So, for productivity reasons, I plan to UBL and root the phone to enable dex mode without samsung dex dock.
But, I remember when I root my S7, my samsung gift application stops working (when trying to log in ,a pop up said that there is a problem with the phone identification IIRC), even in the ROM that has a "de-knoxed" feature.
Meanwhile, using that ROM, I can still use private folder (secure folder), samsung health, etc.
I already flashed my region CSC as well (XID, Indonesia), so I really have no clue about whats stopping the app.
Is there any way to re-enable the samsung gift app after the phone is UBL-ed and rooted?

I switched recently from the Note 1 to the N3 (9005, unbranded). Main reason: I want to use the Multimedia Docking Station and a hard drive to get a portable media player and laptop replacement. (The Note 1 could not use HDMI and USB host at the same time).
In order to use my existing NTFS formatted drives I wanted to install the Paragon NTFS&HFS+ app, which needs root access. Though the Vega rooting procedure will make it quite likely to root the N9005 without setting Knox to 0x1 as well, I did not know about that and used Chainfires CF-Auto-Root yesterday to root my device. (So now I got the Knox flag set to 0x1, but that is not the issue).
Having root, I could install the Paragon driver, and they detect a NTFS drive, but it cannot be mounted: I get like many other people here the message
"prevention information: An application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device"
(well, in German Language...)
Since I thought that Knox or so still might be active, I flashed then the rom "SM-N9005XXUBMJ1-PRE-ROOTED-ODEX-KNOX-FREE" in order to get rid of any Knox issues.
But connecting a NTFS drive, I got a similar message. Also NTFSmount as an alternative was stopped. One difference was, that the message did not pop up in its own window anymore. The service was just stopped. And Paragon said: Error code 1 Permission denied.
My next try was to install LBE security master which I used as an ad blocker on the older Note 1. But I ran into a kind of boot loop issue: After doing an ad scan or after rebooting the device just freezes. I guess that Samsung also locks LBE, and only the screen can still be switched on and off, nothing else. After rebooting it freezes again after a few seconds.
After several attempts I was fast enough to stop LBE in the app settings menu before the devize froze. Then I could de-install it, and the Note 3 worked fine again.
I repeated this test with newer LBE version 5.0.3967_A1_de_signed.apk with exactly the same results.
Now I am a little bit frustrated. I did not only spend the money for the Note 3, and gave up my warranty, but I am still not able to use it as a small portable media player. though in principle everything works. I pay a device and do not really own it
My questions: Is there anybody who can help me to mount external NTFS formatted drives? And if LBE security master can be made working as well, this would be even better, I don't want to allow all apps to get internet access, especially if my mobile data plan has sometimes not much room left to play with
I searched a lot, but could not find a thread about this issue so far. And I hope it is fine if I open a new one.
Thanks for reading so much, any help is really appreciated!

Nobody using a Firewall like LBE on his rooted Note 3? Or are there similar apps like LBE security master, which I am not aware off? And also nobody is trying to connect the note to an NTFS drive? Or are there just no solutions? Any help is really much appreciated.

Hi !
Actually i have exactly the same problem than you. I'd like to install LBE on my Galaxy Note 3 but it freeze the phone and you have to reboot the phone and uninstall LBE quickly before it freezes again.
I don't have any solutions but i'm in the same situation so if anybody have some tips to avoid device froze, it'll be welcome.
(may be a future version will correct that problem, hope wait will not be so long)
I too am having the same problem getting Paragon NTFS&NFS+ to "mount" after I've rooted my T-Mobile GN3 (SM-N900T) using CF-AUTO-ROOT.
I have done some reading on xda and it looks like this is due to the new Samsung security measure, so this is not GN3 specific.
Is there a solution to this atm? If there isn't can someone please tell me what those measures are that's preventing applications from running.
Many of us are getting the "Prevention Information" message:
An application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device

I finally was successful with the Saber Kernel from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484840
Now SELinux is running in permissive mode, and all apps get true root permissions. Everything fine including NTFS mounting, LBE security master etc. I only cannot get NFC being switched on, there's just a grey field.... And I cannot test LTE. But Wifi and BT work perfectly.
BTW, for me and my N9005 I could only use the "green" kernel, the red caused a boot loop, the yellow caused many apps to force close.
Now I'm looking for a solution of the NFC issue....

Thanks! I can confirm that the SaberN2Kernel resolves the issue. Paragon NTFS&HFS+ is now able to mount volumes on external usb mass storage devices. Although, in addition to the "Prevention Information" message I get prior to the kernel flash/update, I am now prompted with another notification:
Detection Information:
The device has detected an application attempting unpermited actions. To protect your device, it is recommended you reboot.

Even though I can blithely ignore these notifications, but do you know what (and how) do I need to remove from and/or disable on my system to get rid of these messages?
Since you are rooted, try the app to disable knox notification or you can use the terminal emulator method to disable knox notification. Both are available on one of the threads here.

