Hello,
You cannot downgrade your Android version with the Verizon-model Droid Turbo 2. The Verizon-model has the bootlocker locked to a point where you are unable to rollback. Until someone cracks that code, you are stuck with whatever silly updates are pushed out. I feel your pain; I've had major issues since the most recent software update on my DT2.

[Q] ROMs for non-unlocked bootloaders

After searching around for a bit trying different (known) exploits, I've come to the conclusion that my phone's bootloader cannot be unlocked. If you know otherwise, please link me to the thread. My original goal was to install CyanogenMod, but that requires an unlocked bootloader- again, apparently not possible. Plan B is now to use Safestrap and install a custom ROM that way.
I've successfully rooted it, but that's it. Currently running:
Android Version: 4.1.2,
System Version: 98.30.1
Build Number: 9.8.1Q-94-1
Build Date: Thu Sep 26 12:24:41 CDT 2013
I'm looking for a like-CyanogenMod ROM that will work with Safestrap/locked bootloader.
Any help?
What is your kernel? That android version should be early enough to unlock your boot loader.

This phone is currently in an AP Fastboot loop-thing. I'm able to do the up/down/power combo then boot up normally, but otherwise any time it restarts, it always goes into Fastboot. It says: Fastboot Reason: "Flash Failure"
Also, booting into "Recovery" just brings up the Droid icon with a red exclamation. Should I figure these out before upgrading the firmware and continuing to unlock the bootloader? Or will it even matter?

It would be good to know either way, but it shouldn't stop you from continuing to upgrade and unlocking the bootloader.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. For the fastboot loop go [HERE] and follow #8.
2. The "dead droid" screen is recovery. > https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/88933/p/30,6720,8577
Code:
From the Android system recovery screen, press and hold the VOL UP key for 10-15 seconds. While still holding the VOL UP key tap and release the POWER key.
1. For the fastboot loop go [HERE] and follow #8.
I've tried this several times and it still boots into AP Fastboot Flash Mode, both on OSX and a Windows system. Would flashing the stock ROM remedy?

I'm not sure, honestly. It seems like it happened after I installed Safestrap. But I managed to fix it by flashing a stock image back onto it.
So now, I'm using RSD Lite 6.1.5 on Windows, trying to upgrade the firmware to 4.4.2. I had a flash failure alert after decompressing, "getvar" something or other. Edited the xml and removed that line, now it seems to be stuck at '2/20 flash partition "gpt.bin"'
Just an update so this can be "Solved" even though it went way off topic. I successfully flashed it to 4.4.2.
That gpt.bin error seemed to be RSD specific. I ended up manually flashing each file one by one. Had a hiccup at the "NON-HLOS.bin" file (modem), something about the size. Came across a thread suggesting to use a different version of fastboot, so I did (the fastboot.osx version). Restarted the entire process, grimaced when I got to the modem bit, but it ended up working. It went through the sending/writing process of system.img for about 10 minutes, repeating the same message for some reason (100ish times). But I just let it go through. At this moment-
Android Version: 4.4.2

I'd just like to apologize for being a n00b in this area. Like most, the biggest worry was bricking the phone so I was kind of hesitant to do anything on my own, even though I read through several tutorials repeatedly.
Much appreciation though, will be looking into unlocking it now that I've gotten this far.
Unlocking it is the easy part... Root with towel root then find motoapokalypse.apk and run it... Then install flashify and flash the latest twrp.

Moto X play ''preflash validation failed''

Hello my name is William!
I am new here so if this is the wrong place just tell me (oh and I'm dutch sorry if bad grammar occurs)
so I was rooting my lovely moto X play according to instructions (somewhere on this forum)
everything went well until... I had to install superSU after that it was stuck on ''warning your bootloader is unlocked''
I realized that it was soft-bricked and downloaded a stock rom (XT1562) from this forum in the hope to re-install or flash my phone back to it's stock rom but.. ofcourse my unluckiness had to strike again, when I typed in ''fastboot flash partition gpt.bin''
it said: ''(bootloader) preflash validation failed FAILED (remote failure)''
now I don't know what to do anymore, I am really getting desperate on getting my phone working again.
Can someone please tell me how to revert all this? (if it is possible) :crying:
I am not world's smartest man so just giving keywords won't really help me.
if it helps some info from my bootloader:

