it turns the LED light off for everything. I want my LED on for missed calls, received messages, and so on.
anyway, I found a solution: you can use a 3rd party app to turn your screen Black, not off, which in AMOLED panels both are almost the same thing. I use the Blackr app.

Are the leds crazy?

Well i dont wether this is normal or not on this model but, my leds are always blinking blue (BT) and green (GSM). Although, if i receive a message or the battery is low, the led's still blink in the same color. Only if i receive a call and dont pick it up, then the led changes to yellow(?). This situation occurs in standby mode. But if i turn on the device then when i receive messages the led goes yeallow and if the battery is low it blinks red. In addition if a have an aplication like media player, playin in standby mode (screen turned off) then the leds blink like the device is turned on (described above). Is this normal? In my prophet, the led's blink like they should wether the device is on standby or on.
Have you read the manual? Search the net if you don't have a copy.

touch hd led light

i just purchased a touch hd and was wondering why the led indicator lights are not flashing?
i notice that there is an led indicator light on the power button and also next to the earpiece; from my old tytn II, the led indicator flashed amber for service and also blue for bluetooth.
i currently have service and my bluetooth is on, but i don't have any flashing indicators.
is there a setting to turn them on?
This is not a led is a light sensor.

The one next to the earpiece is a light sensor.
The other flashes green for missed event, stays green for finished charging, amber for charging, and flashes amber if you're low on power.
Is there a registry hack to get the "old" LED behaviour? (Cell locked in=Flashing green, Notification = flashing yellow, Bluetooth = flashing blue etc.)
I don't think there is a solution for this (yet).
in anycase, it is only a bi-colour LED - ie Amber and Green - no blue.
I have the same problem: my green led flashes for missed calls but not for incoming messages.....
Can you help me?
Thanx a lot

Start, Settings, Personal, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications, Messaging: New text message, Flash light for....
That LED is so tiny and dim I find it's easier to just hit the power button and look at my screen to see if I have missed calls/texts/etc.
well theorticall you woud have to seek out the powr button with eyes first
kdding
Thanks.....
My HD have an Italian ROM and the translation is poor...... nothing about "led blink"
I've resolved checking a flag translated as "turn on screen if incoming message".........
I think i'll try a WWE rom.....
Thanx a lot
dani, that is the correct option. Italian translations suck

can I turn off blinking yellow light?

I have the HDC 3600i Pro.
This is a little annoying (at night) so I wonder if there is a function to turn off the yellow operation light or at least stop it blinking.
note I'm talking about the light just above the screen.
I think the light is the one that says you have a link to the mobile carrier and the simplest solution is probably to put your Trinity face down on a cushion. It's what i do.
I did eventually find a hack called LED killer which I install and no blinking light
note it just disabled the blinking behaviour all the other functions like charging and wifi and bluetooth are still active..
exactly what I wanted
I think the LED killer is good for all HTC devices apparently.
Yes, you can change the led status by nueLed, i do the same for the Status Led that disturb my sleep

LED Notification Light Not Working

Does any else have a issue with their LED Notification Light not working?
No light when charging, or SMS, or Email, Missed Call, Low Battery... never lights up. Almost thought they forgot to install the LED until I used LightFlow to test it. And even then it only works when the screen is off, once the power button is pressed to turn the screen on then LED goes off, even though I set LightFlow to clear notification Manually. (LightFlow was just used to test if the LED was installed/functional.)
Uninstalled LightFlow, send myself a couple test emails and text(from another phone) and There was no LED notification light, just the notification sound.
Really hoping this is a software issues so I don't have to request a replacement device from Google...
Edit/Update: I'm pretty sure this is a software related issue and not hardware, as the LED is there and functions (with the help of 3rd party app, which we should not have to use) - So I'm trying to get a poll here of how many people have issues with the LED Notification light not working. Something to report to Google/Bug Report.

I believe the reason is that the software has not been updated to be completely compatible with 4.2+

What software are you referring too? LightFlow?
This topic has nothing to do with LightFlow...

Mine doesn't work either. I tried LightFlow and while it did light up the LED for some things, but not all that I selected, it was too faint to see, have to be in total darkness to see it.
The led isn't supposed to flash when the screen is on. Its been this way with every nexus.

But does your LED work when the screen is off? Mine and the OP's don't unless you use a third party app.

I don't know. I've had lightflow installed since first boot.

Is the Notification Light activated under display settings?
Mine worked, but not really well, I only saw it once when sending myself a test mail. Now I'm using Light Flow, which works nearly perfect (sometimes it doesn't seem to work until I enable the screen for a second and then disable it again)

Pulse notification light is checked
Im having the same problem. My led doesnt seem to come on no matter what. I know it worked out of the box because I have seen it light up with light flow but now im wondering if it quit completely and if I should do an RMA.
Mine has been working fine. It's white for TXT's, green for a lot of other things like FB and whatsapp
Yes the "Pulse notification light" option is checked.
I woke today with 6 New emails, 4 text messages, and 1 missed call... No LED Notification light was on, blinking or doing anything.
There not being a notification light is bugging the heck out me, 'cause I depend on them when my phone is on silent at work so I'm able to know there is a message waiting without having to stop what Im doing to turn the screen on every 5 min.

Try 'Blink'
Try the app 'Blink' very simple and its works for my N4
are you waiting 10 seconds before turning the phone on? Thats how long it takes before it blinks again. Whoever programmed the LED truly hates LED notifications because he made it blink so slowly and dimly that nobody could possibly notice it.

Yup, sat there watching the phone for a good 2-3 min after hearing the Notification sound for new email / text. (screen off)
Not sure if its suppose to or not, but I don't even get a LED Notification light when the phone is charging or charged (have to turn phone on to check if the phone is done charging.) Past devices I've had used the LED to notify of charging/charged.
It's normal that it doesn't glow when charging. I really can recommend Light Flow, then you can customise the notification as you wish (the free version is good, I bought the full version because I need steam support, but for normal use there is no need to buy it)

Ok, so my notification light wouldnt work no matter what. I uninstalled sms popup and now light flow works like it should. I guess the sms popup was somehow blocking light flow from allowing it to activate.
No notification light shows while charging, hence why when you charge the phone when it's off, it shows an animation on the screen. It should for calls, texts, emails, etc. though. Mine works. It even shows blue for facebook and white for texts/emails. Not sure why it wouldn't work. Have you gotten the 4.2.1 update?
Additionally, light flow states in its description that it doesn't work on most lg phones.

Blinking Blue LED?

Hello,
My phone Blinks with blue LED's occasionally. It seems to be a double flash and does not indicate a notification. It reminds me of the S3 Touchwiz motion detector and I have checked that I do not have the SMART ON settings enabled.
Anyone know what these may be?

It is a notification of one of the accounts you are connected to, somehow. Have you turned the LED off in settings?
Turn LED off (settings, display, scroll to bottom)>restart phone>turn LED back on
