If I root my Nexus 10, will I still be able to download OTA Android upates? Will I loose root access by updating? I'm on stock Android 4.2.2, unrooted right now.
Should be able to. Just don't download/install a custom recovery mode. I'm on the stock 4.2.2 rooted.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
Yes you will still get OTA and YES you will lose root. You can back up the root binary and restore it very easily after an OTA via OTA Root Keeper. You can get that here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper&hl=en

Hi! One way is to use custom recovery to root your Galaxy J5. To root with custom recovery you will need a computer running Windows OS (didn't work with Linux distros using Wine) and download Odin from samsungodin.com. Then you will need a TWRP-recovery, the link is here:
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/j53gxx/twrp-3.1.1-1-j53gxx.img.tar.html
In Odin, click on the AP button and select your downloaded recovery file, boot your phone to download mode (Pwr+VolumeDown+Home), connect your phone with computer and start the installation process. It will usually take less than five seconds.
Once you installed the recovery, you will be able to easily root your phone. I recommend SuperSU as your SuperUser app. The link to official SuperSU is below:
https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip
Boot into recovery (Pwr+VolumeUp+Home) and install SuperSU and that's it, your phone should now be rooted. If you consider any problems, feel free to ask for more help!
Regards,
Patrik.

If you have lollipop then you can root with kingo root and if you have flashed poland stock ROM you can flash supersu zip for root
Edit:- if you want to install stock 5.0 you can use lg flash tool it does not require root access

Hi,
If I took your question literally I would answer: Yes, you can but under condition that you already have a custom recovery installed before. Of course, in order to achieve it, you should have had your phone connected to PC before in order to install the recovery.
But I assume it is not the case because you are on a stock recovery, aren't you?
If yes, then unfortunately I haven't heard about any methods which would grant root on SM-G900F with android 6.0.1 (I assume you are on one of the latest firmware) without connecting to PC at all.
