The Take-Call/Answer button appears to haveseveral functions:
It switches to the phone app (Good)
It answers an incoming call (good as prevents having to use the slide)
It dials the last number in the Calls list display (bad)
I keep finding that I double-press the button by mistake and end up dialling someone without intending to do so.
Is there any registry hack that can eliminate this last function. I have tried using Mobile Magic to assign the key to "switch to phone app" but then I can't use it to answer an incoming call which is a bit of a pain.
Or do I need to find an alternative dialler?
personally I find that disabling the green button from answering calls is a good thing - it means that you don't accidentally press it when taking it out of your pocket for example! you could try AE Button Plus and set long press of the green button to "press green button" and short press to "launch program" -> "phone" that way if you accidentally double-pressed the green button it wouldn't call the person, but would still load the phone dialer and could still be used to answer calls, just holding buttn instead of pressing...
Closest solution I can think of...
Sounded promising - thank you. Unfortunately I can't get a long keypress to generate an "green button press". I have decativated the usual long-keypress action but still no joy.
I even tried implementing a "double keypress" for answer but it only works sporadically.
Slider for Calling?

* It dials the last number in the Calls list display (bad)

after my touch hd didn't make an international phone call of several minutes today from my pocket, I didn't realize how right were your words.
So, I unbinded the Green Phone Button with AEB Plus and I reassign "Key 1 (Press)" to act as Green Phone Button. From now only pressing for a while the talk/send button will actually call the dialer.
However, the most gentle touch on a contact in the default dialer will make a call... which most of the times really annoys. What would be really cool and solve many problems is to use a slider for making the phone call (not only for answering). I searched conscientiously in the forum and I found no solution.
An alternative solution would be to use other contact manager, like Yota Contacts, for example. But, having a slider for making a call would be so cool
As in topic...is it possible to start memo recording simply by using buttons of original headset or other bluetooth headset...I love recording some of my thoughts for further reviewing and it would be great to just press the button and start talking...it's really annoying that I have to take my hd2 out of my pocket, run voice recording app and press recording...
any ideas on how to make it work?
(sorry for my bad english, it's not my native tongue)
Have you tried setting the button 1 (hold) to recorder or/and the long_send.lnk method (copy and rename the recorder shortcut in the Windows folder) ?
Is it possible to disable the ignore call feature when you press the top unlock button or assign it to a different button?
The "Mute Ring" soft button on the incoming call screen was not working on my HD2.
It turned out to be that I was using PocketShield and had the "Block Hardware keys" enabled on the "Incoming Call" section of the "Phone" tab. Disabling this feature allowed the "Mute Ring" button to work.
Just though to mention this if anyone else is having this problem and are also using PocketShield.
It is because the Mute command on the HTC dialer is tied to a hardkey press event (volume key, it shouldn't but it is). So if you tell PS to block volume keys on incoming call those events will be blocked, the HTC Mute button will not make any effect.

So there is no way to block the "Send" button from answering a call AND allow the "Mute" button to work?
Sure, at PocketShield Settings > Phone > Block hardware keys > +
any update?
Hi.
I have T-Mobile version and looks like "Back" sofy key does not work at all on call screen. It work before and after call but it unresponsive during the call. This is very annoying when a new call comes in while the navigation and it is impossible to press the back button to return. Does anybody know how to fix it?
Dmitry
Could anybody test to confirm the issue? Just open any app, ask somebody to call you and then answer (it will open ON CALL screen). Now try to press BACK soft key to return to previous app.
Thanks
