Anyone know how to speed it up? seems to take a very long time to load a webpage over bluetooth activesync... any tips?
The page takes 10-20seconds usually where as on my PC (that active sync is running from) it only takes a couple of seconds...
well it will be significantly slower than your PC for sure.. mainly because it's only leeching some stuff from your PC.. if you don't load the pictures, the pages will be faster to load...
Thanks for that, i turned of the images, makes it load a little quicker, but hte slow part is the connecting to the site initally, takes around 10-15seconds before it starts loading, without images it loads quick (after the initial 10-15second wait) with images doesn't take much longer... its that inital connection that seems to take a while... most pages load in a few seconds if not less on my PC on 1.5mbit ADSL with no background traffic.
maybe you can change your bluetooth baud rate to 115200 or higher for optimum speed.. i just couldnt remember where you can exactly change it but there is a way..
you can change it under the com port settings for the com port your using, dont know if it makes much difference...
Should MSN work over active sync?
of course MSN works in activesync passthru.. i use agile messenger for that coz i have both Yahoo and MSN messenger working.. while browsing the net in my XDA at the same time.. ive had no problems so far except the slow connection speed too..
agile is better imho and it support icq and such aswell
Would setting up a PAN or something speed it up?
What kind of range do you guys get?
well bluetooth is max 700Kb/sec
thats not really fast and of cause the ms stack dont support
pan so you need the vidcomm stack and even with that
then usb which most bluetooth in normal computers use
there is bound to be latencys and high cpu usage
Can the speed be increased? At the moment it shows that my USB connection is "Serial on USB" and the speed is 19.2kb/s
That's even slower than a dial up modem. The thing that disturbs me is that the interface is serial based and not true USB based.
No wonder everything is slow from activesync to downloading web pages
I think once upon a time there was a hack to edit the RAS registry entries to increase speed. Not sure if it works anymore...
V
my GPRS on my XDA STELLAR...
Even though this has now been flashed it is an ongoing issue regardless of the rom so is probably an issue with the service..
basically whilst maintaining a constant GPRS connection my internet pages will randomly stop loading popping up whatever error each browser uses to say you internet is not working..the connection becomes useless even whilst still stating there is a connection and full signal on the phone
this is becoming a problem which a simple reconnect will not fix and i need to either Turn off the phone and go into flight mode and back which sometimes work.. if not i need to power off the phone.
This is a real inconveince and i would love if anyone had any tips to resolve or.. improve this issue?
I seem to be having trouble with my wifi network, i can connect, and browse via wifi, but when i try to download or update an app i get a message stating that my connection speed is too slow. when i run a speed test i get 15ms ping, 10 Mb download and 1 Mb upload, i can game and download to the computer (xbox doesn't download either, but thats a different forum)... i can switch off the wifi and use my edge data and download no problem.
any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
ps: have reset the router, and power cycled the phone, even disconnected everything but the phone
Hey Guys,
I'm having a little problem with this FTP Server app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=lutey.FTPServer
Everything runs smoothly but when it comes to an upload From my PC to the Phone. (Phone downloading) The transfer speed is very volatile and overall very slow. (70kb/s to 230kb/s)
When I download stuff from my Phone. (so Phone uploading) it is approximately 5 times as fast. (1000kb/s) I have fiddled around with leaving the screen on but it didnt change the transfer speeds.
Interestingly this only happens when the Phone downloads. I'm using a Galaxy S4 by the way.