Hey guys,
I was able to get Samsung Pay working on my N9208 Duos Note 5. Haven't tested transactions yet though.
The trick is that you have to set up Samsung Pay on a US device first. I got a 6 Edge Plus from Samsung's Ultimate Test Drive event and set it up on that device. From there I downloaded the Samsung Pay APK (version 1.3.3216) and installed on my N9208. I was able to log in.. Can't set up a card though because I don't have a card from one of the supported banks.
Maybe you can log into Samsung Pay from a test/demo unit at a store.. You don't have to add a card, just sign in. Once you sign in and accept the terms you can sign right out by going to "Reset App".
Hope this helps someone
Is your device rooted? I'm trying to figure out if anyone got SPay working on a rooted device.

Root = Knox disabled so I doubt theres any hope of that.
Just installed the apks on my n9208. I can sign in. But adding a card gives me an error.
so my friend found a samsung galaxy express 3 from at & t and wanted me to set it up for him. so he gave it to me, first thing i did was factory reset it in recovery mode. Then problems started. I dont have the previous owners account so i need to bypass the google verification. But i have no idea how. ive tried the side sync method, the open with option never showed up. this phone doesn't have usb hosting so i cant use an otg cable. i tried the real term method, just an error when i put the codes. i tried the no computer methods, i can get into ultra power saving mode, but thats it. with the other no computer methods it comes down to restarting it, and when it comes back on theirs camera access but for me when i restart it its locked, but no camera or phone access. ive tried every option i could find and even tried installing a stock ROM, succeeded with the stock rom installation thinking it would remove the google verification but still didn't. does anybody have any ideas? i cant enable USB debugging. so i dont think i can root it and install a custom rom and disable it. at least i think. im new to this stuff so if anybody has suggestions for me then that would be great. Thank you in advance
Google frp bypass. Methods have changed, due to patching. You need to research the most current method. I used Rootjunky's method back in the fall of 2016. Worked like a charm. Consisted of a phony call through an emulator, triggered a request for contact storage, led to browser opening playstore for a vcard app. Download frp bypass app instead, viola!! Imho, too much work for that phone.
I managed to get into chrome. Now what?
So with a bunch of messing around I managed to get into chrome through the emergency call but I'm in chrome. Which is how most methods work is through chrome. U install an app then run it and ur able to bypass it pretty much. But I can't install any apks. When I download a file it ask if I wanna download it, then starts it but never prompts me when it's done so I can't open it and install it. If I redowbload the same file it lets me look at the downloaded files and I can even get to the SD card. But if I tap on anything that's not a folder it kicks me back to the browser. So how could I get on the Samsung store to get es file explorer or install apks? Any help would be great thanks
I've had success setting up a samsung account installing es file explorer, then putting the app needed on sd card or Bluetooth it via a settings app. Rootjunky has the apks. But yes the 911 loophole is there if you don't have a sim to do a realterm dialer method
Hi All
I have a s8+ G955FD that has the latest firmware installed, but i have a problem. When I install Samsung pay, it works for a few hours.
But then I get a message saying Samsung pay has been deleted from the card issuers database, and the card is removed from the app.
I've contacted my bank (The Co-operative bank )and they have said that they have not deleted it, but they can see that it has been deleted on there system. They also say they can my gear 3 connected to Samsung pay, which is working fine.
I have called Samsung uk and they say, that the issue with my bank.
I have found that if I install Android pay on my phone, it works fine and has no problems.
Has anybody had this issue or know of a solution?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I just root my s8, but find out I'm not able to use secure folder anymore.
Is there any way that I can use it.
Or do I have to remove the root to use secure folder again.
Many thanks

Generally NO once your phone has been modified you will trip your Knox. Once Knox is tripped you can not use things like secure folder,Shealth, Samsung pay. There is no fix for a tripped knox

Bastards man, why can't they be like they used to with the S5 and below...
Now they just want people to use dumb phones and scare them away from exploring their own devices potential.
Hi,
If you had something, like the pin or password list, in the secure folder, you did the backup before rooting and now restore it, what happens with that list? Is it restored or not? If yes, where?
Thanks!

First, thinking about it, Knox is a bonus. Without Knox you still have access to every function that other Android also have. You can use Google Fit to replace Shealth, Google Pay to Samsung Pay, and Island (by Oasis Feng) or Parallel Space to Secure Folder. Obviously all of these alternatives don't perfectly replace Knox, but there is a reason to root devices lose access to Knox, it's for security. Knox is a subsystem isolated from the rest of the system to store highly confidential information. it's not about you bank data or your nudes, it's to prevent that industrial secrets you could have in your Secure Folder will not be stolen by a malware disguised as a game. There is also a hardware implementation called ARM TrustZone that stores encrypt keys and biometrical data and do security related computing. Remember now that a Root device can be deeply compromised. Normally all we do are tweaks to turn UI better, but you can also change firmware, modify system as you like, etc. To guarantee that your device are safe to store whatever your cautious boss want, Knox could verify every single file of your OS, firmware and beyond, or only verify if a bit have changed from 0x0 to 0x1. That's why they can't be like S5 and below
I'm not here exactly to defend Samsung, only trying to explain why it's works that way (and I'm not an Samsung Employee nor what to spend 3 hours explaining how it's hardware implemented, so what I'm saying is based on my own research)
