VoLTE Problem - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

Everytime i flash a custom rom a don't get the volte even after wiping the system partition..please help..
thanks in advance

For working VoLTE you need to flash stock miui via fastboot. Then unlock bootloader and flash what you want again.
Alternativly you can try flash this https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-3s/development/firmware-custom-roms-t3674514. Maybe it will help you.

Try adding ims apn.

brother I tried both methods that is flashing stock miui using fastboot and adding Ims apn..
Nothing Works.
On every custom rom I get an error that ims doesn't get registered.

Could you explain your flashing procedure?

I was using Viper OS everything was fine. I flashed Pixel Experience Rom Oreo and Volte disappeared. I tried to get back to Viper but no Volte appeared moreover device got encrypted and everytime I flash a custom rom now I get an error command not found in TWRP but flash gets successful and no Volte appears in any custom rom. I flashed MiUi 9 using fastboot and tried flashing custom roms but no Volte appeared. On every custom rom it shows me IMS not registered in Engineering Mode

Fastbooting miui should've helped with the volte issue. And twrp should not show any error while flashing. Are you using the latest 3.2.1.0? The encryption issue can be solved by 'format data' under wipe in twrp(not wipe, not factory reset, not advanced wipe, there should be a button called 'format data' in wipe option).

Let me try this

Is this brick a hardware fault or software issue?

I was flashing a cm13 rom on top of my cm12.1 rom when I opened the camera and it soft rebooted, I powered it down mid reboot and now I can only access fastboot, or sometimes it will flash the oneplus logo over and over again. (Video below) I tried this method here (http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/how-quickly-unbrick-oneplus-2-oxygen-os-2-0-1516574) but it still does the same oneplus logo flashing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0t8BN6bZDo
How can I fix this or is it a hardware brick?
You have fast boot its not hard bricked.
You're in a bootloop, enter recovery press power+vol down wipes and flash again cm13

I can get into oxygen recovery now but wiping still wont make it boot, what can I do from here?
Edit - I adb sideloaded oxygen OS and it now boots, thanks.
This one works. Thanks @Spannaa
EDIT: OnePlus2 Stock Reset
EDIT: Glad your phone is back.

Check this. You should wait after staring the process in Chinese Application. It installs HydrogenOS recovery, so you need to install HydrogenOS via sideload. Then download OxygenOS and flash via HydrogenOS recovery.

@krishna442 - Just FYI, OnePlus2 Stock Reset is probably a better option now as it's based on the files OnePlus support use now.

twrp or any other recovery failed to detect after flashing Jerrica-MI-Cosmos20161116

After flashing jerrica kernel (Redmi 2 prime LP), my Phone is not detecting twrp recovery. I have tried fresh installation of ROM, then rooted it & installed twrp, after that I flashed kernel. after flashing kernel phone is not booting in recovery. I go to updater app & click on Reboot To Recovery, it shuts down & opens up to bootloader everytime.
kindly help me out.
(What am I doing wrong ?)
Thank You

Check whether u r in lollipop bootloader or not.
After flashing the kernel just flash the twrp.IMG also. And check whether this works r not.

ok, just flash a lollipop mi rom using a mi flash tool and then download the zip file and keep it in your phone or sd card. then open your update app in your mobile and right side there will be three dots click it and then click the "choose update package" and now locate the zip file where you kept and just flash it and it will automatically do it. and then check the twrp. try this method..:good::good:

Factory reset in twrp. flash rom and twrp. Setup phone and flash afterwards kernel and magisk if needed
Anyone know if it has support for esim on Fi?
Flashing this will remove TWRP and Magisk. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Yes it will according to what I've been reading. I just got my pixel and have been trying to catch up with all the new a and b slots and how recovery is now baked into the boot.img, so from what I understand is that if you flash anything new such as rom or kernel a flash of both twrp and your choice of root is needed also or you will have stock recovery. So much different from my Nexus 6P. Lol. I have a lot to learn that's for sure

I've been running since yesterday. Spaceman killed it! Amazing work, where can we donate?

Yes but you can reflash twrp and magisk with absolutely no errors ,also twrp has no touch issues with the kernal that's already baked in rom!!!! It's a great rom!
Anyone else having trouble getting this to boot?
I've followed the instructions exactly. Reboot to TWRP (3.2.1-0), factory reset via the wipe menu, install the ROM .zip followed by the TWRP installer zip.
Go to reboot, TWRP asks me if I'm sure I want to do this as there's not an OS installed. I don't know what else to do other than say 'yes' and then it boots to the Google logo with the unlocked icon at the bottom of the screen and just hangs indefinitely at that point. Tried redownloading and recopying the ROM .zip to internal storage and all steps again too.
Any ideas? I've wiped this damn phone so many times and flashed the factory images so many times trying to get a custom ROM to work I'm about to give up. And my phone seems to damn janky where sometimes it does that same freeze on boot (or freezes on the TWRP splash screen) but then a quick reboot will fix it. Doesn't make any sense.

I went back to latest stock using deuces script. Boot twrp. Flash twrp then the rom...boot the rom. Go back into twrp and flash magisk
I had no problems getting it to boot, I followed the op. Factory reset, flash ROM, flash magisk, flash twrp and boot into system. It booted right up no problems

Did you let the phone do it's initial boot after deuce's script ran? Or just stayed in fastboot mode, fastboot booted to TWRP, and flash the ROM and TWRP installer zip?
Also, did you format userdata when given the option in deuce's script? And you flashed TWRP before the ROM? I was under the understanding that the ROM flash would erase the TWRP install.
EDIT: I didn't format userdata, didn't reboot afterwards (just booted straight into TWRP and proceeded), and flashed TWRP before ROM and now it is indeed booting. Just need to figure out now whether or not TWRP is still installed. Many thanks! Deuce's must have fixed something I must have janked I guess.
EDIT2: Yeah appears TWRP should be flashed after the ROM not (just) before like the DU post says. I'm back to stock recovery afterwards.

Flashing producer.
1. Complete wipe.(including vendor,data,internal)
2. Flash twrp installer
3. Flash skydragon and twrp installer
4. Reboot to twrp.
5. Install open gapps and magisk.
6. Reboot to system.
And it goes to crash dump or fastboot.
I tired with different versions of twrp.
Different rom.

Can you try booting to TWRP and flashing it to be permanant by itself, reboot into TWRP, THEN flash skydragon alone and see if you can boot?

You cannot install a custom rom with a locked bootloader.
Did you toggle OEM unlock in Developer options?
Do you know which software channel it was on?
