[Request] Create G900I Debricking Image (Simple Steps) - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys, I have a Bricked Galaxy S5 G900I. (No Screen, No Lights. qhsusb_bulk when plugged into PC)
After some research, I found that I need a debrick.img file to revive my phone.
The Debrick.img file is a backup of the Bootloaders (Which are corrupt on my phone).
If anyone has a Rooted S5 G900I with Busybox, Could You please create a Debrick file for me? Instructions Are Below.
In Terminal Emulator (Download From Playstore) Type -
su
busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/200mb.img bs=4096 count=50000
This will create a 200MB image file on the root of your SD Card.
This file only contains the Bootloaders files. No personal/sensitive info, imei etc.
Could you please upload the file to Mega and send me the link.
If you could I'd really appreciate it and it will also help others with bricked S5 G900Is.:good:
Cheers.

Still no luck?
CQD1?
XSA?
I don't own an "I" variant, to my sorrow.
But you may want to try this hand-made unbrick image: G900I_CQD1_Unbrick.zip
It should work if you were on CQD1.

Thanks!
I'll try writing the image to SD Card and seeing if Odin shows up.
Also, what does CQDI represent?

"CQD1?" represents a question about your phone's firmware version before brick.
It should be the same for unbrick image.
"XSA?" represents a question about CSC of your phone because pit-file version may depend on it.

My phone's firmware is 'CPGH'. Does the previous firmware have to be identical to launch download mode from sd card? (then use odin to flash correct bootloader + firmware)

Yes, from what I've heard.
You can try, definitely.
And if you can direct me to CPGH firmware I'll try to make a debrick image from it.

I've attempted to access Download mode using the G900I CQD1 Unbrick Image. No Luck
After more research, I've found that the firmware code(found in CSC) changes with each update and I'm not sure which update is the one before brick(101 diff updates), But I do know that this is a TNZ Region phone which only has 8 diff firmware updates.

Does it need the specific firmware before brick or can I use the first firmware made?(Maybe they made newer updates compatible with old ones)
Also, after putting sd card in phone, in device manager on pc it has changed from 'qhsusb_bulk' to 'Qualcomm HS-USB qdloader 9008'.

Don't you remember if it was Android 6, 5 or 4? It may help.
Ok, I'm downloading G900IDVS1CQA1 now. We'll see if it helps...

[Q] Flashing Kit Kat 4.4.2 Question

Hello,
I'm on the new side with flashing in such and need to know what file is run in Odin on the PDA line? The videos always show a MD5 file but I don't see one in the zip file I downloaded. How would I go about creating this file type? The remaining steps of the process seen easy.
Thanks, in advance

I'm somewhat confused here. Are you saying that I must install some program in order to make a MD5 file. Maybe it would be easier if I just knew what file to run on the PDA line. Is it the BOOT.IMG file? I would like to run this new KK software.
Thank you!

Okay in this screen shot there's the Odex rom and then the deodexed rom. Last is the firmware.
After you have flashed either one of the Odex or Deodexed roms in Safestrap 3.65 stock slot and remember to wipe the stock slot first.
So after the rom is flashed the don't reboot system but reboot to download mode and open up odin.
Prior to doing all this download the firmware to your computer. Once downloaded extract the the file that shows the as tar. After having odin open click on the PA and put that file in there and let it run its course checking the file. Then when it's done hit start.

Here's a pic off my pc of the file that goes in AP slot for Odin.
Odin will run MD5 check on it automatically and say it's valid. Then from there just have you phone in download mode and hooked up to pc and hit start.
not sure if you have seen this tutorial or not.

[Q] I can't find a good .md5 for rooting

I'm just trying to root my note 3.
The steps seem easy, I have odin, I can put my phone into bootloader mode, but every .md5 I try Fails in odin.
The "root" tab on this website is aged and doesn't specify Verizon Kitkat SM-N900V
so obviously everything I tried there failed.
does anyone have an md5 for this I can use?

Awesome, this looks like a step in the right direction but it seems that I have to create the custom firmware, but it has to be done with a Linux terminal.
"How to use Universal Root de la Vega:
Open a terminal to the directory containing URDLV.sh (not windows command prompt)"
I don't have linux, and I may be missing something but I don't see a way to do this with windows. Any ideas?

Alright.. well, I ran that md5 through Odin and it failed. I got this:

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And I guess it corrupted my firmware or something because my phone wouldn't boot after that. Had this "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please use Software Repair Assistant & try again."
Thankfully in my adventures of trying to root this damn thing, I've encountered this before and have a stock md5 to recover the phone when this happens.

Try flashing back to V10A via TOT, then upgrade regularly via LG Mobile Support Tool (it will automatically first upgrade to KK, only then to LP, so you can choose your version that way). V20* doesn't work properly in some cases.

Stock US rom anyone?

Has a anyone received a copy of the Stock rom (update.app) yet? Waiting for it so I can bootloader unlock and dig in.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
I have just ordered this tablet from China, I might need this rom in the next few days. It would be grateful if anyone can upload this rom.
As far as I know there has not been an update released for the US tablet. It's just a matter of time, I hope.
@avocadopat I would say you are better off to leave what you have on the tablet you bought and select English as your language. US software disables 5GHz wifi and no telling what else.
OTA, not full in firmware finder but......
If I put the c128b003 OTA(us version wifi?) update.app in a dload folder on the root directory and did the Vol up, vol down, power button press and it seems to update but the about screen does not reflect this. Any ideas why? Is there a way to flash the update.zip without extracting the update.app from it?

If you look at the content of the update.zip archive, you'll see that it contains a number of .patch files and update.app. These .patch files are actualy the modifications for system and other partitions (patch file name corresponds the partition). They contain only differences between the new version of firmware and your current. Moreover, these patch files can be applied only to a certain version of firmware (the one they're made for). The last question is what is the update.app made for? It is made for updating other partitions, like modem, oeminfo, etc. I think the reason for this is that patch files are made with android build system and other partitions have no relation to it, so they're built somehow else. So, if you say you succeded updating, you actually had updated only service partitions, not the system itself (or maybe you actually had updated even nothing, because we don't know how smart Huawei recovery is).
Well then, I do have the btv-w09c128 and the ota is the c128. How do you update with the full zip then?
My version now is c128b002.

Lumia 520 cannot flash partition

Hello there !
I have an issue where I want to go back to Windows from fastboot as explained in this post :https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...nt/restore-windows-phone-8-installed-t3608223 .
I have my TZ.bin and other necessary files, but when trying to flash them with the command "fastboot flash partition TZ.bin", I get this error message:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
Is there someone here smarter than me who knows how to solve that ?
First, it's TZ.img don't use .bin
Second, if you want to flash, for example, TZ partition use this:
fastboot flash TZ dump\TZ.img
You have to replace partition with the partition name (in this case TZ).

I don't remember how to do it, but i did it like a year ago and it broke some things like Bluetooth (and i think that SIM Card too). That's why it's recommended to use your phone backup.
Why do you think that your backup is corrupted?

My file is only about 2Gb large instead of the 8Gb it should be, and imgman64 does not manage to extract anything from it.
That's why I downloaded the .ffu and extracted teh different partition files, but in a .bin format.
If you remember how you did it I'd be interested (I don't really mind about Bluetooth or calls) !

Same problem than today, replace partition with the partition name (TZ in this case).
