Unstable wifi when using bluetooth - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have bug: when I'm using Bluetooth (connected to my miband 2) my wifi is randomly disconnecting. Is this normal? I'm on stock 7.0 eu phone.

It can be with some devices... BT and 2.4Ghz WiFi can interfere with each other since both run in the 2.4Ghz range. Change your router/AP's WiFi channel or connect at 5Ghz and the problem should go away.

That's what I thought since I had simmilar issuse with my tablet before. My router is 2,4Ghz only so maybe it's time to upgrade.

Just log into your router and set the WiFi channel to the highest number available (11 or 14 depending on region) and test... If it's not better try 1 or 6. Worth a shot.
Good luck.

Frequent disconnections on wifi

Hi guys, not sure if its been brought up before, but my nexus one frequently disconnects from my home wifi, I don't know the exact intervals but once in a while when I check my phone, it'd be disconnected and when i look at the wifi settings, it would say connection unsuccessful and i would have to manually reconnect it. Seems like a major hassle to me, shouldn't be my router either as my laptops and other devices have no such problem.
Some facts:
Router DIR-625 (set on G and N)
Interestingly, my router reports my nexus one on 802.11 N band.. which is curious, I thought it wasn't enabled yet?
The signal strength is about 4 - 5 bars (only seperated by one wall)
Whenever I click on reconnect it reconnects without any problems
Anyone have any idea what might be the problem here?
change your WiFi sleep policy to never sleep. and also the nexus has a WiFi bug. check that setting first though, cause its on by default which I don't know why.

Since 506 it´s enabled
............
I remember having issues with my connection..I upgraded the router software, e voila...
I had similar problems with a DIR-655. I turned off MAC address filtering and updated the firmware (I was 3 years and about 6 iterations behind) and I haven't had anymore problems.
Edit: BTW, The N1 had flawless connectivity on all my other Wi-Fi routers (work, friend's house, etc) which happened to be Linksys

wifi issues on N4 possible fix?

for those with wifi 'broken' try to change your router settings to WPA2 personal (TKIP+AES) that seems to work for me now,
other settings 'broke' the wifi
this might be just an issue with must me and my router
*spoke too soon: still broken, it only works certain times, mostly it just spins when i try to connecto to online
the wifi icon keeps flashing a black dot... that means the wifi is NOT working right? it should be just a solid blue bars?
on wifi advanced settings, WPS Pin Entry - what is this and do i need to enter that pin on my router?
still no luck with wifi on my network after flashing back to stock 4.2 from 4.2.1
same 'broken' wifi
might be this phone's wifi hardware is incompatible with wDDRT router?
Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) std
my other wifi devices work perfectly fine, so im really stumped
in phones advance wifi settings it has this WPS entry - what is this and is it somehow not allowing me full wifi?
i can view playstore,, it checks and loads my gMail but it won't connect to websites
it takes so long to download and install apps from playstore, i have to hit cancel, redownload, reinstall to get it working, etc. its not 'instant' like normal 20Mbps wifi should be
ran speedtest.net app and it wont connect to any servers
if anyone has clues to why my wifi is broken, please PM me thanks
it get a blue 3 to 4 bars on wifi signal but it keeps having this 'black' dot flashing in that wifi signal bar, (what is that?)
shows connected to my wifi at 72Mbps at good strength
I found my solution: in my router I unchecked the option WMM (Wi-Fi-multimedia)-settings (2.4GHz b/g/n). After I activated it, my data speeds increased enormously. Try it & report!

Public wifi and my work wifi working perfect with n4. So it definitely my routers wddrt firmware issues with n4... still gottta figure it

My n4 will not connect to any of the WPA2 AP's around here.
I have the opposite problem. I can connect to my WPA2 router at home just fine but cannot connect to the WEP wifi at work. Well, not reliably. I've gotten connected twice, but was unable to recreate the conditions.

I had speed problems with my 5GHz band at home. Connected, but couldn't get over 1Mbps on my 30+ connection. Connected to the 2.4Ghz band and I get significantly faster speeds. Haven't had problems connecting though.

I've noticed similar behavior, seems like my 5ghz signal strength is much weaker than my 2.4ghz signal according to my n4.
So this n4 is picky about. Certain WiFi networks.configs

Sometimes, my N4 loses wifi connection at work. It's inconsistent. My work wifi is open but MAC filtered.
There have been 3-4 times when I noticed that it lost wifi connection. I had to turn off wifi radio and back on to reconnect.
OTOH, connection to home DD-WRT wifi router is rock solid.
Set lease time for as long as possible, it normally this is 2 weeks..

