Linux or Remix image - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Nexus player that I am looking to reimage with Remix or a Linux image. Is it possible to use the Nexus player as a mini Linux PC? What would you advise? How do I reimage the Nexus player to be a mini Linux PC?

Using Seagate 1tb on Nexus 7

So I'm going on a long trip next weekend where I could potentially lose data from my phone (hot spot) so I purchased a 1tb Seagate Back Up Plus to use. Out of the box it isn't recognized by my Galaxy Nexus (Nexus 7 isn't rooted yet) via USB OTG and I have been trying every format/app in the book but it has yet to see it. Any suggestions?
Does your kernel support NTFS, exFAT, or just Fat32 ? Might need a new kernel to read bigger file systems.

OP mentioned that Nexus 7 is NOT rooted...
@OP.
firstly Nexus 7 is NOT galaxy Nexus...
2nd... to support that HDD 1TB
(just tried it with my Rooted Nexus 7, 1TB 3.0USB HDD, it works)
you need a rooted device with any Kernel that supports transfer via OTG
(Most Kernel support it)
Way I read the OP, he has a GNex and a Nexus 7

Well He used Round brackets for the Nexus 7...
Here in forums brackets are usually used to support the sentence before it...
K I have a rooted Nexus 7 now with a kernal that supports FAT32 etc. It will recognize my hard drive using stick mount. I use ES File Explorer to go and play an mp4 movie on it and the movie isnt showing up. Neither is the folder I created it's just empty.

Installing Bodhi/Arch linux to exernal USB stickt

I have a 32 GB Nexus 7, and have installed Multirom v7, modified recovery TWRP 2.4.1.0, kernel_kexec_42-2.zip and have a functioning Ubuntu 13.04/Android dual-boot setup.
The question: on a Nexus 7 with an external USB stick and Ubuntu 13.04 installed (on the stick), can you add Bodhi or Arch Linux (to the stick) rather than to internal storage? If so, what is the procedure?
This topic shows up in several posts in showthread.php?t=2011403 thread but I cannot find a clear answer.
Thank you.

[Q] Connecting N4 to get to internal storage on linux

I have such problem:
I've got password on my Windows 7 that I don't, so I have Linux Live on pendrive without su permissions... So there's my question:
If I root my N4 will I be able to connect it to Linux without installing needed packages or I need custom ROM?

[Q] Some bugs with firmware

Hi there!
Issue #1
I can't mount the NTFS hard drive to my Note 3. And with Paragon NTFS it not works too. But on my Note 2 it has been mounted perfectly and without any affects and bugs.
Issue #2
I can't install Linux with Complete Linux Installer. The kernel does't support the loop devices, but after flashing the LeanKernel this issue doesn't disappear! On my Note 2 I has been installed the Debian and Ubuntu without any issues.
