Oreo root - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been a while since I've owned a Nexus device, been lingering around Samsungs (shame on me)
Question is, not long bought my 6p, it's already been updated to OPR5.170623.007 is there a root available for this version or will I have to downgrade to 7.1.1 for root
Did have a little search but nothing specific was shown

try the latest beta of superSU (2.82-SR5), for me it works good

Both work, magisk 14, magisk 14.3 beta and latest SuperSU beta.

September 2016 security patches out

Nexus 9 flounder just updated to NRD90R.
Can anyone explain how to (or if it's even possible) install this update from the OTA that's just downloaded to my tablet. I am running the first 7.0 release, rooted and have elementalx installed. Thanks in advance.
Still nothing for volantisg.

Magisk - does it really have a FULL ROM? Viper?

Hi to all,
ORIGINAL BUILD
Nexus 10 Manta 5.1.x
CURRENT
Resurrection Remix 7.1.2, and LATEST busy box pro, SuperSU Pro,
Other than that I have not added or changed anything else.
IT SEEMS that ROMs take up a lot of System space, then I cannot add a larger gapps package.
WHAT I WANT TO TRY
Does Magisk have its own ROM package?
I have read about VIPER ROM - but it seems to be for the HTC?
1). I would like a SMALLER ROM package where I can use Xposed Framework and modules. Which ROMs would that be, and does it take me back to Marshmallow?
1a). Is this where Magisk works well - allowing me to install xposed?
1b). With my current ROM, I cannot install more software. (Yes, I have removed apps that I do like to install others) - Is this ROM considered a LARGE system space hog?
2). Is there a HUGE difference between nougut and marshmallow? If not, I do not mind going back to Marshmallow to get xPosed Framework.
3). I do not want all of the Bloated google apps, but would like to pick and choose which ones to install - which I think would be AROMA Gapps?
4) which ROMS are best and SMALLER (is there such a ROM), for marshmallow?
5). Is there anything SPECIAL I need to do if I go from Nougut BACK to Marshmallow?
Any other suggestions are very welcome. I have been searching, studying, and looking for specific information to answer my questions........maybe some of the answers exist, but I might need them in simpler answers. Smiles
Thanks to all!
How funny. It is Jan 2, 2018 and I am still researching Systemless Roots and Xposed subjects......looking for the best way to get XPOSED back on my Nexus 10..... (Love Xposed)
........I just noticed this question and decided to read it.......lo, and behold.......it is one of my earlier questions I wrote back in July 2017.

Dude just delete system apps, it frees space fro Xposed and ****, and magisk shouldn't take up any /system space anyway.
I have R. Remix ROM (nougat) 7.1.1 on my nexus 10.......I want to find out if I can use Xposed.....
Or if I just go back to Marshmallow?
AND
Did I understand that Xposed is now a Systemless way to root? On ALL devices?

Downgrade 7.1.2 to lower version

Is it possible to downgrade Nokia 5 TA-1053 to a lower version so we can fix the ram issue?I don't really like Oreo Beta so that is not an option.
So do I, I can't bear that when I open wechat, then i can't open another app.
I think it will better after i root it and install Xposed, but I update Android O, damn it.
If you only looked through the forum..

February updates are live

Updates are live, installing on Pixel XL, but zero information about the fixes or improvements on Google Bulletin. It says no Pixel security fixes this time included, no information about new features or other fixes too. So only general Android security fixes this time I guess.
Announcements
There are no Pixel security patches in the February 2019 Pixel Update Bulletin.
Functional patches
All Pixel devices running Android 9 will receive an Android 9 update as part of the February OTA. This quarterly release contains many functional updates and improvements to various parts of the Android platform and supported Pixel devices.
Does anyone already received the OTA ?

I manually installed on Monday afternoon. All went well. Flashed factory images (retained data). Booted TWRP to flash Magisk. Only nuance was that new version of Magisk was released at about the same time, so had to play around with that for a bit. Standard monthly upgrade. No surprises. All seems to be running well.
I'm on magisk but I haven't receive the OTA even when pushing the button. With magisk shouldn't I still get the notification (manual or not) ?? I know that installing it with magisk is a whole different thing... I always install full otas manually via twrp, but I would like to install a ota with the magisk method... too much time consuming when doing via twrp

android 11 beta '1.5'

Can anyone confirm if they've updated their pixel 4 to the new update that came out yesterday? And if you guys have and have root enabled before that. We're you able to retain root with the magisk method?
Hi,the magisk method is working. Adaway, Titanium Backup are working. Only theming with Swift installer is not usable.....
Greetings
the boot.img in the beta 1.5 is the same of the beta1? because I get the 1.5 update (rpb1.200504.020) but I only found the rpp4.200409.015 for download
***Edit:
Forget it, I found it in 9to5google
