Gameboid Instructions-Mini-guide, Installation from phone, no pc needed :)

Just letting you all know, if you did not already, Gameboid works amazingly on the desire.
Instructions.
1), Download the GBA BIOS.bin file, wack it in a folder on your SD card called something like "GBA files".
2), Open up Gameboid and find the BIOS file.
3), when its loaded pick a ROM and play your heart out.
I am currently playing pokamon emerald with full speed and sound.
I know this is in the G1 section for full instructions or help, but just posting to let you all know its bloody amazing and works a treat.

then it really would be the best app around !

followed directions and it says Load bios Failed. the valid bios file must be specified in settings.

Actually the bios is correct for Gameboy COLOUR, but i will add yours for Gameboy ADVANCED..
Remember to check what game your going to play!!
GBA or GBC....

ok thank you it loads now but it just shows the game boy screen. Wasn't the roms supposed to be included? and how do I load them?

download the roms you want from www.doperoms.com put them on your SD then open the app and load

Hi Guys.
Just got this working on my desire after a struggle with out of date files not to mention corrupted files but it all seems to be working fine now

Only problem is I cant exit.
If I just exit via the home button it carries on running in the notification bar
Have to go into a task manager or such like to kill it???

Can't work
Hi all, I am using Gingerbread 2.3.3 now and the gameboid refuse to work. When I tried to upload a ROM, then suddenly it stopped functioning. It worked perfectly fine when I use Froyo 2.2.1. Can someone help me? or do I need to downgrade it to Froyo just for Gameboid.

Your a lifesaver. I searched earlier this year for this and struggled to find it. Pokemon FTW

How many of you have problems with the game?
It hangs when I start a new game
It actually loads until the part where the character appears on screen and when it loads all the navigational pad and buttons, it hangs
I thought this was updated for SGS2 already?

Yeah...No.
Lemme explain:
The app was updated to work with the GS2,but at first it didn't work properly(Or in my case didn't work at all,like it does for you.Unless you believe that it works like what you describe).It closed just after selecting my character,like when I ran it with CF3D.
Sometime yesterday though a second update was released,that clearly stated that Galaxy S II users should completely uninstall and then reinstall to update.After that ,it does work.It's still buggy though,it lags and it closes randomly sometimes,But hey,it's a first step in the right direction!

When it hangs the music is still playing in the background
Interestingly, the main menu, at the bottom right corner, the version is still 5.0
I already downloaded the 5.3.1 version...

That reminds me of when I tried to play the game on my DHD with the nVidia plugin(didn't know that a Qualcomm version was available,I thought it was Tegra-only).It hanged when first showing the level,music played,but all I could see was a door.Nothing would move.
So,try uninstalling,deleting the files from /sdcard/Adroid/data/com.trendy.ddapp.xxx(don't remember exactly the name) if they aren't automatically deleted,and then reinstall anew from market.Hope that fixes it.

That's the problem!You shouldn't be using the NVidia plugin!The game works with no plugin now.Tegra version has problems for other handsets.

It does work, though your might need to uninstall the app first.
It runs perfect on mine. no shutdowns whatsoever.
Except that after a few waves, the round move cursor gets extremely hot. (near the front face camera).

Yeah. It would have been hotter if not for the heat sink in the phone.
It's a but unnerving pushing intense graphics on the phone though.

There is a new update for DD! 5.3.4... anyone tried it out yet?

This game is poorly optimized. It runs like crap on any phone, even Tegra 2 phones.

[TWEAK] Status Bar Tweak for Game Compatibility

This was made for CM7 A3.5, not sure if it'll work right on other builds.
What this does specifically:
1) It makes the status bar 168 in height.
2) It adds 133 padding to the top of the status bar to align the status bar contents back to the bottom.
What it achieves:
1) 16:9 App Space, if a game was designed to compensate via stretch, scale, etc..., for the status bar. A lot of games do.
2) It makes quite a number of games made specifically for 16:9 tablets have better or functional touch UI's so you can actually play them. Dungen Hunter 2 for example will require this. Majesty: Fantasy Kingdom works better with this. Exitium: Saviors of Vardonia needs this to have a fully functional UI in all menu's etc...
Downside:
1) You will have a huge chunk of black space on your status bar. Maybe someone more bord can go elaborate and write a toggle button for this or something. I'm not there yet. Lmao. & I've gotten used to it, so it's not that ugly anymore. I rather have functionality over pretty until ICS comes out.
Instructions:
Back up your
/system/framework/framework.apk
/system/app/SystemUI.apk
copy provided framework.apk to /system
copy provided SystemUI.apk to /system
change permissions of provided framework.apk to RW-R--R--
change permissions of provided SystemUI.apk to RW-R--R--
move provided framework.apk to /system/framework and overwrite
move provided SystemUI.apk to /system/app and overwrite
dungeon hunter 2 and exitium are the best example of what this tweak makes work.
for dungeon hunter 2: the graphics and touch control graphics are aligned to the bottom of the screen while their respective touch location on the screen is aligned to the top. the offset between touch location and graphic makes the game unplayable.
for exitium: the menus and stuff overlaps, you can't even access your cash account online to grab your free coins for buying the game. a lot of menus are overlapped, armor screens are overlapped, etc... because the aspect ratio the GUI was designed for is 16:9.
Game List that this tweak helps on (more 2 come):
Dungeon Hunter 2 Samsung GP1000 version + must have ChainFire3D and Reduce Texture to 16bit.
Exitium: Saviors of Vardonia
Asphalt 5 Samsung GP1000 version

