Possible Joying Marshmallow GPS Band-Aid fix FOUND!!! - Android Head-Units

So I've been doing a little bit of playing around and I think I've found a temporary fix for anyone who has a Joying unit with the GPS borked after upgrading to Marshmallow by outputting your phone's GPS to the unit over Bluetooth. This may or may not require root, but I'm not sure. I'll update this as needed if folks are interested. Right now this is very preliminary.
What you need on the radio side:
An app that will allow you to connect to an external Bluetooth GPS. Personally I am using this one for now which is free, but I would guess any app should be easy enought to get working. You'll need to dig into developer options and switch to this app under Mock Locations Provider, which is where I'm not sure if you'll need your Joying unit rooted. I was able to do this in the AOSP Settings app, not sure if the Joying one will work.
What you need on the phone side:
An app that will allow you to output your phone's GPS to another Bluetooth device. I'm using this one. It has a 10-minute limited free version so you can see if it's working for you, and if so it's there to purchase.
Things I'm not sure about:
As stated, this may or may not require root and the AOSP Settings app to enable the Mock Locations Provider under Developer Options, hopefully someone can update me. Automation is another big question mark here. I have a No-Kill mod installed on my Joying unit, so this may be set-and-forget on the radio side since the app will auto-poll and reconnect, but I haven't had time to test this enough to be sure. Not sure if you can leave Bluetooth GPS Output running on the phone for automation purposes, and if you can, what the battery hit on your phone will be. This setup "should" also allow you to use an external bluetooth GPS receiver with the radio so you don't have to use the phone, but I don't have one to test with.

Heres how I do it. Im running dexter 1.3 mod. You have to install the bluetooth fix. Put you a7 in discovery mode and you gps into discovery mode . Scan for your gps once found pair it with the a7. It should come up and say paired but not connected and thats normal.
Download bluetooth pgs provider from the market and run it. It will ask you to choose your gps. Tap on your gps when you see it. after that you should see a bar that says start tap on that. Now you should see stats at the bottom of the screen from your gps. Now you can run your gps program and it should work mine does. I use copilot live. I also use it on my phone. After I install it on the a7 I had to copy my copilot directory from my phone to the a7 to make it work. There are other bluetooth programs on the market that do the same as bluetooth provider If that doesnt work you could try some of the others
hope that helps

I am hitting a dead end. I have tried both Dex's 1.3 mod with the bluetooth fix as well as the 1.4 mod with the same results. In either case, when I go to the market, the Blue GPS app as well as many others don't show up in searches when I try to get them (for example, when I search for meowsbox I only see 3 apps including the "Bluetooth GPS License" but not the GPS app itself). I can see them in my PC browser but not via the market App and in my browser they say they are not compatible with my device. I was able to download Blue GPS manually from source_forge by accepting non-certified apps but that didn't work either (connection errors).
For reference, I see the following in "About Device":
Model Number: A7-040; Firmware Version: 2.2; Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1; Serial number 2496430001227; Build Number: Dexter's ElocityA7 Mod v1.41; EC version: 0.14;
Also, when I hit the market, I see the following:
Maker:Compal; Model:A7-040; Carrier:T-Mobile;
Any ideas?

Can't find the Bluetooth fix for Dextermod 1.3 does anyone have a copy?
I purchased a GSat Bluetooth GPS receiver and want to use it but all of a sudden I can't enable bluetooth. I'm running 1.3 without any patches and I used to at least have the ability to turn on the bluetooth and pair up a headset. Now, in settings, I can't even get bluetooth enabled (I have WiFi just fine). I was looking for the bluetooth patch that was created for Dexter's 1.3 mod, but can't find it. Does anyone know where I can locate that patch?
I know that I could update to 1.4 (plus patches) but I've been spooked by some of the problems reported, and everything else is working well.
Update: OK, I found it at Post#690 on the Android Dev/Elocitymod thread. I hope it works!
if i recall the right file from examining dexters rom, he replaced either the settings or contacts apk that originally had bluetooth settings option from elocity w one that does not have those bluetooth settings, at least in the 1.41 rom. so upgrading will not help.