Hello, I am also having problems with WIFI. I've tried a lot of things (change the router configuration, the cellular exchange kernel, etc ...) but I could not fix this problem. Can you give any more ideas? I've even thought about buying another router but can be giving the same problem.
I used my wife's phone as a router and it works normally, but when I connect directly to the router from home and he trasfere data only for a few moments and then transferring data, although still seem the symbol of wifi connected.
I found changing a setting on the Nexus 4 seems to have remedied most of my WiFi issues. Forcing the WiFi frequency band to 2.4GHz only instead of Auto appears to have done the trick for me.
In WiFi if you select Settings and Advanced under Wi-Fi frequency band there is an option to force 5GHz or 2.4GHz with the default on Auto.

Wifi issue on moto G4 Plus

Hi, I would like to ask You friends if anyone experiencing the issue described in that topic?
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G4-Moto-G4-Plus-Moto-G4/moto-g4-plus-slow-wifi-speed/td-p/3385956
I'm struggling with it for few days and I can't fix it :/
What router are you connecting to, what frequency (are you connecting via 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz)? What's the speed of your broadband link?
Might be worth scanning your area with Inssider or another Wi-Fi scanning program to determine if you have any Wi-Fi interference from other routers or devices in the vicinity.
My broadband is slow (5Mbit) but if issue appears the speed is decreased also over LAN. I also have high ping to my router (over 100ms).
I have not any interference with other networks.
After reboot a phone or switching on/off airplane mode resolves issue for a while. Ping to my router returns to normal value. (1-15ms)

That high ping and slowdown does appear to point to interference on the 2.4 Ghz frequency (if that's what you're broadcasting on). Do you see the slowdown regardless of where you are in relation to the router?
Do you have Bluetooth on, btw or have any Bluetooth accessories nearby? Bluetooth does broadcast on similar frequencies to Wi-Fi and might be interfering, do you still get the slowdown if Bluetooth is disabled? Cordless phones and microwaves will also interfere (but not show up on a Wi-Fi network scanner).
My ping to the router (a TP-Link W8960N) over 2.4 Ghz, channel 2, is 39 ms but I get the full speeds of 4.5 Mbps expected; we had to move to channel 2 as it was the least occupied. I am about 5-10 metres away and this is through 2 brick walls.
Yes, I have bluetooth off.
I also noticed that when this problem occurs, bluetooth can't find any devices.

What firmware are you on? Does a reboot, a cache wipe or a factory reset (note, a factory reset will wipe your personal data) solve anything?
Also, are any of your other devices/computers affected by this? Perhaps reboot the router and see if this issue persists?
I did not tried only factory reset, but others users in linked topic wrote that they tried it and.. nothing ;(
I tested Wifi also by Moto G2 and it works very well.

all 5GHz wifi will disappear sometime

Hi there,
i found that all 5GHz wifi will disappear sometime and only 2.4GHz wifi were left even the signal is very good.
Not only mine but also my neighbor's 5GHz wifi was gone too so i can confirm that there is no problem with my router.
but it can be solved by restarting WIFI in setting menu.
is that a hardware bug or software bug? have anyone facing this problem too? :crying:
ps: using stock rom 4.5.5 & stock kernel
I've too, but disappear and restore itself.

I have the exact same issue, I have 2 separate routers, one upstairs and one downstairs. The one upstairs is a 2.4ghz router and the one downstairs a dual-band router with separate SSID's for the bands, sometimes when I come downstairs I can only see the 2.4ghz SSID not the 5ghz one.

but the 5ghz one shown when u restart wifi, right?
Have you guys already contacted OnePlus about this? I have a few days ago, and I'm currently still in touch with them to find out why this happens.
I for example have the problem, that sometimes the data throughput using 5 GHz networks is absolutely zero, no data is transferred at all (tested with iperf3) and then sometimes it resumes but other times I have to disable WiFi entirely (disable background scan to do that) and reconnect and only then it would start communicating again.
BTW: I'll include a link to this thread on my ticket with them, so that they can see I'm not alone with WiFi issues on the 5 GHz band.

In my opinion 5ghz routers are cheap enough to do some update
This maybe some config issue but i am not networking expert.
For example In lg g6 case using 2,4 means that wifi reaches only 50mb/s but on 5ghz its 100mb/s because config is not set correctly.

And also i am not sure it's authentication.
Coz i connect it with my brother htc 10 oreo, and it's using SBC codec!
You might be able to change the channel on your router and find one that doesn't interfere with bluetooth as much. If you google "bluetooth wifi interference" you should find some things to try.