Problem with returning to Stock ROM on HTC U ULTRA dual Sim

Hello - need help:

The problem is that the phone always downloads the actual HTC systemupdate - starts it and then craches after 26%. So i decided to re-flash the phone with the stock rom. So i gut the following stock rom file where i guess it's teh rightz one: 2PZFIMG_OCEAN_NOTE[email protected]70502_53.34_release_503372_signed_2_4.zip
The size of the files is 1.87 GB. I guess it's the right file. Then i copied the file into the ADB directory of my pc and renamed it to "HTCROM.zip"
And that what happens:

Did you try the another method?
1. Rename zip to 2PZFIMG.zip
2. Place it on the root of the micro sd card.
3. Reboot the phone into bootloader or download mode and it'll automatically ask to flash the ROM.

But the OS Version is correct. The problem may be that the bootloader on my phone is unlooked. I also need to relook the bootloader - but i was thinking that flashing will do the job

That's possible because my phone has a strange CID:

Mate my bootloader was unlocked from HTC Dev, when I put the zip file in the root of my SD card. I didn't get any errors and successfully reverted back to stock. I reckon the issue might be the zip file you are using. Download and flash this:

It worked for my dual sim HTC U Ultra, OS was same as yours 1.62.400.1

Why do you want to get the bootloader "Locked?" If you are worried about OTA's don't worry, since flashing the stock Rom I have received two OTA updates on my phone and my bootloader is still unlocked.
For any other purposes if you want to relock the U Ultra bootloader, you can do so by running following fastboot command: fastboot oem lock. This will format all the data on your phone. You must realize that since you have already unlocked your bootloader once, the only way to get it locked again is by re-locking it.

New MotoG5 Plus stuck in bootloop

Hi everyone. I'm a new member in XDA Forums. New to Android as well. Prior to this, I used Windows mobile for 4 years.
I bought Moto G5 Plus 32GB variant. Like most enthusiasts, I tried to root my mobile and unlocked the boot-loader using Moto G5 Plus Toolkit. The root was not successful though when I checked using Root Checker. I then flashed my phone with another ROM.
Recently, when everyone was receiving August Security update and that I didn't, I flashed my mobile with another ROM . The flashing was successful. I was able to configure the mobile as well. The software was updating. My mobile never turned on in the booting process. I was sure that I hard-bricked my phone.
Thanks to this thread. I was able to bring back the boot loader to appear on the screen from a complete black-out state.
I then flashed my phone using stock ROM multiple times, but my phone has never booted. All I see is blue-colored Moto screen running on the loop.
Here are the details of my phone when it is in the fastboot mode. I hope you could help me with what needs to be done with these details.

Yes, I used blankflash when my phone was fully bricked. Now, I could at least go to fastboot mode on my phone. Should I still use blankflash? If yes, could you point me to a tutorial?

2. Fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
3. Reboot into TWRP
4. Flash whatever room you want
5. Fire up.

Stop using toolkits and learn it the manual way. And never flash a different region's image, you already found out why though

I also have an Indian variant i.e XT1686 running stock NPN25.137-67-5(latest).

Thanks, bro. I really appreciate you trying to help me. But, as my phone is soft-bricked, I'm afraid I might not be able to tell you the build number. But, I can help you with some details I have.

Stuck in Fastboot Mode

Hi,
I just got this phone and tried to root it, but accidentally flashed the factory boot.img for the 4XL, and not the 4.
I am now stuck in Fastboot Mode and I am not able to get into recovery mode either.
I've tried downloading the correct Pixel 4's boot.img and flashing that, but to no avail.
Any help is appreciated as I am quite the noob.
The Fastboot screen reads:
Product revision: flame MP1.0(NA)
Bootloader version: c2f2-0.2-594065
Baseband version: g8150-00041-191016-B-5945070
Serial number: 9B161FFAZ0029R
Secure boot: PRODUCTION
NOS production: yes
DRAM 6GB Micron LPDDR4X
UFS: 64GB SKHyinx
Device state: unlocked
Boot slot: b
Enter reason: error boot prepare
Nevermind, I figured it out. I ran flash-all.bat
