I am running NBD91K build, but every time I flash supersu, it sends my phone into a bootloop. I am running the latest TWRP and tried SuperSu 2.78 SR5. Anyone having the same problem?

Are you using suhide by any chance?
I've been stuck at bootloop when i tried to force system (not systemless) root on nougat. So my first thought was to delete /data/.supersu... then I've managed to reinstall root systemlessly, but after a few tries it stayed on the bootloop.... I had to reflash system.img and then I flashed the supersu once again and it works like magic.
Yes, I am using suhide

Suhide does not work with 7.0+ roms with the November security patch. You need to flash the suhide Uninstaller and just use supersu
You're right, unintalling suhide and I can boot my phone after rooting, thanks. Too bad suhide doesn't work with the november patch, otherwise I can't get android pay working.

Ensure that you have uninstalled SuperSU prior to flashing Magisk v9 and phh Superuser.
After, install Magisk Manager apk posted on its thread and phh Superuser manager & SafetyNet Helper from playstore.
You can then hide Magisk from SafetyNet within Magisk Manager setting. Run SafetyNet Helper to test whether you pass the SafetyNet check or not. If everything is passed, then you should be able to use Android Pay & Pokemon Go .

that worked! thank you so much for your help!
So as we all know magisk does not root nonrooted or supersu rooted devices (atleast not my devices) so here is simple method to gain MagiskSU Root access and possibly hide your root.
Note: i will use phh's superuser which was used in magisk before.
COMPATIBILITY:
ANDROID 7.x -- Not confirmed
ANDROID 6.0.1 -- Confirmedly working!
1) DOWNLOAD PHH'S SUPERUSER https://superuser.phh.me/
2) BOOT INTO RECOVERY AND FLASH DOWNLOADED ROOT ZIP AND MAGISK IF NOT FLASHED ALREADY
3) REBOOT AND ENJOY

MagiskSU works just fine without flashing anything else for me

Ok so this is not the correct procedure for getting Magisk to work, this is exactly how it's done in my case at least.
1. Flash a rom of your choice ( in my case it was viper rom on the HTC 10, rooted with SuperSU, I have an international unlocked device with S-Off)
2. Extract the boot.img from your ROM ( in my case it was in the root of the rom's zip file)
3. Copy the boot.img to your Fastboot folder on your computer.
4. Install Magisk Manager and download Magisk 12.0 zip to your phone.
5. Reboot to download mode and then: fastboot flash boot boot.img allow it to flash, press power to come out.
6. Without rebooting, boot to recovery and flash the Magisk 12.0 zip.
7. Reboot and check the 3 sections to see if MagiskSU has been locked in, no warning should come up when activating Magisk hide.
Done.
I started using Invicta OS on my G4 Plus. I wanted to root so I tried to flash Magisk v14.
It seemed to be done without any errors, but once booted, there is no magisk app and not rooted.:crying:
Did i do something wrong?

InvictaOS is prerooted. Just enable it in Dev. Option.
Magisk zip in TWRP also needs Magisk Control App (Google it for download link and sideload it).
Superuser.zip flash in TWRP and phh Superuser apk from Play store are second option.
SuperSU 2.82 zip flash in TWRP is 3rd option (includes SuperSU app)

I tried this on Stock 7.1.1 and it went well. First, I uninstalled the SuperSU by full unroot, and rebooted to TWRP recovery, flashed magisk installer zip and installed Magisk manager.

So I got a G935FD and I rooted it with Supersu zip from XDA but can't run some apps like TextNow that detect root. I want to switch root from SuperSu to Magisk. I tried but failed 3-4 times through twrp flash. Need Magisk to hide root status from certain apps. Please help thanks