i didnt however inspect the settings fc update. =P

Bestialbub, if you have any advice for me I would really appreciate it. Your wife is so lucky to have you to help her... my husband is wonderful but l'm the techie of the family!!!
i might have the answer for that one;
1
download and install "anycut" from the market. its a utility application for making convenient shortcuts to important activities and menus in programs.
2
open anycut from your applications menu.
3
choose "new shortcut"
4
choose "activity"
5
scroll down to where i hope you see "Bluetooth settings"
you should now have a shortcut on the desktop labeled "Bluetooth settings". see if that gets you to what you need. it didn't work on my cm6 froyo rom for my x10 phone, and i don't have a tablet in my hands at the moment. i just got a force close error. i should think if the bluetooth app (it is an apk) is working right, it should open that menu, even though you may not find it elsewhere. sorry if it doesn't work.
EDIT; otherwise, if that doesn't work, using the same solution you may find one of the many "Settings" listings further down the activities list could be a bluetooth menu entry as well. they don't list the subnames sometimes for multiple activities/menu's in 1 program. you may also find some of these activities/shortcuts causes your tablet to reboot.

1. i did not remove bluetooth ... why would i do such thing..
2. previous roms had firmware bluetooth problems not "settings" in android.. different story.. different problem..
when its said "bluetooth fix", it means bluetooth boot.img fix, not anything else.. i would not recommend ideas, when you can actually just open and check yourself... and you're not using so why start advising on the firmware you havent seen.. your advise can be easily misunderstood, and you cannot see the problem, as you start directing in wrong direction, which lead to total confusion, which i see now.... why use shortcuts when settings offer a "bluetooth" option like all android would...
@dexter_nlb; i never falsely represent my suggestions as definitive solutions; just possibilities as workaround for a device i didn't have in my hands at the moment.
and for the record, *i* tried both suggested solutions, and yes, i verified the bluetooth settings shortcut i suggested (which could be a convenience for some to have direct access to from the homescreen) worked, as well as yours. i made the silly assumption someone would have checked the settings menu before asking.
@okantomi; under Wireless in the Settings menu in the newest elocity firmware, i cant say for elocitymod version youre running.
sorry dex couldn't CLEARLY answer this before chewing me out. @dexter_nlb; did you try my suggestion before snapping?
i wasn't making things up about your contacts.apk either;
Code:
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.BLUETOOTH" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADMIN" />
permissions not listed in the contacts.apk you provided that are listed in the factory apk. suggestive that the contacts.apk provided in elocitymod could be lacking some bluetooth functionality OR accessibility to such settings, at the least in the contacts.apk; a system application in your rom.
i'm pretty sure users are permitted to answer questions on xda without your permission, even if they do relate to your rom. wouldn't they be posting directly to your rom thread if they thought you were the only one with all the answers?
and i'm not suggesting you would intentionally remove functionality in your rom; but your rom is a work in progress, just like all roms. i'm sure with room for improvement, and those improvements are generally made with feedback and insight from other users.
good luck with your rom developmemt if this is how you respond when other users try to help each other online, out of your thread nonetheless, on a forum thats says "xda", not "dexter's". you should be taking these opportunities to learn from other people that are willing to help you, instead of assuming you have all the answers. i only quote what other users have been freely pm'ing and emailing me in private, after you've clearly given this impression to other users, and not for the first time.
EDIT: @dexter_nlb; i will have my own a7 by next week. you can rest a little sounder knowing i won't be suggesting untested solutions in the near future. sorry for the scare.
bluetooth access is if the framework require that in combination with a headset that has speech support or similar, but direct related its not.
Contacts and Bluetooth works independently.. and some rights failing during bootup can be ignored, and yes, contacts and calendar is "motorola" design for mobiles, so bluetooth makes less sense here, and the access is not important.
people using BT gps units mostly fail with it, as they think they should have it in "connected" state when they use the bluegps4droid app, but no, just have it paired is ok.. and mock locations enabled in this case under development, but all info possible to find when looking for bluegps4droid..
my previous problem with bt, was firmware flashing in previous releases not happening for all ppl. 1.41 do not have the problem.
the "problems" reported on 1.41 is sdcard related, that did not exist on 1.3 or previous as it were not at all found in android, but only as mount in filesystem. now its fully supported but with some tweaks to work with.
I installed Dexter's Bluetooth Fix for version 1.3 and it worked...I got my bluetooth back. Now I'm trying to get my GPS receiver to connect again -it did so for a while last night and won't connect again since I rebooted. However, I'm sure that's an issue with the hardware I'm using and will keep working on it.
Thanks to everyone who is working on making this tablet work better. I have learned a lot from all of the discussions and explanations. It is very appreciated.
I had an old "Palm" branded Garmin bluetooth GPS receiver laying around; so, I decided to give this a try with my A7. Pairs with bluetooth fine. Connects with Bluegps4droid. GPS stats seems to report the correct lattitude and longitude, but Google navigation does not work at all. I own copilot; so, maybe I'll try that later.

