QFIL Help - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

The b32 update on the zteusa site is in a qfil format. Mifash will not work. Is it possible to get some help on the procedure, file selection etc.
Thanks in advance

The qfil package does not work. I've tried. But there is an "update.zip" inside that is an SD card package.

Twrp problem

anyone got an idea why my twrp file got all messed up after downloading it from the official site?? after putting it on my desktop the .img disappears and then i cant flash it in fastboot. the "file" is a burning disc file... thanks in advance for answers
Sounds like your PC is simply associating .IMG with a burning software. If you are concerned about the integrity of the file, run a hash check on it and compare to what is available from the TWRP website.

P8 Lite bricked, need a solution

Hi,
I have a problem with my P8 lite I bought today from some guy. It's stuck on boot logo, I tried wipe cache, factory reset, nothing helps. Tried fastboot, but my phone is locked in a nice green color. Can't unlock it since I don't know any numbers (IMEI, serial, firmware, etc), neither do I have the original package, so basically I'm stuck there. Tried the 3 button method with a 4Gb SD card and a "dload" folder on it with an "UPDATE.APP", still nothing, at 5% it says "Software update failed! Get help from ..... ". Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I watched some youtube videos and saw some guy putting the "dload" folder in the internal memory but since the phone is bricked I can't access it. Maybe that's the issue? Or do I have to use a card adapter instead of my old android phone for data transfers? Pardon my English, I'm more of a speaker than a writer. Any help will be appreciated.
Update: tried software b895(vodafone), now it said "incompatibility with current version" instead of "get help". Am I getting any closer?

Tried it too, doesn't work. Gives me the same error. And "google it" isn't an answer, I wouldn't be here, thanks.

I tried UPDATE.APP, because if I get it right, UPDATE.ZIP is only flashable through TWRP, is that correct? I'm doing everything with the 3 button method, anything I try just fails. And upload to SD takes so long that I'm starting to lose patience... Maybe there's some custom ROM that can be flashed through UPDATE.APP? Maybe it's possible to make (convert) one? I'm new to this phone and I swear, this has got to be the most annoying phone ever... I've never encountered such problems with Samsung or Sony phones. Thank you for trying to help because I don't have a single clue of what is going on, since it just says "get help".... Yea, I'm trying to. What about the Vodafone firmwares, why is it telling me that the version is incompatible with my current software? Does it mean that I have to find another version of Vodafone firmware or that I have to use something other than that?

Wait!
The update.zip can be flash with the 3 keys to, only need to be in internal or external memory. Only need to delete the dload folder.
Try rollback update.zip, you need it to unlock cust.
Tell me if you made it.

Could you explain more thoroughly please? I tried changing UPDATE.APP extension to UPDATE.ZIP just by renaming the file, put it on a blank SD card (deleted dload folder), but no luck... I read somewhere that this phone could have had a custom firmware installed and that's why it won't budge? Is it possible for example to install TWRP or any custom firmware like AICP and etc. with this method? Then I wouldn't have any issues.

Don't change the extension... Don't extract the update.app from the zip, just let the zip like it is and paste it into internal or external storage, is a flashebel zip and works like update.app.

The contents of the zip file are usually a dload folder with some pdf and word files and something like that, so, I need to have just the update.app in the zip file?

Hi, no, it just has a dload folder and a pdf file for instructions. Do I need to rename the zip to update.zip with all of its inside contents or do I just put the update.app file in an archive?

Hi, I've tried alot of them, just googling and downloading everything that says "ALE-L21", eventhough I'm not even 100% sure about that. For example this one:
Huawei P8 Lite Rollback Package (ALE-L21 C900B500, Android 6.0 to Android 5.0
I don't think this is the right one, Update.app doesn't work, these zips don't work, persona78 mentioned something about META-INF folder, but I can't find a rollback package like that anywhere, I saw some firmwares with that folder inside but they don't seem to work. If I knew exactly what I need to find and do then there would be no problem at all.

You P8 Lite is dual-sim, correct?
If so, try this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73230358&postcount=2
Put it on a folder inside the SD card:
1- Try creating a "dload" folder with just the update.app AND the update.zip
2- If you have space or with doesn't work, delete the previous and just put the update.app AND the update.zip in the SD CARD main folder.
Let us see if you have luck

I never saw someone uploading a zip64 file as a rom, are you sure about what you're doing? ?
Anyway, try extracting it onto the pc hdd/ssd making sure you have enough space to do it, then put the rom on the phone's sd card via usb cable, that should do it :good:
Btw, what rom are you trying to flash?

