I post it here because I think this is a general problem on all roms
They changed something in YouTube, it crashes now. All people on stock/custom roms are complaining about it , it started this morning so it is posible that it works later on today. In the mean time if you can not wait ..........
This is not a real fix , everybody is getting chrashes on the A500 and G100W , I even tested it with my original rom and older versions like 3.01 and 3.1 ,3.2 and official 3.2.1 roms , YouTube keeps chrashin when you try to play video.
Only fix I got now is this :YouTube fix
It is Phone youtube but it will work ! Just put the quality at HD and you are good to go , just the layout is different and more for phones. This is the best I can do .
Or wait till google or youtube got it solved.
For people who don't have the problem please give info on what rom and kernel you are using !!!!!!!!!!!
The problem is FC when playing a video , youtube app loads just fine but the moment you want to play video it crashes.

Not just starting the app but watching movie ?
I had this problem on my HTC EVO View 4G (honeycomb) and my a500 last night. Force closes on EVERY video. Works flawlessly on my phone though.
Just confirming.
Keep up the good work Civato!
PS. The Evo View 4G isn't rooted.

Thanks will try it now , maybe they fixed it.
I contacted Thor this morning and he told me youtube didn't work on his device so it must have been a temporary problem , reflashing now , been working on R9 today and trying to go around that YouTube problem.
I seems for nothing then . Will report back later

It sure is working my friend. I saw thor's thread was filled with comments about youtube wasn't working (including mine )
Looks like it's working again!
Yep it is fixed , all is working again , will ask to close this.
For the perons who want YouTubeTablet.apk again here it is:
Flash with cwm:YouTube for Tablet app
I asked to close the thread ! As it seems problem is solved !
Ok, I get it to work, somehow.
It is an early release, not tested, use on your own risk!
It is not suitable to daily use, only for testing. It crashes often. It's not bad but this crashes are no-go for normal usage
I based on work from kasper_h and C-o-M so they should be credited for this.
I will post buildable sources later, but there are no changes from repos of this two guys, only some merging
As for gapps I used this one:
http://duckbox.info/android/gapps-wingray-kk-20131223.zip
but they are little buggy
you may try any from this thread or even some other for KK:

I am not sure what is working and what is not, but for sure these are working:
WiFi
Camera
3G
And HDMI output is broken as in every post-4.2 ROM
IT IS ONLY FOR P7300 VERSION (3G one)! When it wil be more stable I will build wifi version as well.
Ok, but you probably don't care about all of this and just want a dowload link
Here it is:
omni-4.4.2-20140103-p5-HOMEMADE.zip

Thanks to keep alive our tablet:good:

Thank you so much mate
so overall it's a great ROM and it has lots of working stuff in it like:
WIFI
Bluetooth
Camera [both] as for taking photos and panorama
Apps are working properly
Torch
3G
Power menu buttons
System UI
ART function seems to be working
GPS
Keyboard
Sound
but the not working stuff are quite huge, I know it is kind of alpha and early release
so this bug list is only to help you develop the ROM:
it is so laggy
lots of random hot reboot and some times normal reboot
lots of crashes
camera video recording
screenshot capture [Storage may be in use]
(which is why I didn't provide any screenshots)
Thank you again for your hard work
hope you'll be able to make this ROM better
Great! Since Kitkat is supposed to run better on slower devices i hope this one will be also faster than the older android versions

no, even mic is not working in any app as for now
I dont plan to work on this feature as I have data-only card in tablet... Not before more important features.
and about screenshots they will probably never work. Guy from 10.1 tried to enable them and it causes even more UI lag...
Thanks for your work, man!
I was expecting for someone who will rebuild this rom for our tablets! (was reading gt 10.1 thread for a while).

I'll fix voice calling, as I use it sometimes.
BTW, our tablet need special patch for rotation animation:
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/ac555b9ca9a76d13a26fc9ea40980fe57258761b
It requres rebase, though. Line 200 of services/java/com/android/server/wm/ScreenRotationAnimation.java is now line 223.
My own build still don't boot. Both boot.img and system files are broken after building..
Thanks for your work. In the 10.1 forum they have already a pretty good working version. Is it possible to use the same sources/manifests of the P75xx for the P73xx devices, so that whenever they do any changes that we also get the same changes for the P73xx?
@DemonGloom: I think you already tried it?

Yes, we are using almost the same device trees. Just wait for @pax0r to build new version.
Currently I cannot get mic working in phone calls. Incoming/outgoing calls with headset works great.
BTW, @pax0r, should i post latest TWRP for our devices or CWM is good enough?

To be honest I would prefer one CWM, because then I can switch easily between Android 4.4 and the previous versions.
I don’t see any reason that TWRP doesn't do that for you

This seems to be problem of AOSP based ROMs in combination with the GoogleNow app. I had it with some few other ROMs too. But I'm not sure. Anyone else know something about that?

