Hi all!
I'm having a really annoying problem. At night in a dark room when I try to use the Iris scanner the screen brightness increases. This effectively blinds me so I have to to use the fingerprint scanner instead
Any clues how to use fix this?

I don't think this is a bug I think this is normal so it give your eyes some light for it to scan with
It's an infra red scanner. Doesn't need light

does no one else have this issue?
Same issue with me. It's annoying but doesn't bother me that much. I just use the fp sensor instead.
Exact same issue, so annoying. Especially in the morning when I just woke up.

I noticed a weird light being emitted from proximity sensor when I entered the stock Samsung messaging app. It looks like it could be an infrared light coming from the sensor, but it's faintly visible to the naked eye. I thought I would take a video of it to show what I'm talking about. It's more apparent in the video than what you actually see. You can see it yourself in a dark room.
Has this been addressed? Does anybody know why this is happening?
isnt it looking to see if you move the phone to your ear in the messaging app so it can do the call feature?
I noticed this on mine last night. It's not like that right now though
I have the Motorola Atrix and when I use the proximity sensor, it does the same thing, glows a very very dim red, only visible in a dark room. Guessing that's how that sensor works in a generic way.

You have the eye tracking on? I just assumed it was that.
SwiftKeyed on my Sprint Galaxy SIII...
Mine does the same thing. It's for the direct call feature for texting. If you turn direct call off in your motion settings you won't see it anymore.

Doh... I feel silly for posting this now... Well, at least we have some sort of visual proof of it?
Haha no worries dude. Really easy to over look the little things! I was curious when I first saw it on mine as well.

I don't think mine's ever done this before and I've enabled smart stay before.
i have that as well...noticed it a few days ago..didn't think much of it
It's direct call for texting. Really it's anything that uses the proximity sensor. Smart stay uses the front facing camera.

Anyone know how to disable the feature that turns your screen off when you touch or cover the top left hand corner right above the display... It's like a proximity sensor or something and it bugs me because if I reach for the pull down bar my screen turns off and I have to re fingerprint and it slows what I'm trying to do down.. Is there any fix?
All I see is the display setting "keep screen turned off". I'm not sure if it'll work but worth a try.
Doesn't happen on my phone unless there is an active phone call.

Thought it was just me. Only happens when charging.

I've noticed the AOD goes with how the room is...so if it's dark it's going to look really dark. I put my phone in a my drawer and the screen went completely dark. AOD only works when there's light. In the dark it's really dim.

Is anyone experiencing issues what's Smart Stay not working?

It doesn't work for me at all. It worked very well on my old GS3, but even sitting in the exact same place, under the same lighting conditions, it doesn't work, ever, on the S7E.
Hey guys,
I recieved the BHP6 update two days Go. Since the update the Always on Display and nightwatch are flickering , espacially in low light.
Anyone else having this problem? Could it be a hardware problem?

Hello,
I have noticed flickering of the always on screen, but prior to the update and just when it is really really bright outside (on a sunny day) so the brigthness goes up but the clock flickered a little bit. I do not know if that is normal or not ....

For me it's the opposit. I can only see the flickering in a dark enviroment, when the brightness is on a low level.

so did anyone find a solution yet?
I did a factory reset a few days ago. Problem still there.
Maybe the September update will fix the bug.

when swapping batteries the first finger print scanning I try doesnt work. I have to do the knock code.
anybody know why?
Safety feature. Default behavior and unmodifiable.
This happens when you: turn off the phone and turn it back on or restart the phone. This isn't something you can change.

Correct. All phones with fingerprint readers are like this