Panapacific DEA600 head unit and smart touch screen...

Hey Guys,
I just bought a brand new Kenworth W900, and it has android auto (or something mimicing it) built in... A panapacific dea600... the major problem is it super kludge... amongst being terribly locked down, i cannot connect to an ad hoc wifi thru my windows 10 laptop (that is tethered to my S6 with easy tether)... my tablet can connect to the ad hoc no problems, and my stereo can see the network but cannot connect to it for some reason (i REALLY need to update the trucks GPS maps, and have you tried to use a truck stops wifi? (like dial up))... id really just like access to the OS or another launcher so i can add some apps that i need (no not facebook or stuff like that) and perhaps root and rom it....
its running android 4.2.2... and i can get you the entirely too long software version
Its sad really because this could be cutting edge stuff, but someone higher up had to come up with ways to neuter this damn thing... and look i get that there are things i shouldnt have access to while driving, but it DOES have android web browser built in so its not like they dont want us using it...
i dont expect the world as this unit has only been shipping with trucks for a few months... and many of you may not have come across it... but perhaps it shares hardware with another system and panapacific just stole it (it HAS happened many times)
thanks guys and look forward to replies before i finish going insane

DEA600 - SmartDisplay for Automotive Infotainment
Hey,
I just came across your note while search for this product - I was the software architect/tech lead for the supplier company providing the Android port and the Freescale SOM component of the display screen on this product line - although moved on shirtly after the system went to mass production. - it is awesome to see someone here discuss it!
You are very correct on a lot of you assumptions and assessments. it was a very ambitious project that really tried to leverage as much of what Android was capable of at the time it was planned, but tuned to work as a smart display for commercial vehicles.
The display is only a part of a system of components. The display runs a port of Android 4.2.2 - but highly tailored to its environment - pairs with the Delphi radio unit (as a peer, not as an accessory) and is toghtly coupled to the unit in production. as a security measure.
unfortunately for what you are looking for, though much of the upgrade and app installation capabilities have been locked down to prevent side loading or execution of "unauthorized" apps that don't have special keys fro. the OEM or manufacturer. even if installed, the system manager will kill any apps that are launched without keys.
you may be able to get a developer key from the OEM but I don't know how they chose to mange that in the final system.
thanks for the posting, though - it was a small run comparatively for android systems but it was a pretty damn cool system with what we did get working....
I would be happy to discuss more if you want. - with what I can....

DEA600
hi there
i have same head unit in my 389 pride and class peterbilt, for the map part, that you can update by connecting it to your phones internet, either wifi hot spot if not then just connect it with bluetooth and use bluetooth tethering of phone and PAN of your DEA600, but main problem in the system is that you cant put a single thing without pulling breaks, and u cant download a single file by any means, it just displays error that unfortunately process.android. stopped or browser has stopped or settings has stopped. if any one figured out how to download anythimg in this little thing. please update
hello there. I have T-680 with DEA600. I had exactly the same problem and ended up taking my truck to a dealer. it turned out to be defected radio. After it was replaced, it would connect to a hotspot no problem ( im using htc 10).
I have the same unit in my W 900. It is a huge disappointment in many ways. First of all just like any factory radio I have ever seen in a commercial truck the sound quality is horrible. Second I don't like the fact that it locks so many functions when I am driving. I have a passenger that rides with me most of the time that is perfectly capable of safely operating those functions while I drive. This makes the GPS almost useless for the way I like to use a GPS. Good thing I still have my Garman. But really my biggest disappointment is the fact that I cannot get the gauges to work properly. It states that I can choose from over 30 gauges to be displayed however I have been unable to find any way to change from the six default gauges that are there. I have read the manual but it does not explain how to open the menu that lets you choose which gauges are there. I don't know if my unit is defective like one of a red one of yours was or if it just hasn't come out in an update yet. Also if I am reading this right it looks like my display and gauges function are tied to the stereo which means if I replace the head unit I'm going to lose that function. Am I reading that correctly?
Hey guys so a friend of mine has the DEA601 in his new truck and drives him nuts that the passenger cannot control things when its going faster than 5km hour (his old Peterbuilt worked fine).
I'm a software eng and would like to find out how to disable the Distracted Driver feature (like you can do in settings on many other Android Auto ROM's like Honda). What are my options here? a) Make a whole new ROM (but how to do that?) b) try to hexedit the existing ROM and find where the 5 km value is and modify it c) add an add-on app somehow to override this limit or d) other???
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I found out in order for the guages to work I need an $800 module my truck didn't come with. Now my biggest problem is the technology seems to have stagnated. The software on my phone and tablet are no longer very comparable with Android 4.2. I try my iPhone and my Android tablet and neither will play Pandora consistently. I am forced to use Bluetooth which looses sound quality on an already low quality stereo. I really wish Kenworth had spent their R &D on making their trucks compatible with idatalink like most aftermarket stereos use.
At this point I am torn between installing a hideaway marine stereo with a remote display and leaving this POS Pans Pacrapic as a display with nono sound. Or installing a line converter and amp and dealing with this clunky software. I wish someone would make a rom to upgrade this thing.
Looks like the Mfg won this round

