Hello guys,
I have a LG D802 unlocked and noticed that it wont transmit a voice during the calls or record anymore, so official LG service changed my flex and voice issue has solved but!
I recognized following things afterwards;
-original usb cable recognized as usb charging, 200-300 mA while using original cable and charger. (8 hours took to full change )
-any windows or linux system can not recognize my beloved g2 anymore, even in com ports.. I tired everything in software base..
-interestingly I can enter download mode while my g2 connected to AC charger, so it is strange.
What do you think guys, LG service member thinks there might be issue in processor but it is ridiculous
Tell me your opinions please ?
(I have the "replaced flex" but I havent tried to replace with new one)
Looks like they have damaged your motherboard. I've tried replacing the Flex on my LG G2 twice, and this problem wasn't solved. Slow charging+Can't connect to any pc. My phone is stuck on jellybean forever as there's no way I can root and install TWRP without access to a laptop. Good luck.
I brought my G2 D802 in the exact same state by replacing the battery myself. I think I broke something while trying to remove the old one, wrapped in those flex bands. Looks like that cable is easily damageable by design.
Not everything is lost in my case, as I had TWRP installed prior to this mishap, but the slow charge is a real pain.
Sorry I can't really help with an advice. This phone will die as it is, not worth paying for a repair.

Tried on several PC's so it's obviously a phone issue, went through all 3 Port Settings in the MFG app, no change though, i can only charge the phone and that's that, any other ideas ?
Already tried factory reset too
No one ? I just realized that i can't even copy my music anymore lol..if only i had wireless sync setup before this happened..
Even deploy doesnt work right? Maybe you have messed up something in registry...do you remember recent changes?
Sent from my LG-E900 using Board Express
I don't remember changing anything besides the usb settings, and once i think i tried to unlock it or even succeeded but this shouldn't interfere with the device afaik
I'm looking at a semi-bricked phone now
I didn't try to deploy but since the phone is not recognized anymore i don't know if there is any chance or ?
Just an update..yesterday while i was cleaning up my desk i found the original LG cable that came with the phone...i plug it in and what do you know...the phone is recognized again...there are no words...
What kind off cable was the ``other`` one ?
I think i tried with 3 other different cables, one came from a Blakberry, one from HTC Desire and one i don't remember from
I have had both the Samsung Focus and now the LG, while I haven't had this issue with my LG, I did with the Samsung.
Same thing, tried every micro cable I had, and none of them worked, finally found the orginal cable and it worked. ... I know it's common on the Focus, but the first I've heard on the LG.
It's very frustrating, especially since i'm a "tech" person and couldn't find any solution to this, being forced to use the original cable makes no sense even now but i hope that at least someone else who will face this will find this thread useful.
so I bricked my verizon VS980 upon flashing a rom, not realizing how long it would actually take, getting impatient, and holding down power/vol-. the phone is stuck in a bootloop. i can get into download mode. i have tried these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
both of which became dead ends. i have tried reinstalling drivers, rebooting, different PCs, and different usb ports/cables. device manager shows this regardless of the phone being plugged in or not:

(unknown device is unrelated)
I'm pretty worried about my USB port being broken, although it would surprise me if that were the case.
it might help for someone to explain com ports to me; i was under the impression that for a PC to see a usb device plugged in via COM, it would have to be through a usb to serial adapter, which obviously isn't the case.
i think i'm still within my return period, but i'm probably not within the warranty limits.
been working on this quite awhile and i'd really hate to have to sell the thing.
thanks for any help!
Hello folks!
I've recently bought the oneplus 2 second hand but sadly it didn't came in the state it would be, so no charger, no charging cable, no box and only lots of filth in the usb type c charging port (Couldn't even plug in the cable so bad). But I was convinced that it wasn't stolen and I also tried to find it but it wasn't missing by anybody so yeah.
When I cleaned out the port and got it to work it literally just took ages and mtp wasn't working sadly.
I've done some research and people have said that the slow charging might have been caused by a faulty cable/charger head. I've replaced the cable and charger head by one from ugreen and it should be working fine. But the problem is that sometimes it's charging as it should normally but 99% of the time it's just charging slow.
Also data transfer is not working, even in fastboot it's not working. I had gotten it to work after downgrading the first time but then after a day it stopped working again. I've also replaced the usb flex cable but that ofcourse didn't changed anything sadly.
I am out of options as my search results only delivered such kinds of answers also unlocking and relocking the bootloader and enable usb debugging etc are also all not working.
I hope someone could help me out with this who might have also faced the same issues as an flashaholic this is ofcourse a pitty especially since fastboot isn't working and probably qualcomm's recovery mode also not since data transfer is totally not working.
For the one's who are helping me already thanks in advance :good: and have a nice day further

