Am in the latest version of power amp with paid version. My library seems to scan the audio files endlessly...
When i tap all songs , songs are displayed but when tapped artist or album it shows nothing and says scanning library. What is wrong with it ?

i searched and the only thread i found on this topic went unanswered (link to that thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=458825).
my first issue is that i can't figure out how to clear the "now playing" list after clicking the Library soft key. i added four mp3s to see how the HTC music player worked and after having deleted them, i still see all four of the titles in the Now Playing list. how do you clear this?
my second issue is the way i organize my music. for some reason, i can't get ANY album art to show up. i embed/save the art to the mp3 itself with id tag editing software, but that doesn't work at all. i then tried making my own folder tree within my music folder on my sd card in this format: artist > album title > and mp3/album art inside this folder. when i do this, though, the music app doesn't even find the mp3! it sits on "searching" and never finds the file. wtf!
I've not as of yet discovered a way to clear it per se. But if you scroll over to albums and open a specific album, it will only show those tracks as "now playing"... so if you have only one song from a specific album, there will only be one song in your current "now playing" list.
so this is what i did:
1. deleted the My Music folder i created on my sd card.
2. soft reset the device.
3. created a new My Music folder on my sd card.
4. copied all my music over in the same format (artist > album > mp3+cover)
5. did as noodled24 said, scrolled to albums (or all songs) and clicked one track.
6. my now playing was then cleared AND all my songs + album art was there!
HTH for anyone that may be experiencing something similar...

Every now and again, I don't know what triggers it, the Sense Music Player doesn't recognise any tracks on the SD card. I tried searching for this, but couldn't find the exact same issue.
Take this morning: I walked to work listening to some stuff, no problems.
When I came to listen to some stuff later on, the Music Player had decided there were no tracks on the SD card. When I tilted the device to landscape, instead of the album art appearing, the three buttons (back-play-ffwd) that appear in protrait view remained in place, as did the progress bar, while the landscape bar arose from the bottom, but the device reported no music found. I reverted to portrait, and went into the library: apart from the tracks in the current playlist, it reported no other music on the SD card at all. re-booted twice, no change.
In all this, I hadn't changed the content - nothing added to the SD card, nothing. It did show the little revolving circle, so it was searching, but obviously missing the 12gig or so of tracks in album folders on the SD card (Storage Card/My Music)
I went to ActiveSync, and miraculously, Music Player had rediscovered all my music (don't know if the sync-ing is relevant).
This is by no means the first time this has happened.
Any clues as to what causes it? ID tags are created by the latest version of mp3tag 2.45c, tracks ripped to lame mp3.

No clue as to why it happens, but i've found that when the screen shows 'no music found'' or 'tracks have been removed' (I forget the exact wording) if you click albums, all music, , , I find all my music is still listed. Start one playing, and everything repopulates.
This unknown artist everywhere is BS. The darn artist is listed everywhere in the tags. The artist will show correctly on about 2-3 songs out of an album. Crazy!
Does anyone have any ideas what I can look at or fix?
I tried to unsync, I manually removed the music from my SDCard and removed the wmpinfo.xml file. I can edit tags on the device and still will not show correctly.
I have searched the forums and tried the various options and still coming up blank. I use Windows Media Play to rip my music at 192 kbps mp3. I have tried using WMP to sync and also tried just dragging and dropping.
I put my music on the sdcard in a music folder by artist - album - songs
Does anyone have any ideas what I can look at or fix? Really appreciate it.
Thanks
Looks like PowerAmp maybe the solution.

When ever i download an mp3 it doesn't shows up in music app,
the mp3 is downloaded in songs folder,
it shows up when i restart the phone, force stop does't works.
I had an iPhone before I switched to the S8. I used the smart transfer to get the music into the S8. Everything was fine on the iPhone but in the Samsung music app, the artist names and album names were wrong for several tracks.
When I went to the "details" of a track and removed the incorrect album, the album art disappears. The album art, artist, and album name is all correct when I look at the mp3 files on my computer or either use another music player app. The problem is just with the Samsung music player.
I have 2 examples here. imgur.com/a/Rcy5z
First is a song by Drake and Future called Big Rings. The first picture shows the wrong artist. When I went to the "edit" option, the artist shows up right.
Second is a song by Lil Dicky. The first picture shows the wrong artist and album. The wrong album is part of another artist's song. And as before, going to the "edit" option shows the right artist and album.
Even after I go the "edit" option and delete all the details and then type out the correct ones again. Nothing changes.
Anyone know how to fix this issue? I know I can use other music apps but I want this to work.
Use PowerAmp
Use PowerAmp. Excellent tag editor. Also, make sure the album art is in the folder where that album is stored and has the correct suffix filename.albumart.jpg or w/e it is. Also, using the MyFiles app you should be able to rename the mp3 file itself if need be.