I'm driving one of these trucks also and I keep checking this post but I guess we havent incentivized anyone who cud help yet!
The electrical switch must be located behind the air brakes control knob. I'm sure if you pull the stereo out you will find the wires that control the disabling feature. The unit tries to "update" when connected to wifi. Maybe someone can use wireshark and grab the update packet and modify it with root installed. I'm ok with trying anything short of taking the unit apart and Jtag the firmware directly. Would love to see one taken apart.

This is a 2+ year old thread being g responded to.
What is your point? 2years later and still no solution to the problem. I ran across this thread of people discussing the same problems I'm having with the radio unit. If you got something usefull to add to this discussion then please feel free otherwise you don't need to acknowledge when what was posted that helps me null with my problem.
Anyone here figure anything out?
still nothing
Hello! So I have little tech experience but I am willing to work with someone here to sort this out. Got a 17 w900 that I put a aftermarket double din in and retained smart nav for the gauges. What I did find was the screen (not the radio) gets a input from the wire harness off the ecm to give data to the screen. So I’ll attach a picture of the plug and maybe we can use this plus find it’s female counterpart then get the other end to plug into a maestro box? My Sony doesn’t have maestro. I do have a pioneer that does but can’t justify the cost being the Guinea pig. I’ve already been one of the first to get the tilt column to drop LOW and managed to fit a true 7” double din where the stupid nav was.

Android Wear support for external Bluetooth GPS receiver?

Can anyone confirm or deny if Android wear can connect to an external Bluetooth GPS receiver and get location from it? On Android it requires mock locations enabled, but I can't find anyone talking about this ability on Android Wear.
Few Android wear devices have GPS and it is a battery killer, so I would prefer to use an external Bluetooth GPS receiver if I were to get an Android Wear device.
I can find my old bluetooth gps and test it. I really doubt it supports external GPS units.
Any luck trying this out?
I tried. Doesn't work (yet?). The BT stack seems not set up to handle serial port profiles which is a requirement for external GPS decoders.
Thanks for trying this out. Much appreciated!

New TS10 UIS7862 6gb ram 128gb head unit q&a's

So I bit the bullet and bought myself this head unit:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_9JZiHu
Ad stated that unit is 4gb ts8, but unit shipped and arrived is 6gb TS10.
Plugged everything up unit works nice and smooth as expected, but one seriously annoying bug.
Phone connected to HU and when I try to make a phone call I can hear receiver speaking, but they can't hear me.
Head unit does have internal mic. And Mike does work with other apps
I've checked permissions and Bluetooth app does not even request mic permission.
Any ideas? Suggestions? Anyone else got similar issues?
Maybe custom ROMs available etc?
I've managed to enable USB debugging, got passwords for engineering mode, extra settings etc...
Pics of my headunit attached

