Port Moto Voice from Moto Z Play? - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

Would it be possible to Port a Moto Z Play stock rom to the Moto G5 Plus to obtain Moto Voice on the G5 plus? They both have the 625 SoC...

Moto Voice_11.0.4.0.035 can to install and partially functioned on G5+. I think port is possible.

When I click on it, it just returns to the main moto app list. On the Moto g3 it took me to the place where I could set up my wake up command but that didn't do anything.

I have this moto voice problem in g5+
When try open moto voice in moto action its not responding it just go back to the moto action

I am facing same issue.

I am facing same issue. When I click to setup voice it shows its features and then it returns to App main page.

What features will the MXPE loose when switching to Marshmallow?

I just read that Motorola is planning to remove Assist & Migrate for the Marshmallow release. II really like the voice control on this phone. It's way more accurate than others I've tried. I could be wrong but it seemed to me in all the promos for the device the voice features were heavily featured as a selling point. So it seems a shame to me that we will lose these features when updating to Marshmallow. Are all the voice control features contained in assist? Oh BTW the article that mentioned this is on Android central invade anyone is wondering.
I am not 100% sure, but I believe the features they're removing are because Marshmallow has them baked in natively.

All the moto features will remain. They are simply removing the extra apps leaving all those integrated into the moto app itself and will not affect moto voice out moto display regardless.
Your worrying about nothing.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I really enjoy the voice features & was afraid they'd remove them & I'd be stuck with the "ok Google" which always scrambled my words until it was useless for me.
I hear rooting M will be quite difficult but they said that for every new version. Time will tell.

Thanks bro for replying
They say that it is working now. I have the build 161117. The default camera does photos but not video. I get when filming that the microphone might be busy. So it works for some but not me.

Is it possible for you to update the OP? Because it still says that video recording isn't working properly, but now it is.
Furthermore, @Shreps asked you to point to the directory of his recovery(s): https://moto.shreps.fr/?dir=Moto G4 (athene)/recovery instead of to a single file. Or even better, to his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=69472874
I think he's right...
Thanks in advance!

Videorecording is working absolutely flawless now (at least for me...) Here's just a quick shot of my dog, taken with the snap camera. https://vimeo.com/192141404

If you want to use cm-14.1, you have to use Snap or Motorola camera. If you want to use google or Moto camera, stay on stock.
Your call.

Nice dog.
I downloaded some apps and they all fail but one.
Open camera with the sound disabled. So there is something going on with that. I can't figure out what could be using the microphone that blocks the default camera (and presumably all the others).
I really shouldn't steal the post with questions about how to check what could be using the microphone. Therefore slowmo with Motorola camera also works but not in hd mode.

Don't know what could be wrong on your side. I'd try a clean install once again. Wipe everything, including internal memory...
Otherwise, no clue... Send a logcat to @Silesh.Nair, so that he can use his magic wand!

Hmm, well, I did a clean install of 1117 version and after that a dirty flash of the 1119 version. On both videorecording is fine on Snap Camera and Motorola Camera. Please send a logcat concerning this issue to @Silesh.Nair

I'v done the 19 clean again. Still same.
Used CatLog from the playstore. I see some camera errors but I honestly can't tell what is serious errors and what is warnings. I started the apps several times and trying to film to provoke the error so it would be in the log.
It's in the file

Oh that, I'm still writing about video recording. It's telling me that the microphone is busy. May bee that I only did the modem. There might be something more in the soak (I only did the modem) but I can do with silent film for a while. Haven't figured out a good way to restore stuff. I only record my running from biweekly anyway.
Thanks for your concren. To reply your link. I saw that funky Motorola camera stuff after trying out not having a top border, full screen settings. I just whent back to default and got it running non-funky again.

I will only mention the drawbacks of this phone:
1. The phone heats up pretty easily if you game otherwise for normal usage its alright.
2. The camera lens is easily scratched so buy a bulky cover. I also have a cover but somehow it still got scratched.
3. No compass.
4. Rom development is not so good as moto g3, but increasing gradually.
5. Stock official N is not rootable yet, so if you want root stay on MM.
Any workaround for compass??
No compass sensors but map is working fine without any problem
After nougat update the heating problem also removed if your budget is under 15000 go and buy it under 15000 it is an excellent phone by motorola.

And what about rooting it?? Is rooting simple ot difficult for this phone?

Problem with gyroscope

Hi guys
I have a Moto G4, and my previous phone was a Moto G3.
The reason of this post is that I use an app called "Star Walk 2" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....StarWalk2Free) and it uses the gyroscope, but when I open the app it does not move when I point to a star.
It's a weird issue, because I had no problems with the moto g3, and I guess that the g4 is a superior phone compared to his predecessor.
I installed other apps, like skyview, star chart and no one is working.
(sorry, my english is not so good)
Thanks in advanced.

Take it to a service center your gyroscope is most likely a defective one

I was thinking about that, the problem is that there's no tech support for motorola in my city, but I'll go to the store (Falabella), and could you please install that app and tell me if gyroscope works on your mobile.

I think that the problem is not related to the gyroscope but with the compass, that our G4s lack. I think that this and NFC support are the main flaws of G4.

The moto g3 lacks of compass and gyroscope and the app works :/ I tried with stock and custom roms.
I don't know what is the problem, maybe is a driver problem?
