hi,
for begin i'm not developper
today I had a stupid idea and if instead of resetting to 0 the knox counter it is shorted to make it appear to 0 even if it is at 1
I will need help from someone who knows enough to short it I have to locate in the file sboot a sort of verification that passes the flag to 1 I think it's possible to leave at 1 and make it appear a 0
Everything I've read says that resetting it is impossible. I understand that you want to effectively camouflage it, but since it's sub-kernel from what I understand, I'm not sure how you'd change that. You'd basically need to completely reprogram that part of the mainboard to just "print" "knox 0x0" instead of checking and displaying an actual result, but there's no telling what else that would affect. If the computer requires the check as a part of the POST (or whatever Samsung's analog is) and gets a null as a result of the tampering, it may just brick. If it sounds like I'm talking out of my ass, I probably am.
i think it's possible to recup the download mode part for hide knox flag but don't idea for this i search a solution for that
From what I know you CAN hide your Knox counter to 0x0 systemwise but in download mode there will be 0x1 for ever. That's because Knox is written on an efuse which just breaks when you trigger the counter.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think there is no way back.
i thinks if triangle away can rewrite the flash counter it can rewrite the knox counter

Once knox it trip, it does physical damage to motherboard to change bit to 1.
The only way to fix is to replace motherboard in phone

What i was able to see on that venus342 app, it is just a process that hides the flag via software. If you go into download mode, it will still show 0x1.
He is just monetizing free software solutions.
I'm the developer of the KNOX Reset 0x0(0) app. Just a clarification, the app works as intended and is thoroughly tested. The app is unable to tamper with the efuse so it just masks the download mode string and changes it to display 0x0(0) regardless of the actual value. It is a software based spoof.
Also, to the guy who says that I'm monetizing free software solutions, note that I'm not forcing you to buy the app. We went through multiple all nighters, we worked really hard for this. If you need something like this, you can buy it. Please be reminded that you are not being forced to buy the app. Also, we offer instant refunds incase the user is unsatisfied.
Thank you.
Contact me directly for further questions as I'm inactive on Xda.

HI guys,
Something came to my mind and wanted to share it with you...
its how to protect my device after being stollen?
I know there are plenty of apps to find the device( through gps remote activation), to erase the contents and release alerts through different ways.
BUT WHAT IF
somebody had stolen your phone , pull out the battery, then boot it into download mode (3 buttons combination that every one knows), and finally flashed it with any rom by using ODIN ???????
the question here;
IS THERE ANY WAY TO PASSWORD PROTECT THE ACCESS TO BOTH RECOVERY &/OR DOWNLOAD MODES IN THE DEVICE, SO IT CAN BE USELESS FOR THE THEIF ???
i hope u understand my worry here
cheers
Just call your carrier and report it stolen so the IMEI gets blacklisted, a useless toy to most thieves (unless they are smart enough to change the IMEI but most aren't).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMEI
PS: Please, the is really no need for huge fonts and colors, most of us can see just fine.

As said before already exist many apps useful for retrieve our device if stolen, but all these apps need the GPS turned on.
What if if it's tuned off? Does exist an app that can turn on GPS in a remote way? (by sms for instance)

Hello,
How do I disable the camera shutter sound on my Galaxy S5?
I don't want to root my S5.
I live in the Netherlands and I don't have the option to disable the shutter sound in camera settings.
What should I do?
Installing firmware from other countries that does have that option?
You have to set your phone to silent or vibrate mode to silence the shutter sound.

Yeah, I don't know why he posted that, it is pretty common knowledge that that does not solve your problem. Here in the Netherlands law dictates that cameras need to make a sound when you take a picture. The only way to disable the sounds is to root the phone and delete/rename the sounds or (after rooting) use any tool that can disable the sounds you need to be disabled.

Try this, it should work without rooting. Google "enforced stream silencer". Install the app.
Before you can use it, you need to let your phone install apps from sources other than Google Play. Here’s how you do that:
Step 1: Click the MENU button
Step 2: Go to SETTINGS
Step 3: Click on APPLICATIONS
Step 4: Make sure that “UNKNOWN SOURCES” is checked
Step 5: Read the warning message and click OK

What is common knowledge is that it works for countries that doesn't have any law about camera sound and what isn't common knowledge is your country's law. Your country's law is your country's, not ours. It would have helped if the OP mentioned that shutter sound is a law in their country. That's the reason why the sound is pre-configured and cannot be turned off in their phones, the telco can be sued if they go against the law.
Here's the proof that the shutter sound goes off under silent and vibrate mode.

Try the different options here, your last resort could be installing firmware from other countries but it's tricky since S5 has too many firmwares for different countries.

If this was known to you, I am sure you already knew that this would be the problem. You were trolling to be able to tell people to tell if their country's law dictates this, though not everyone is aware of every law of their country.....
Next time just ask if this is the case and try to genuinely help in stead of making a sarcastic remark to let someone disable the sound of his phone.
Why don't you want to root the phone? Because of the warranty? If so, you can go ahead because Dutch law prevents Samsung from discarding warranty due to rooting and real life cases have shown that service centers still repair KNOX tripped phones under warranty without questions asked.