I did actually managed to sort it out. Store suggested connecting external mic to 3.5mm plug on the harness that came with head unit. Did that, but nothing changed.
Can't remember exactly what I did, but it's something down the lines of Google Voice setting that it's setup to constantly listen for "hey Google" you have to disable that and than "hey Google" function will only work when you in the maps etc not constantly whilst head unit is on.
If you can't find that setting let me know I'll find it and explain in detail how to do that.
If you have the same issue as me I'm positive that this might be the cause

That was 100% it. Turned the 'Hey Google' activation off and problem solved. Thanks!
Glad I could help. I remember being frustrated fumming looking for answers for almost a week... With seller being let's say close to useless they did try...
I came across answer online somewhere where same issue was happening with a phone not headunit so thought worth a try and it worked
Anyway, good luck
Could you please give a screenshot of the setting you changed or at least where in the settings the function is.
Go to applications/car settings/ click on the left button ---more/ Google services and preferences/ click on account services/ search, assistant & voice/ voice/ voice match.
First line should say hey Google access your assistant any time you say "hey Google" when your screen is on. Turn this off.
This worked for me. I'll make a short video just in case

You have gone over and above. Thank you. Found never have thought to delve that deep into settings for the solution.
I did try to be helpful, because I know how frustrated I was being unable to make a phone call or rather switch to hands free mode on the phone every time there was a call. And it really bugged me. It was obvious that it was software not hardware issue since mic worked everywhere else.
Seller couldn't explain anything either and I ended up ripping my brand new cars dashboard 4 times trying to work it out... So I kind of understand and if it helps somebody else I'm more than pleased with taking 10minutes of my time to do so .
Good day sir

I can't tell you with confidence what units are compatible. I do note it has settings for screen resolution - this is on my 720p device. I also note I needed to adjust the config info setting to match what my stereo comes with after flashing. The canbus receivers are set up using a database queried online and car specific apps and logos are automatically added.
The update is excellent - everything works very well. Head unit reloaded works with wireless android auto and wired (though a little buggy wirrless)

Thanks for this. It is useful.
A couple of questions.
1. Can you run that config again if something is incorrect? If so what is the name of the APK? Or do you need to load the whole ROM again to get to that stage?
2. There is BC6,7,and 8. Do you know what specs they refer to?
3. 20210302_221437.jpg shows a mic gain. Could you please advise on the setting path you used to get to that setting page.
Thanks again.

Can you access the extra settings menu on your current firmware (password 123456)
I would copy the settings for BC6/7/8 from there.
You can update the config as often as you like. This sounds like a risky update, probably not worth attempting if you don't currently have similar software with similar settings.
Another password might be useful for somebody:

Help with using navigation on an Xtrons HU

Posting here as I think I used the wrong secrtion previously
I recently installed a Xtrons PQS90MTVL head unit in a skoda superb. I have a couple of questions on how to get it to work correctly when navigating.
1) It seems that you can set the navigation sounds to be a percentage of the radio volume but cannot set it to play at a given volume regardless. The problem is that the radio seems to be constantly on and there is no way to turn it off. The 'on/off' button simply mutes the radio - and the navigation sounds.
Often I am in an area where I cannot pick up a decent radio signal on the programme I want and just get static. In these situations I want to turn the radio off but still hear navigation sounds. I don't want to listen to loud static just so I can have the nav sounds play at a percentage of that static. Is there a way to turn the radio off but still get navigation sounds? (a workaround I have found is to play a media file instead of the radio and then pause playback. The nav sounds are then still a percentage of the - non existent - playback volume. However this should not be necessary)
2) It also seems that a Internet connection is needed for any navigation. even google maps won't do a search without it as it says I am offline. (is this true?)
I have bought the 4G wifi dongle but have a question about its use. Does the HU connect to the dongle, as far as data is concerned, via the USB socket that comes out of the back of the unit or is that socket simply powering the dongle and the HUI is actually connecting to it over wifi using the dongle as a hotspot? If so then I don't have to use the wired usb socket from the unit (which I suspect is underpowered) and can plug the dongle into an ordinary 2A USB socket that I have in the car, positioning the dongle near the roof for a better signal
Incidentally I did try using Android Auto with my phone using wired connection. That seems sort of OK but is not very reliable. Often when starting the car it hangs at the 'connected' screen, or even at the 'trying to connect' screen, although other times it seems OK
3) There is a small socket on the left hand side of the HU that looks like a slot for a small memory card or a sim card. It is labelled 'GPS'. What is that socket used for? it is not mentioned in the manual as far as I can see. - The manual is generally a bit hand waving though, excitedly telling you what you can do but not how to do it.
(I did try the xtrons forum but not only are the last posts there around January 2022 but there seems to be no way to register for it. Hence posting here)