Is there any fix floating around for Bluetooth for the latest?? Or wait for next release?
Bluetooth Not Working
I just installed this ROM on my S5 900F and yes, I do also experience bluetooth issues.
I've only tried it with my bluetooth speaker but it cannot throw even if it's already paired.
Any fix for this?
Thank you in advance.
I'm curious about something....why is the Galaxy S5 not in the official PAC-man website or forums ? is it not officially supported?
Also - anyone has any ETA on when BT will work again ? This is kind of a big issue with an otherwise very good ROM.
Some people say that going back to the 13/10 build solves the BT issue - care to share a link to that build please?

Sigh. This has literally been weeks now. I hate pissing and moaning about it, but what's the point of all this (I mean, you already go into it knowing your fingerprint reader is done , which is fine) but Bluetooth? That's a major deal breaker. I mean come on already! This was a problem I had with my Epic 4G 2 years ago. And it's not specific to this ROM, before anyone gets to thinking I am picking on the devs (far from it, I love them all). Maybe I should get an iPhone! Lololololololl Jk. But I am seriously considering Odinning back to stock, rerooting, and just debloating the stock firmware. Not that anyone cares. The ROMs these days just aren't getting the job done.

Hi, went to fire up my Q & nothing works. It's been a couple years.
I'm looking to get as much functionality out of get as possible. Hoping I can use it as a Pandora/podcast player & amp for speakers, art a minimum. Would love to be able to cast video as well.
When I search the threads for the word Stable nothing referring to a ROM comes up.
What ROM do you recommend for as stable service as possible?
Any good tutorial for rooting the Q or ?
Thanks all

I use it with allcast to play music in my workshop. It looks awesome with two small (but good speakers).
Hi
As most of us all know that oreo roms are stable and giving good results.but all roms lack Ok Google feature when screen is off.and no one seems to fix it i wonder is it because its difficult or simply because people don't find it compelling enough.
What if i wanted to fix this issue? What would be a good start in the right direction?
Also if any one knows or has info that can help please share.
Thanks

Bro almost all nexus phones have this functionality to activate Ok Google from screen off. I do not know about other manufacturers though but i think it can be turned on in most phones via voice or assistant settings.

I haven't fixed it for LineageOS, because I didn't know where to start.
Additionaly it's not very important for me.

All the devs who put out such ROMs can't they just debug or know where code requires modification.??
Also do you know a coder or dev that you think has a chance of doing it.
Thanks

I don't know what you think who those devs are. I did the oreo bringup for shamu, but I am a hardware developer and my software skills are very limited.
Additionally all devs do it in their free time and for fun. If a feature is not implemented or not fixed then there is a high chance that nobody is interested or able to fix it.
If you want it working then you should learn to debug and to code.

Bro i meant no disrespect to any dev who do such work, i appreciate their hard work . I also realize that they take special time to do such work.I didn't knew much about how its all done. But since you explained, i thank you.
And i think as you mentioned i will look into it myself. :good:
Today i used nokia 6.1 with Android Oreo 8.1 , i checked its assistant and to my surprise it too did not supported ok Google function with screen off.
So my guess is that its more of an Android 8.1 change , they have limited this functionality to certain phones.
This means it is not a bug, and needs some custom coding or programming/modification to make it work again .
Well i think i am isolated but i shall continue to find what ever i can and post .
I read on Reddit post of this problem and a user posted build prop trick where one tricks the Nexus 6 into thinking its a pixel device.
I tried but it didn't worked and also camera app crashed too. Voice match remains greyd out , it did how ever at first showed sign that its working but nope upon real testing it failed.
I then tried switching name to nexus 6p and it enabled one option which was previously greyd out, it allowed me to record and voice and asked for pin to use voice match but then disabled 'use ok google from any screen' option. .... and camera was not working too..
Is it the right direction? perhaps..perhaps not.
Update:
This issue is definitely from Google's server side, the voice match issue is not present on nexus 5 and nexus 7 tablet. here is a thread of ongoing discussion.
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/0GmbO8FgvQg;context-place=forum/nexus
I think Google decided to ditch ok Google screen off functionality altogether from Nexus 6. There tech team never responded to the complaints mad by users. So it's kinda dead now.

I've been looking for a solution to this. I spent a weekend last month flashing various 8.1 and 7.1.X roms and trying to renable it. Same story every time. Apparently Google's just decided we don't get to use this feature anymore. I'm gonna start playing with other assistants (Cortana, Alexa, Hound, Autovoice) and see if any work like we want Assistant to.

Has anyone tried this on a 100% stock, unrooted device? I got Google One for being a good Local Guide, and Google Customer Support says root may cause this. I'm going to try Magisk Hide and report back.
