otas doesn't work with custom recovery installed, yes or yes you need sotck recovery, maybe you try with firmware finder.

Here is the stock recovery. Flash this, then U will be able to update. After that U can re-flash TWRP

sorry, I was inactive for a while. Yes, it worked, I flashed with success and updated but when I tried to reflash twrp the terminal say "flash failed" "permission denied" or something. I tried to relock and unlock bootloader but nothing...

Hi everyone, recently I downloaded the latest update from huawei system updater and then I wanted to flash it with flashfire but when it restarts it says "check_write_data_to_partition,write data error" and "update_huawei_pkg_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed" then it reboot normaly without system changes, what can I do?
edit:
in the head of the log it says olso:
"mountencrypt: failed to mount /data: success"
It's pretty ambiguous...

I used my pc with "fastboot".

L04 b141 update how can I apply?

how can I apply the updater after flashing custom recovery (twrp)?
Basically you can't, applying OTA requires stock recovery.
And just one thing, 1.64GB for an update? I mean there isn't much in the changelog

OK, here is an update. I am rooted with TWRP and have been waiting for the full update package to become available. As of just yesterday the full update package is in the updater app on the phone. You must be connected to wifi for it to appear. Open updater, click on menu on the bottom, download latest FULL package B141. After DL it WILL FLASH THROUGH TWRP but you will lose root and TWRP. Let it do its thing then reflash TWRP through ADB and SU after that and you are good to go on the new update.

Hey,
You need the stock recovery.
I can upload the img file tomorrow, when I'm at home.
Or you download and unpack it on your own like explained here.
Hey,
I uploaded stock recovery here.
Just flash in fastboot mode and try ota again.
Should work now. But it could relock bootloader if it does the full ota and not just the update..

U saved my day!!!!!!
relock is no problem... because I m not really sure if I need it open..can´t decide if root or not at the moment because
it´s not perfectly clear to me what r the benefits...except being able to install adaway.apk to get rid of the annoying advertisings

Nothing to loose, if it doesn't, just reflash twrp again.

can not update

I have a P9 lite VNS-L31C432B412 dual sim. It is rooted with TWRP. Super su installed.
When I click on 'update', my huawei p9 lite offers me to upgrade to version B414. I currently have version B412.
I accept the 'quick update' he offers me.
The mobile reboot on TWRP and there a red line with: error 7.
I would like to know where are the TWRP error logs stored?
And I would also like to know what to do?
Thank you

Couldn't update Installation problem with august update

So this week i hadn't time enough to install the august update since my phone is rooted so i decided to do it now. What i did before trying to download the update :
1.Deleted all magisk modules that i had then rebooted
2.Unistalled magisk using restore image then rebooted
3.Went to sys update downloaded and it says installation failed
What do to? I'm not rooted now and i don't have twrp installed.
PS. don't want to install it via fastboot/miflash
Follow this guide in future. https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tips.md#ota-installation-tips
To fix your problem now, find a stock boot image for your update version you are currently on and flash it.

If you don't want to use Miflash (Why ?) you can boot temporary TWRP and flash .zip here:

That's because you have twrp installed, otas on every device won't install if you have a custom recovery. The only way I know to remove twrp is to reflash the rom with mi flash tool, or flash a twrp flashable stock rom without flashing the twrp installer.

I thought volume down + power enters fastboot mode. Volume up + power enters recovery. Anyways, if you dont have TWRP installed, then you have to reset your phone.

Well, as long as you didn't flash twrp installer zip, and the ota still fails, then your only solution is to reset your phone.

You probably made a mistake and made changes to the system partition. A common mistake is to start twrp and mount the partition as read/write. Even if you did not make any changes, the partition info will be changed and any OTA will fail from that point on.