First of all you need to fix your FM reception. You need to use a phantom power adapter to get some voltage to the OEM antenna.
There are some navigation apps which don´t need a internet connection. TomTom as example and others using offline maps. But you won´t get traffic messages if you don´t have an internet connection.
That would fix your white noise.
The FM radio can be closed if you use the back button on top right. If that does not help, chose the recent apps button on top and swipe the radio app away as for each other app... You really should learn how to use Android.
The navigation loudness can be set in the system settings. Depends on the unit where you can find it. In this case the navigation software needs to be registered as navigation in settings /Apps/Standard apps.
Regarding your 4G-WiFi dongle... The name itself shows the functionality.
It connects via 4G to the internet and provides the connection via WiFi to anyone in the car.... even too to the radio.
The GPS slot on your radio is nothing else as a micro-SD slot, which also can be used to store music on it or whatever else you want.
BTW: Seems that you are not that familiar with car electronics. May be a good idea to ask someone who can help you with some knowledge what has to be done.
Might be an easy task to just swap a radio, but there are more things behind than just swapping.
May I recommend 'Magic Earth' navigation, works fine with no internet but no live data of course.
At least there are a lot more offline navigation apps...
Out of memory:
Google Maps (partially with downloaded segmented maps)
HERE WeGo
Navmii GPS World
OsmAnd
MAPS.ME
Magic Earth
TomTom
iGo
But without internet... no traffic data..

Thanks for a helpful reply. I have already fitted a power injector for the FM antenna which made some difference but I like to listen to radio 4 and there are parts of the country (along the M11, on the A5 in North Wales), where you cannot pick it up on any radio - and of course in Europe where I have just been for a few weeks where I usually don't want the radio on at all. That's why having the nav sound set as a percentage of the existing volume seems a bit odd as it implies you already have some other sound on. Better to have a dedicated channel for it or have the nav mute any other sound.
I'll look at doing all the swiping etc to turn off the radio by closing recent apps although this doesn't seen like a very safe thing to start doing when you drive into a area of poor reception. I was hoping the unit would have a simple press button like in the good old days!
The dongle info is also useful thank you. Xtrons do not make this clear at all. They imply that by plugging it into the socket on the unit you have made a (wired) data connection. If the HU is still only connecting over wifi anyway then I can install the dongle wherever I like in the car so that it gets a good 4G signal, instead of it having to be in the driver footwell at the end of the short USB cable xtrons supply and I can use a dedicated 2A usb adaptor to supply decent power .
I guessed the 'GPS' socket might have nothing to do with GPS. Shame Xtrons couldn't say what it was for instead of just mis-labelling it.
Incidentally. The SIM in the dongle would only ever be used for the navigation to receive traffic updates or bits of map or whatever it needs i.e I don't intend to be surfing the net or downloading Utube videos. Do you have any idea what sort of data requirements this would mean. Would a 250Mb a month sim be enough?
I'll experiment with your suggestions.

I'll look into those thank you. I use maps.me on my phone but couldn't get google maps to work on the HU as it said I was offline. Of course I still need an internet connection to download any of those apps and install them on the HU but I could just park near my house and using the house wifi.
Data plan for using navigation online data depends on the app you use and the amount of mileage per month.
You can use your smartphone first to see what you need in a "normal usage" month and then decide what you need.
If you use any offline map solution, it´s also some sort of usage dependency.
BTW... If you would invest into a higher data plan (2GB), you could use the app Radionator to use Online radio. BBC Radio4 should be in there too. Radionator is the best alternative if you want to listen to one specific radio station. Just needs a stable internet connection, nothing else... and the sound is mostly better than FM.
May be you can use the Navradio+ as alternativ solution for receiving FM radio. Depends on the MCU of your unit. Search for it in MTCD software forum.

I would recommend to use HERE WeGo, it served me very well for the years I didn't have mobile internet connection. Also it shows the max allowed speed in most countries, whereas Google Maps doesn't do that.
Sure, Here WeGo is a good choice, even without internet connection.