I'm assuming this wouldn't work on the MIUI ROM.

well, you need ChainFire3D to get some of the gameloft games working.
toggle 16bit textures on. & try the Nvidia and THD plugins.
this is in addition to ChainFire3D. like Dungeon Hunter 2 was unplayable even when working due to the touch positions being displaced from the visual UI. this helps the put the visual UI @ their touch positions.
also, after you purchase the game from gameloft, you'll have to search the net for the Samsung Galaxy P1000 Tablet apk of the game. there's a thread at rootzwiki on game compatibility that gives a lot of info on how to get some of these games working.

well you guys should really post what's wrong with it when you play it if you're gonna ask questions like this. lol. tested, it seems to be working fine.

Ok so when I play asphalt 6 it looks like the borders are cut off. I cant see the whole car or other things around the border. Is this what this will fix? Sry for the newbism.

Sorry. The game loads and you can log in if you actually signed up and the screen is just black and you can hear music. I also went into settings and disabled the status bar when an app wants full screen and this did not fix the game from staying just black and having music.

hmm. im not having this problem. using CM stock A3.5. with ChainFire3D installed but default options only. the initial log in, i had to press hide status bar. then worked fine after that.

Interesting. Maybe I will clean install or something. I tried using chainfire but I am not sure if I am installing the plugins properly. Nothing seems to happen when I try to enable a plugin. Do I need pro?
And you can see your "kingdom"? I'm shocked that the game is working for you.

yeah, works perfectly fine as far as i can tell. i planted crap and got to level 5 so far, working fine. menu's fine on the patched up systemui and framework-res.

Whoa, I tried reinstalling without doing anything different and I am stuck on a "Loading" screen. I've been on it for about 10 minutes. About how long did it take you to get past this screen?
Yeah, the game is stuck on the Loading screen. It should be saying "Downloading content" or something like that. Bummer. Not sure what is going on.
I even uninstalled xron and installed CM 7 3.5 and I am stuck on the "loading" screen.

ok, googled the issue, and read complaints about not being able to connect & apparently the game makers of this game are retarded; this game has an issue, not device specific, where people can't connect to the content servers. & are SOL because the game developer is completely ignoring the issue. some people complained about un-install, then re-install, and bricked the game. so I tried that, and bam! stuck at loading screen like you. lmao! i guess try to make a new account and see if that'll let you in. the first time i tried it was with a new acct. obviously it's a server or major development problem if you can get in with new accounts but can't get in with an already active one.
add: no luck with new account either. maybe it's just random luck to get into the content download server? lmao. sry, i didn't think ahead and titanium back my app data for you & me before i un-installed and re-installed. lol. i guess if someone out there could provide titanium back up data on this apps external data we could just restore that and avoid having to connect to download it.

I get this on Backstab too and don't know how to resolve the issue. Also have a problem with Bejeweled 2, it won't even start to download the 40MB of extra data that is needed just sits there are 0%. Actually the 0% changes to NaN!!

Gaming and Bluetooth problem with my Note .. HELP

Hello guys,
For me buying the "Galaxy-Note" was for entertainment (Games) and watching movies,
can't complain about the screen for watching movies purposes , but I had some problems with games ??
1)
The first problem is with the ChainFire3D .. I did every thing from installing the driver, Nvidia Plugins and tried " Sprinkle ", it worked fine once, but it kept crashing when I tried it for the second time, it just loads and crashes.
2)
The second issue that am having is with my Bluetooth,
everybody knows that you can play PSX games by using different emulators,
but on screen controls just sucks?? So I tried the "Sixaxis controller" app to play games with my PS3 Sixaxis Dualshock 3, but after checking that my phone would work fine with it by running "Sixaxis Compatibility Checker" first .... It showed me that my device "G-Note" appears to be compatible !!
So I installed the "Sixaxis Controller" app and changed the input method to Sixaxis ... but it just don't work when I press "Start" and it tells me "Connection Failed" instantly ??
Note that >>>> the Bluetooth address never appears in the app ??
Am I missing something here ??

It worked fine with my htc Desire GSM running CM7 .. but when applied the same for my note ... it just don't work ...
but the real Q is >>> Why isn't the app showing by Bluetooth Address at all ??
cuz my desire showed it from the first time without problems ??

Here and from this point my problem begins ..., since my G-Note have no Bluetooth address that I can't pair my phone to !! If you saw the first pic I posted here, you would understand what I mean ?!
Every thing seems to work, but no bluetooth address therefore no pairing possible ...

Is there any grantee that it'll solve my problem ??
Cuz flashing requires full wipe ..., and that's a thing that I don't prefer right now ...

There are several things to try before poating a question in the foruns, and they work mostly to unclutter them. Trying different ROMs and kernels is the first one. I also discovered this method saves us a lot of time, since it solves 95% of all problems.

iron man 3 and asphalt 7 not working

i installed iron man 3 the official game from play store..when i open it, i get a loading sign for a second and then the game force closes and get to my home screen..
same thing happening with asphalt 7...please help me..

Hi,
Do you have enough spare space on your phone for them to work?
Try uninstalling one and see if the other works.

i have around 5 gb free internal memory...but still both games are not working..

both are on main storage.tried uninstalling asphalt 7 and then running iron man 3..but it doesnt work.
