October update - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hello guys!
I did some research over the threads here and Google it but I couldn't found the kdz for the october update. People are saying that it makes the front camera better and the sound (loudspeaker and earphones) too. I'm on 10T but with July security patch. My G6 its a H870 from Brazil. Anyone have the link or can upload the kdz for me, please?
Thanks a lot

The update you mention was for another region, if .kdz for H870 was available, it'd definitely be announced here
However over here you can find the newest .kdz files for H870, there are some "11b" .kdz's for Mid and South America so you can try yourself if these are the ones you were looking for.

On lg firmwares there is a brazil FW built 18.09.17. Look at the list linked in the massage under yours. Then sort it after date.
Here is the download Link

I've used a dll from V20 to flash from LGUP. I can't remember exactly where I got the dll, but it worked. Didn't used uppercut

So I've been using this rom for a few days now and I had a battery improvement. With AOD on, sync on, gps off, watching Youtube for about 1 hour, 4G on almost all the time (80%) and making a bunch of calls, I got this at the end of the day. Kinda impressive

Hello,
Which FW do you use? The one i have linked for you? Means the one from 18.09.17 for brazil? Can u post a screenshot with the FW Infos. Thanks a lot

Update my device, now waiting the next 2 full charges to see the difference.
One little problem: My device no show 4G+ more, only 4G signal. Any software to show the modem frequency in use?

This is a South America Firmware, not all countries has 4G+ (here in Brazil only a few states). I don't know if the firmware affects the modem, but if it affects, it may be not a good deal for you. And I don't know any software that shows the modem frequency. I think you have 4G+, it just doesn't show.

My wife have S7 Edge in the same carrier plan and in the same place, got 4G+ signal. Before the update, my G6 got this signal normally. Testing the speed, my smart got great numbers.

[G920I] [ZEROFLTEDV] Galaxy S6 Discussion, Custom ROMS and more

I am starting this thread for the G920I model of the S6. Codenamed "Zerofltedv".
Where is G920I Available?
- Singapore
- India
- Australia
- USA
- Latin American countries
- North America
The S6 comes with regional locks for particular countries, And need to be activated with a sim specific for that region.
What is this thread about?
- For discussion.
- Online and local availability.
- Isssue discussion.
- Custom ROM development specific for this variant.
- Pricing
- Accessories
Curious to see which country with the G920I model gets updates first so I can flash that region's firmware in Odin. Australia will obviously be last as usual so I'm keen to get off this firmware ASAP and get onto one that doesn't block auto-rotate in the Gallery app

Interesting, are you on Indian firmware?
And regarding the auto rotate, it's been an issue on Samsung phones in Australia for years due to some lawsuit with Apple.

Can you advise your software details as the Australian variant hasn't had an update and I'd be interested to see the difference in software.

No details on the changes, but it looks like Indian firmware has a build date of 31 March while everyone else is still the 7th of March.

Yes, I am on the Indian firmware, which came right out of the box, got a small update yesterday thou. If our models are G920I then we should be able to flash any firmware for the same. My question is what is up with the regional locks? will that be a problem?
IS anyone here having the flash always on problem? mine is very dimly lit if you see it in the dark. very very dim, I have to try hard to observe it. Is it a major issue? are your devices doing the same?
am on a singapore version and i dont have the flash always on problem. battery life sucks though, coming from a OPO.

Yeah, totally snappier and quick--very excited because to be honest, I was a little disappointed by the phone's performance. T-Mobile, MN, USA.
On Verizon wireless in us no update yet thanks for the heads up however
Same for me. Much snappier feeling. It took quite a while to load some apps initially with 5.0. 5.1 is absolutely better. I'm an android Dev and have access to a lot of more expensive phones and am using this for its amazingly great battery (way better than my 2013 moto x . over double for my use ) and to hold me over until 2015 moto x. Not a bad phone all

Sent G2 instead of Nexus 5, should I keep it?

