iam using sm-n910s with nemesis refined rom, but i have a problem with 3g network,because in cuba we have 1 o ly carrier and the 3g works only on 900mhz and my phone dosnt have this frecuency on 3g mode,but on 2g works perfectly,can i change that on my phone?
If your device doesn't support the cell signal band in your country then there is nothing you can do.

All phone features working perfectly except for 3G. Smart carrier people cannot help. What could be wrong. Vendor says 3g works on 2100 band. Confusing statement. What can be done? Connects to umts but when video call is pressed will not connect.
Which carrier are you on again? Smart Carrier? .. From what I know no carriers in the US support video calling .. Also, Cingular is the only GSM carrier in the US with 3G which runs on the 1900Mhz band ..
also .. what does your phone display while connected "G" or "U" ... what are your phone band settings .. can you also goto dslreports.com/mspeed and see what speeds are you getting ..
According to GSM world SMART (a Philippine operator) uses UMTS 2100, which your TyTN does definitely support.
Have you checked if your SIM card is 3G-enabled? Most 3G networks require special USIMs for 3G usage.
I just learned, that Cingular uses UMTS 850 and 1900 to be exact. According to the American HTC website the Cingular 8525 supports "Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA high speed wireless data network support (2100MHz and 850/1900 MHz), Quad-band GSM®/GPRS/EDGE worldphone".
Does anyone know if there is a special hardware version, that supports UMTS850 & 1900 or will my European TyTN work on those networks, too?
TyTN is tri-band UMTS .. 850/1900/2100 .. so it should work on these networks without any issues ...
And my bad .. didnt realize that you are trying to use the TyTN in Phillipines ..
You should also check, if the called party has a 3G signal, while you call him. Further make sure video calls are activated by your network operator.
3g problems in the philippines
Everything you guys mentioned in order(am in a 3g area calling a 3g enabled party with a 3g sim card). Even the tech staff behind Smart Communications cannot make it work. Displays U and u. But video call cannot push thru even if pic on front camera shows. There is 1 thin line( or command?) stopping it from connecting. My last option is to borrow my friend's unit and see if her unit's 3g works here then it's my device that's a problem. Thnks for the input. Keep it coming.

Hi. I don't know how they did it but Smart Communications did it! Apparently and ironically their 3g sim card is not compatible with the htc tytn but their regular sim is. Thanks all.

Hi everyone. After my first thread i have finally got everything on my tytn working: 3g, mms, internet, phone. The problem was on the settings. Smart and Globe, the primary carriers in the Philippines can both work on the phone if the settings are right.

yes there is 3g and hsdpa along with gsm and gprs and wap in the philippines. and yes you can buy globe prepaid 3g sim card.

i have choosen net work is GSM/WCDMA ( WCDMA preferred), untick use only 2G
full out APN, user name, password, but the symbol 3G not appear, just EDGE.

The first thing I'd try is to change the baseband to Argentina\Claro -- it works better than the stock Bravo baseband in my experiences. Any of the 850/1900 basebands will work, but the Argentina one works best (for me, in Arkansas).
Then you can try to use WCDMA only -- tha (should) make use of the 1900mhz radio and has faster speeds -- but you can get crappy coverage when you're far from towers. I don't think you'll ever see 3g in the status bar (I never have, always been H+ or similar, better than 3g btw).
Unless you're on some weird ass carrier, you shouldn't have to mess with APN settings.
I think its the baseband. I sometimes use a baseband with edge only; a baseband with 850mhz and anything other than 1900 -- helpful at the end of the month when you're near the limit of your 3g data usage...USA T-Mobile for me.
The Bravo only supports 850/1900 basebands even though all the websites say its a Quad Band device (like the Defy). That's why that T-Mobile baseband (850\1700\2100) is a neat little trick to save from hitting overage charges . Edge is only on 850 in my experience which is why I'm thinking baseband.

Hi people, i want buy a N900T in T-Mobile (used in eBay) to use this in Argentina but in my country don't have 3G signal in all sites. In my city don't have 3G but this have 2G bands. This model have quad band GSM? or only have 3G/4G?

3G band is working, calling and internet, but 2G is not, no signal ;/
I instail custom rom from n9005 [alexndr.n9005xxugng1] and custom kernel [aurora kernel r11].
Phone have 2g signal, is conecting to the carrier but i can't make a phone calls and sms, I dial a numer but noting hapend, no signal.
Any advice ?

hi please help me i m using Samsung galaxy j5 j500f duos i m from pakistan and using zong and ufone in that mobile.. its 4g supported and zong 4g is showing NO SERVICE or not registered on network i cant make a call or use sms service but when i turn mobile data on to use internet i got 4G LTE and can use internet without signals IMEI is ok ufone works only in GSM mode only and zong dont work in any mode i.e LTE/WCDMA/GSM.. without other sim zong dont work and it only works in GSM mode only when ufone is set to LTE/WCDMA/GSM... but in that case ufone show NO SERVICE i reset it hardware format and watched youtube also but ALL invain can anybody help me

Hi bro I am from Pakistan too so I research on it (couz I got 4g phone as well) I tried zong and didn't received signal so what I found is that these networks are on limited bands to work u need both phone and network to be same frequency supported to work 4g (and don't ask me how to do it couz I don't know either) try using warid (if possible) 4g it probably gonna work (not sure) or maybe you are not in 4g coverage area....

I bought a YD206 and installed russian rom.
It connects to H or H+ 3G network properly. Otherwise, the device does not connect to EDGE.(2g)
AsThe 2g network is complementary for 3g, the device is offline in the shades of 3g network.
Have anybody had same problem before?
I am using congstar, germany. It uses tmobile network. My contract has only 2g and 3g netzs.
The band is,

B1 (2100) UMTS
I though YD206 has all three band width, doesn't it?
Do I have to set-up some properties?
