Do they make a flashable modem or baseband updates for the V20? On my galaxy s4 you could flash newer modems and it would help with poor cell signal. Just curious if this is possible with the V20 (I have a dirty Santa unlocked H910a running a us996 bootloader)
From what I have heard, the modems are tied to the bootloaders on 10p and later, and they require the most current ROM to avoid ARB issues. I have the 10j or 10k modem and it seems to be running fine with AOSP. Nobody seems to have flashed AOSP over the 10p/10q firmware which is understandable due to the fear of it not working and being stuck on that firmware.
I flashed AOKP on my H910a unlocked by dirty Santa but had to switch to Weta because it kept randomly giving me a blue death screen. But that "may" have been due to me adjusting the kernel processor speeds with the Device control app. Not 100% sure though..

I've made a 10h flashable modem for my us996 but it doesn't seem to update. This is the correct command right?
package_extract_file("modem.img", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modem");
Can anyone post a screenshot of the 10h us996 baseband info or at least a date on it?
download the modem.img from here and flash with TWRP

H918 stuff is setup so that if you cross flash firmware you brick (Other models can't cross flash H918 firmware either). H918 can ONLY run H918 firmware.

For any ROM 7.0/8.0/9.0, ect., stock or lineage? Does it make signal better?

Vs995, us996, ls997 rom bases i only get 3 signal bars. But in f800's base my signal is better, always full.
I played around with roms and lost all modem connectivity - phone thought it was in airplane mode when it wasnt.
Flashed the modem above and now voice and text work, but data only 3g no lte.
Any suggestions?

Seems like the only recovery is see in TWRP is for the edge or international versions of the model, so I'm having a hard time adding a recovery. Can anyone help??? I'd greatly appreciate it.
No...the phone just got root and the bootloader is really locked down. No one saw us getting root, so who knows what can happen.

IF we get anything it will most likely be safestrap. So no AOSP.
Use FlashFire!

Are there any Roms or Custom recoveries compatible with this specific model number? Doesn't seem like it.

FlashFire is the compatible recovery. There are two ROMs for the Verizon S7 Edge. http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/development I have personally verified that the PlayStore ROM posted for the Edge will work on the S7 flat.
I should mention that you need to be on the U firmware prior to flashing those ROMs. The ROM also installs the G935 engineering kernel, so you need to flash the G930 boot kernel with Odin afterwards. I can make a write-up later if there is any interest.
I can even modify his ROM with the correct build.prop and kernel for the G930V.
How's the stability and finctionality?
A guide would be awesome. How do I get it up and running lol.

Sounds interesting, don't know if the different firmware/kernel would run better on our Verizon variant.

If you intend to root it, then you still need to use the same engineering kernel. I will say that before I rooted the U-firmware, the phone was much smoother and faster in stock form than the stock Verizon firmware.

Not just the kernel alone. Flash the U firmware and you will be able to select any band, as long as the radio is in the phone for it.

Thanks. Is it the G930U or G935U firmware that's needed? I'm guessing the Edge U firmware is what you're speaking of.. is it a simple flash? I'm running PE1 rooted at the moment.
930u for flat 935u for edge. Just flash entire image over. Shouldn't need root

OK I just accessed service mode on the PE1 firmware.. no Band 12 or 17 option. I'll flash the 930U firmware and attempt again to see if there's a difference at all.
Also, is rooting the 930U firmware the same as the PE1 firmware process?
Sorry for hijacking this thread.

I flashed the G930U firmware and was able to receive Band 17 successfully. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction with the U firmware!
Did you flash the 930U firmware on a flat S7 or edge Verizon variant device. I have a rooted Verizon device and using it on T-Mobile.
Version 6.0.1 July patch.
Can you pm or reply here on how you managed thanks
G930v custom recovery pass dm verity
Can someone point me in the direction of a thread to install custom recovery on the Verizon varient S7? Say hypothetically I could pass the dm-verity check.
How would I go about implementing the pass to install a custom recovery.

Issue with your network coverage appeared before or after you flashed the provided aboot? You should know that we JUST made that work (literally less than two hours), you can't expect no issues.
You should probably wait till we have a working TWRP recovery so you'll be able to flash a dual sim rom, but if you're still willing to try you might as well provide more information

Then maybe flashing the modem from a stock LP h422 rom would solve that issue, since secure boot is disabled by the patched aboot it shouldn't be a problem
-I think-, actually I can't tell for sure if the modem.bin is all you need

You need to follow the procedure detailed by fobos in the general thread to found the aboot block but instead of looking for the aboot you should write down the modem and radio ones.
Once you did that get a h422 rom, google and download "WindowsLGFirmwareExtract", extract the DZ file, then extract the modem.bin from that DZ and flash the same way we did with aboot but with the modem block (and maybe the radio one but IDK how is called honestly, you have to figure out by yourself)

@mayankjet, did you still with problems with your device?
I have a brazilian dual-sim version (H442f). I only could get phone and 3G/4G coverage after adding this line to build.prop and rebooting the phone (additional_build_properties section, close to line 200):
Code:
#
# ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES
#
[COLOR="Red"][B]persist.radio.multisim.config=dsds[/B][/COLOR]
I copied this from the build.prop from the build.prop of lollipop version. By luck, it worked.
Don't try to use older versions of modem.img, since it can lead to muting the sounds (music). How do I know? Been there, done that

Question to the devs.
I was wondering if there was any way to flash the ZV8 firmware. I know that this ZVF has higher Anti Roll Back version. ARB is implemented on the bootloader of the firmware ZVF. So if I only flash (I know this is silly but want to know) the ZV8 firmware's system.img and boot through QIFL tool will the phone get bricked??

Which partitions need to be flashed using a Nougat KDZ to restore fingerprint functionality? I've been trying to find out which partitions in addition to the modem are tied to the fingerprint scanner but to no avail. Most solutions recommend a complete reflash but I'm hoping to use that as a last resort.

I'm currently using a H990DS on Nougat (downgraded from Oreo); the Oreo bootstack that remains breaks fingerprint functionality on Nougat.

You mean a firmware mismatch
Yeah you'll have to flash a full kdz to fix it

Honestly, I have tried to shortcut this process on my H990 and the best most assured way of getting this to work, was to flash the full KDZ, reroot and flash another ROM.
Anyone updated their's yet and are there any changes worth noting?

Probably be a good idea to hold off updating on this, especially if you cross-flashed just to make sure it doesn't break anything for the ATT version.

So i went ahead and updated using upgrade in LGUP and so far so good.
I cross flashed AWM oreo with ULM oreo using the LGUP 1.14 from thread cross flashed AWM Oreo with Korean Oreo. Then I refurbished the AWN with the latest ULM Pie. So far no problem.

How did you flash this firmware? I am on V350N20c_00_KT_KR_OP_0405.kdz and LGUP refused to cross flash this firmware. It failed at 5%.
What error message are you getting? Are you using the correct version of the LG UP? May be do an incremental upgrade (install previous ULM version then the newest) instead of jumping directly from KR version. Also, your download could be corrupt, may be download again. Be careful though, there are a few mentions of ppl bricking their phones due to experimenting around.
Edit: In my case, it was my spare AT&T V35 on AT&T stock 8.0 and i directly flashed the new 20E ULM version using refurbish option.