That's the problem. There are too many. The firmware of previous Galaxy Ss have firmware that work with many countries, you can see the CSC list. But S5 has very limited CSC. For example, my S5 will only work with 5 counties, while my previous Galaxy S will work in more than 20 counties. If you plan on flashing other firmware, I suggest you read thoroughly. I cannot help you further with this.

Why are you so rude? You are the one trolling. FYI, not every Android user knows how to turn off the sound, that's why they are asking. Also, I've never personally seen an android that does not turn off the sound when silenced or vibrated. And like I told you, your law is your law, our law is ours. I don't need to research every law your country has, and I don't care either because I don't live there.
If you cannot help and don't want to help, just shut up. You're not the OP and I don't need to explain myself further to you. Your logic seems to be non-existent.

Another proof that your logic is non-existent. Go back to school and learn about nouns and pronouns, how to use interchangeable words as your subject, and how to write paragraphs using them. And oh, learn how to interpret titles too.
Hello hello,
I changed the DPI of the phone to 480 (not rooted, only with adb command), and now, I get this problem, sometimes the images are zoomed in or zoomed out.
For example (see the screenshots below), on the 9gag app, in the comments, every profile pic is zoomed out, and the rest of the block is colorized by the last pixel of the profile pic.
Another example (for the zoom in), is when I open an image with ES Explorer's Image Browser, it's zoomed in and I can't move across the picture, neither zoom out.
It's not on every program, for example with Gallery, Google Photos, or usual pictures (like going through Chrome or 9gag posts), everything is fine.
It's clearly the DPI matter, since when I go back to 560, everything goes back to normal.
Do you have an idea about this problem ?
Thanks a lot for your help!
https://goo.gl/photos/FsWySABAaYRTyw8JA
https://goo.gl/photos/BhSRTvEcSLM8dzUQA
EDIT: I see that you are not rooted. I don't think you can fix the DPI without root, because you need to edit the build.prop file in order to fix your issue. So to my knowledge, you have to root or change your DPI back to 560.
Download Kernel Aduitor and go to build.prop editor. Search for lcd_density and make sure that value also says 480. If it does, you may need to find a different DPI.
I had the same issue on DPI 500 but the solution above fixed it.
I recently had this problem and couldn't find a fix or details on it anywhere. What happens is that there are 2 methods of changing DPI, the non-root and the root method. The root method is more reliable as it modifies build.prop, and the non-root method causes problems with other apps and rendering. I solved it by resetting my build.prop file and going back to stock DPI.
Alright, so root it will be.
Huh, by rooting, I'll lose the warranty right? It may not be a good idea for me ...
Thanks for your answers!

The only way to root to my knowledge is by unlocking the bootloader, which does void your warranty. BUT, it doesn't void your warranty for a hardware defect. So if your battery randomly explodes, you would still be covered. Your software warranty is void. I think it's worth it because I've never had software issues with phones, only hardware issues with the Nexus 6.

So I bought a ZTE ZMAX PRO from ebay but the guy didn't mention he still had his google account linked. So when I boot up the phone I get welcomed by the FRP screen. Sorry it took so long to reply, and I'm sure you've already found an answer to this problem, but there is no method currently to bypass FRP. If the seller will not work with you on the issue, I would contact e-Bay and explain the situation. Worst case scenario, you should get a refund from eBay. Hopefully your issue is resolved by this time, or if not, that this helps to resolve it.
How much did you pay for it? I bought mine in metropcs store near me brand new for $122 after tax and everything. This is my fave phone by far. The VR experience in this phone is the awesomest. I would follow the advice of the other poster. I had been a victim of a lying seller too it was on amazon though. I can sell you my samsung on5 if you like? It is in working condition. VERY slightly used. With very slightly used case.
As many have probably already found out there is currently no known proceedure to bypass the FRP on the Zmax Pro If there is then it has not been posted anywhere on the web as of yet...I know this because I have one that is google FRP locked and have read every article and watched every video available and have tried every method out there for every zte phone and nothing works so for the guy or gal out there who does have a method for bypassing the Google FRP I would very much appreciate if you would share it with me I can be reached at [email protected] Please send me any info or links regaurding this issue that will allow me to open this phone ASAP Thanking whoever in advance...
If your phone is 'legit', then the legit way to bypass FRP is either call google, call ZTE and/or call where you bought your phone right? All you need is RECEIPT and they will help you solve your FRP.
I do know the 'pride' you feel though after bypassing FRP yourself. I felt that when I bypass FRP myself on my samsung galaxy ON5. Eventhough I already contacted Samsung and Google and they already gave me an RMA number.
Not worth the headache though. After I bypass FRP on my Samsung, I ditched it and bought Zmaxpro.
It made me not mess with brand new phones though. Guys it really is NOT worth the headache.
At the very least, if you want to mess with these new phones. Research FIRST, if there is an FRP bypass method for it, if not then, why give yourself a headache and an expensive paper weight really?

i also searched before hand and theres 2 methods, one using swyft keyboard the other using dictionary in google keyboard..
however, latest update makes those methods useless..
why post if youre not going to help? telling someone they shouldnt have bought it after the fact is irrelevant..
does anyone know what FTM mode is used for? or if theres any stock firmware images that can be flashed somehow to rollback the security updates?