Hi, I live in England and ordered a Nexus 5 from Amazon Warehouse (used-very good), but they sent me an LG D802.
It seems the G2 is like a slightly better and more expensive version of the Nexus 5 from what I can make out - so it would make sense to keep it but the reason I like the Nexus devices is vanilla Android and instant updates. I assume the Nexus 5 will be getting M, for example, and doubt the G2 will. It hasn't updated to Lollipop yet (or mine hasn't anyway).
I stuck my old 3G Giffgaff sim in and it wasn't recognised, so I tried a Tesco Mobile 4G sim and that is working so I am assuming I have the "International unlocked D802"?
Do you think I should keep it given my liking for Nexus devices (after all I was trying to buy one, lol), will it update to Lollipop?
It's a nice phone and I probably got a bargain given how much more it costs than the Nexus 5, I believe the battery life is much better and it has a better camera but apart from that is there any advantage over the Nexus 5?

Does anyone in the UK have this phone (D802 16GB) and has it updated itself to Lollipop yet? Or do I need to unlock it and install a custom rom?

I will do if I don't send it back. Still haven't decided.
I would go with the Nexus simply for the active development, that alone extends its life. That's why even the Galaxy Nexus and Tegra based N7 still see development today. For me it's more important to have a device that would see a steady flow of updates far past its EOL.

Finally got OTA .. XT1092 , Indian Model
I got my update to Marshmallow yesterday. Pretty impressed at the speed of this one as Lollipop took forever to arrive!!
The actual update process went very smoothly.
It's made the overall feel of the whole OS a lot nicer and smoother. Definitely feels more polished to me. Also love the unbelievable control of app permissions in this one! They've really ramped up on security here.
Another small but amazingly useful change: the addition of battery percentage!!!! Took them long enough but finally it's here in some form or another!
Everything seems to work quite well without having to reset the phone like I used to have to do when upgrading from other versions of Android.
Not tested battery life just yet but hoping it'll have improved thanks to Doze.
So far I'm very impressed with this one and am actually considering sticking to Android a bit longer as my plan was change my phone for an iPhone 7 when released as was getting really sick of the silly little Android bugs.

try using chromium or cm browser no lag at all on those I'm running a Brazilian 1097 twrp backup from last month on my 1095. No lag in the system but terrible with chrome. using those browsers solved my issue.
Chromium is it the same as Chrome Dev?
not only chrome many apps shows lag like instagram whatsapp facebook side scrolling phonograph(too much) .
try chrome dev or chrome beta, the animation stutter on the 3 dot menu bar on top right is not there on the beta and dev version.
also if you turn on moto voice from settings>accesibility, chrome will go berserk and start lagging more and switching it off makes it normal again.i dont know why this is happening, anyhow i already reported this on moto forums

Official USA firmware appears for Z5 E6603

Just want to let you guys know that today, Sony has uploaded the official firmware for the USA version for the E6603 device. It's version 32.0.A.6.209 with a region tag of R4B. It's listed as Customized US (unbranded). This is the first time the firmware is released for a non dual Z5 device. The CDA is 1300-4290.
I'm guessing this firmware is still lollipop and not marshmallow, right?
Quick question, if I switch firmwares, would I lose my DRM keys? I have locked bootloader still and don't want to lose them. I do want to switch firmwares to US or Canada so I have a local baseband. The signal is not the best and I'm pretty sure switching firmwares will definitely help with that.
You only lose DRM keys when you unlock bootloader.

Offcourse there's noise when zooming, that's the way digital zoom works.
If you take two pictures in a tripod stand, one zoomed and one not zoomed you can cut the not zoomed image to the same size and have two exact same images. Digital zoom is worthless, it is the exact same thing as zooming in on a pic in the gallery.

I've tried this (.209) firmware, it does remove the fingerprint option.

lolol, does that mean the US devices only have it disabled in software? Seems likely, I didn't think they'd start a new production line just to remove the fingerprint reader.
Did you notice any change in signal though?

lolol, does that mean the US devices only have it disabled in software? Seems likely, I didn't think they'd start a new production line just to remove the fingerprint reader.

See, the signal was why I was looking forward to this being released but I won't trade fingerprint for better signal :/
Honestly the signal was just the same.
Although my comments could not be very accurate, since the signal around home and work is very strong.

You need someone who got the phone to try flashing the phone with other firmware, that way you know forsure if they removed the hardware.
I think when on 8th of February someane buys officiall US variant, and if Fingerprint doesnt work, someone will just try to flash other versions, for example CE1 or other, to see if it'll work. Might be.