I'm trying to flash nougat firmware, but cannot to extract the firmware, always stuck on 90% (can't read I/O device error). When I see the firmware info on winrar it seem that use zip64 archive format (zip64 library), because the content after extracting is 3gb, I think that's the problem while extracting. My laptop is low specification, also I'm trying to transfer to another pc using usb flashdisk but I got stuck while transferring, transfer failed. I never seem like this before , cannot to transfer unable to extract, wtf? Firmware corrupted? I think not.

Since I never had to deal with zip64 format (I always ended up downloading only zip file ready to flash), can you share the link where you downloaded the firmware? Let's see if it's a hardware problem or a bad file

The firmware is downloaded from samsung-firmware.org, region asia INS. I was download marshmallow firmware too and flash it to my phone but I don't see any problem while extracting the firmware, I'm using another pc with operating system window 10 64bit. I think the problem is my pc can't handle/read zip64 format even using winrar or 7-zip with latest version. The dialogue show error mssg "problem read file, I/O device error".

On the site you linked, every firmware is in zip format, so ready to flash. I can't find any zip64 archive.
If you still face the problem, try looking up the firmware on sammobile

I'm not sure is the firmware in zip format or zip64 format, but while repairing the firmware it detect as zip64, don't know. Maybe the firmware is brocken, damage, cause trying to extract many times. Anyway thanks for help.
Maybe the file is corrupt.Changing compression method won't help. You can't repair an archive.Just download it again.

Need B108 for Honor 3C

Seems like my Honor 3C H30-U10 is soft bricked and I am trying to get it back to life. I download Stock ROM for it with version B108 but it's in SP Flash Tool format. My phone isn't recognised by my laptop even though I have VCOM drivers installed.
I can install ROM to my phone if it's inside SD Card.
I need this file:
V100R001C900B108
Which is having dload and dload2 folders and having UPDATE.APP.
The file I am looking was previously hosted on Tiawan website but now removed:
www[dot]huaweidevice[dot]com[dot]tw/upload/file/20140507095345_27.rar
(mentioned here: myhonor3c[dot]blogspot[dot]com/2014/07/restore-bricked-honor-3c_10.html )
Please upload it if you have it in your local drive.

Downgrade Huawei P Smart (FIG-LX1)

Can someone help me downgrade my Huawei to it's stock version? I'm doing it to unlock the bootloader and flash roms safely or at least in a safe way....
Do you have sd card? If you have download Firmware which suitable for your phone in https://androidhost.ru . Search FIG-LX1 and find your oldest firmware with region code.
- Format your sd card to Ex-fat create a folder and name it "dload"
- In rar archive Software/dload/update_sd.zip file unrar somewhere and is there UPDATE.APP file in update_sd.zip.
- Put UPDATE.APP to your dload folder.
- Shutdown your phone . Press VolUp+VolDown+Power button
installation start automatically and at the end your phone downgraded perfectly . You can use dc-unlocker and it will read your bootloader unlock code

Didint work for me, tried few SD cards, gazilion different firmwares and 2 bricked phones to revive. Always getting "Update failed" error.
I've succesfully unbricked my phones this way:
1)Download your firmware (region code must match! mine was C432)
2)Unpack your firmware, you'll get new folder with your firmware inside (eg. Huawei P Smart FIG-LX1 Fig-L31 hw eu HLRCF Figo-L31 9.1.0.115(C432E5R1P3T8) Firmware 9.0.0 r3 EMUI9.0.1 05014XMW [androidhost.ru])
3)Format Your SD card (i've used NTFS file system)
4)Open your firmware directory, go to \Software and there you'll find a "dload" folder
5)Copy dload folder to your SD card
6)insert card to your phone, push vol+ vol- and pwrbtn for 10 seconds, relase buttons when huawei logo appears.
Your update will process automatically, it will take a few minutes.
Voila!
Hi, I know that this is an old thread. But I tried t34v2's method, and it kind of worked, it updated the recovery(it looks completely different) but it still will not boot. Is there anything else I could try ?
Thank you for any help.