Well I recently have replaced my usb port and I doubled checked the flex cables so that shouldn't be the issue, also I inspected the motherboard but couldn't see any oxidations or damages further. so it stays a mystery for me sofar.
Having the same issues : Slow charging, no data transfer and no usb otg.
Can you please tell me how you manage to downgrade.
Thanx

If you want to attempt to downgrade you could download an older OOS firmware version and just flash it through the stock recovery as OOS supports downgrading in their recovery
But that probably won't solve the issue. I've done it and weird enough it worked for a slight moment so I could use fastboot but after that it didn't worked anymore.

The same problem for me, I am using Lineage Os
Hello guys, I have a LG G2 which the mainboard died on me. I've bought a used LG G2 with a broken display so I could use its mainboard, and after replacing the original one everything seemed to be working, however the phone won't fast charge, and won't be recognized by any PC. I've tried 4 different cables (LG, Samsung, Dell, ASUS), and several different wall chargers, and the results are always the same, slow charging+USB Device not recognized on windows. I've suspected that it could be related to the usb port on the phone, so I've replaced my old one with that of the phone I've bought for parts, but still had no luck. Can anybody shed some light on this situation?
The problem is that the new mainboard is currently on Android 4.2, and there's no OTA available to me, so I need to connect to the pc in order to update at least to kitkat (I would like to install LineageOS ideally, but at least getting the official kikat would be fine).
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,
Last sunday, I processed to the last upgrade of my LGv20 H990DS (Received 1st notification about availability about a week before)
Upgrade went fine and phone worked ok after it. Note: I was using it with official updates / I did not root the phone
Through on next morning, I found that I was having the LG logo then black screen then LG logo ans so on...
Won t be sure now if phone was unplugged or not overnight.
I read different threads here and some check videos but so far nothing as worked.
Would like to have an idea if it is still worst trying fixing.
Among the stuff, I tried:
Factory reset by holding the Volume down button and Power then releasing Power and pushing it back:
I access the menu but after confirming the reset I am back in a bootloop situation
I also tried to connect the phone in download mode and use LG Bridge as I saw in a video:
I can enter the download mode but phone does not get recognized and then go in bootloop again
I saw other post mentioning fastboot or XDZ but haven t seen in detail as look more steps/complicated.
Was thinking checking first if it was worth trying and if maybe my issue was due to something not fixable by myself (Hardware...)
Thanks in advance for the help!
I've got exactly the same problem. Could anyone help, please?
Hi
I will be still blocked with same issue.
Tried to bring it to a few shops, but they could not do anything.
LG is not common phone here (Malaysia) so most saying they are not familiar, don t have firmware or spare part.
I m taking back the phone tomorrow and was planning to try
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/restore-v20-to-100-stock-bricked-devices-t3524903
see if using dll and lgup will do better.
or this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/guide-lg-v20-to-life-t3827732
but i m not sure it will work since in my case it is not recognised and download mode doesn t stay on and phone goes back to bootloop?
One of the issue I thought was it might be due to usb connector, might the port is having issue as i used another cable as the lg one was not working anymore at some point?
If connecting phone, phone is charging but no connection can be done.
Was thinking trying to change the port but to do it here is not so easy as no spare part locally.
I don t have soldering tools here and going via a shop will cost a bit and long delay, before doing it would anyone know if it might solve the issue or I m going a wrong way and issue is not link to connector?
Thanks
