.
I knew that my first stop would be the XDA forums and after a short investigation of the threads opened here I've noticed that people are talking about 2 similar version of my gadget(the MK809 III and MK809 II).
Being all Chinese productes and we all know that the extra "B" revision can mean a drastic change in hardware, does anyone here have the MK809 III B version? And has anyone tested if the MK809 III root approach and other tools are working on this B revision as well?
P.S. Can anyone here provide a simple guide on what root tools should I look for and some hints on the rooting approach?
P.P.S: I've tried connecting the dongle to a laptop through the power port(looking over at tablets and phones , it seems the most likely port out of the existing three to work) but unfortunately nothing happened(i was expecting nothing to happen but i was hoping for windows to at least detect it as "unknown hardware" in the device manager(I'm not sure if it's relevant that the laption had winXP on it).

i9515 charging port differences

Hi,
I want to replace my charging port. I read about 2 different Versions: rev.19 and rev.25.
I looked at my charging port and there was no lettering. Which one should I use for my S4 Value Edition or has it a special Version?
Best regards
Has nobody an idea? Swiching the battery every day isn't funny
Happy new year
Simon
Hi....I wrote a guide on this exact subject....but for the S2. In the case of the S2, there were/are 4 different variants or 'rev' versions of this board for the international version of the phone on its own (and numerous other boards for the other variants). My instinct tells me the S4 has a similar setup, and that being the case, then the 'rev version' of the board you buy needs to match the 'rev version' of the board you remove from your phone.
If the board you remove is the original factory fitted board, it *will* have the version printed on it somewhere. It could be on either side of the board or it could be on the cable that attaches the board to the rest of the phone......but it *will* be there.
You need to re-examine the faulty board thoroughly to look for the Rev version number....I've a nasty feeling it will be critical for successful repair of the phone.

Note 7 accessaries are usable in FE, blocked by SOFTWARE

I'm new to XDA, just trying to post a fact I've heard from my father, who was in charge of development of S2, Note tablet series and Note 4, 5, 7, FE and 8, etc.
As he gave me Fan Edtion to me, telling me this is so meaningful to his team. When I asked aboth LED cover, he said "Although this Fan Edition's internel parts are mostly newly build, instead of using 7 parts, It still can use Note 7 LED flipcover and battery pack - but intentionally blocked the usage of note 7 accessaries softwarely. Therefore it's function is intact, just disabled."
He later also gave me note7 LED cover and battery cover as somebody would already managed to restored it. But I'm suprised most of XDA users didn't even try so, thinking it's hardware problem.
So we can say note 7 battery pack is in fact working, but soon blocked by system when it finishes acknoledging where the wave is comming from - which means it can be unlocked, alongside with all note 7 accesaries.
Therefore I'm asking you guys, to find the blockcade and restore it's functions. If it's not hardware issue - why not? If you can edit kernel or porting(like arter97 or topjohnwu), even completely re-building custom android from AOPS, I'm sure someday, someone will make it working. Just like magisk eventually showed up and saved us from root detections.
P.S. I know you'll never find this post, but, thanks for all that hard works, dad. Congraturation for graduating from 25-year-long development post. You really did something to your Samsung electronics. I wish you could stop overworking just for few days and have time with us..