Why go on an android forum and ask ppl why they want root in a rooting thread? lol if you dont need it or want it then dont comment as you are not helping anyone including yourself.

So far the 'contributions' I see from you is begging for FRP bypass for an 'offer up' phones. you might as well copy that FRP begging sentence of yours coz I am sure you will create another thread again on your next 'offer up' phones in the near future then you can paste your FRP begging sentence. There that's my brilliant contribution for you.
LOL, how am I a troll? I think you are. You are so arrogant and foolish.

and that's why I did not post it there coz I unlike you am not a beggar, LOL

i have many contributions lmao, why do you think im an RC?? because i contribute lol.
i am not a troll for asking questions and brain storming with others who have the same issues and questions to find solutions.
you on the other hand like to talk down to people as if theyre stupid because they have legit questions and might not have the same knowledge as you in certain areas.. why dont you help people?

Come on now, it's actually you that does that. I've seen so many posts of you doing exactly that. Oh thanks for pointing it out. Your contibutor status. I am new here and so far the only ones I see from you is the bolded quote.
I guess we agree to disagree. I unfortunately can't help with your FRP bypass coz I don't think I will put myself in that situation ever again. And that's the difference between you and me. I guess, good luck?
ok folks, i found a way on youtube on how to bypass the google lock but it needs to be done on each reboot until we can find a way to install apks.. its saying its not allowed
FRP bypass. Works.
There's a video on this page that shows you how to do it. The guy doesn't say anything in the video so you just have to pay close attention to everything he does and repeat it exactly. I've had a ZMAX PRO that was frp locked for over 2 months. I followed every step closely and now I'm finally able to use it. This really works. Email me at [email protected] and I'll send you the link. They won't let me post it here because I'm a new user.

There is another video that shows you how to bypass and remove the frp completely. I tried it and it worked perfectly. Email me and I'll send you the link. They won't let me post it here because I'm a new user.

Tried it works but a lengthy process..its very simple by skipping few steps.......this is what i did and unlocked like a charm...
1) Press two finger on the screen prompting the language option and start...it should open the accesiblity option..click on exit.
2) then try gestures in the screen with an inverted "U" .....it should open the recent app list...(it needs few attempts)
3) on the top of the screen type stock..it will show stock android ...launch it....
4) go to settings ...go down which needs two fingers to swipe down as the accessibility option are still open it...disable the talk back on the accessibility options.
5) go to settings ..apps..on the corner right up..click on system apps..then drag down ..go to lookup apps which needs to force stop and disable..
6) go to settings again go to security ..enable the unknown source option.
7) go to home screen back by recent app button or home screen (Home screen button some time might not work)and open chrome browser...search for test dpc apk...download and install the latest test dpc apk...
8) once installed open the apk ..select as individual owner .1st option then next..then click on add account this will redirect it to adding account which will prompt the google old ID again..
9) click on recent app option and go to settings again ..go backup & Reset ..erase everything...which should reset the phone..by restarting and the ID is gone...(make sure your battery is above 30% inorder to reset.
10) Once reset the phone is set as new device without an ID.
!!!!!!Bingo its done..!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats almost exactly what i did lol.. however in my experience if i did it without turning ADM off the test dpc did not work as intended, it would just reboot the device saying i wasnt admin and Id have to start the process over again

Agreed its your method and i have just worked on your method..without ADM and disabling the Accessibility by going to taptalk option. for me it didnt ask anything as i first disabled the lookup which should stop the Admin request.
All credit goes to you..

Good job guys . The old FRP trick might have been lengthy but boom you got it working. 2 thumbs up.
Does this work on z982
Could you send me that link please
Hey everyone. I am having a issue with my phone when trying to take a screenshot. It will not allow me to take a screenshot, saying "Prevented by security policy." I discovered this when trying to take a screencap inside the Playstation app, but the Playstation Store part of it. As I understand it, this is a restriction by the individual app. How can I bypass this? I already tried some overlay apps like "Touchshot," which the result is either when I open the PS Store, it force quits Touchshot, or it will take a picture but everything is black.
I am not rooted, and would hope to find a solution without rooting. I also saw solutions that involve hooking up the phone to a PC, which I also would like to try to avoid as well. Is this restriction exclusive to the S7/Samsung phones, or it this a universal Android problem? If not, which phones do not have this problem?
If I have to root the phone to do it, is there currently an S7 Edge root that does not trip Knox? Anything else I should know?
Thanks for any help you can give!

No workaround for this, rooted or otherwise, that I'm aware of.

Well there is a way to do it if you are rooted. But since I am not, I was trying to deal with it that way...
Is there even a root for the S7 without tripping Knox yet? If there was, I might root it.
Anyway, thanks for the reply!
