The Nexus devices (Broadcom chipset) can use their internal WiFi card to inject packets since they can be put into monitor mode.
I don't have much knowledge about 802.11, WiFi, and the chipset but I think OnePlus' WiFi can also be put into monitor mode by tweaking the chipset. The OnePlus probably uses the Qualcomm chipset(?)
It would be of great use if we get this working on the internal WiFi card.
Are anybody interested to try this?!

Hi, Does anyone know if the compatibility issues between the SD wi-fi card and Dlink 802.11G/B mixed mode wireless routers/access points has been fixed yet? Namely the DL-624+, DWL-2000AP+, DSL-902, DSL-604 AirG+ family. I have the DWL-2000AP+ and have been trying to get answers out of sandisk and dlink with no joy. Apparently there are problems because the SD card needs to work in B only mode and the dlink kit only supports G only or mixed mode.
Has anyone on here go the SD card working with any of the dlink kit mentioned above and if so what settings do you have to make on the access point and within the SD card drivers?
I would like to get the Magician and the Sandisk SD card but if there are problems with that combination and my wireless access point I with probably go for the Blue Angel.
Cheers
Hi,
There is compatibility issues with SanDisk SDCard Wifi and Dlink Wifi product, no doubt about it. None of these vendors wants to admit that their device is a fault. I can sure you that they have implementation compatibility issues. I have tried Cisco AP with SanDisk without issues and on the other hand tried various notebook Wifi with Dlink AP without problem. One way that I have found get Dlink product to work with SanDisk SDCard Wifi is to do the followings.
IF you have dual antenna AP or Router, you can enable the proprietary speed mode like super G or 4X, otherwise you have to disable it in Dlink.
1) make sure that the Wifi Channel is set to eleven (11).
2) Transmit and receive speed to a max of 11mbit.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Kueh.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Unfortunately still no joy. Set it to use channel 11, speed enhancments turned off. Set to mised mode max speed 11mbps open system no wep or wpa, mac filtering etc. SSID broadcasting turned on. The SD card can see the wireless network, it just times out trying to connect. I've also tried adjusting the preabble from short to long.

Found this small app to turn Promiscuous Mode for tnetwln based network wifi cards so you can scan wifi packets with a ppc. Ideal for analyzing your own home or business wifi
I made it a cab file and added a shortcut in Programs.
thanks man.
what does it do? specificaly, does it connect to secured routers? or does it just make you invisible/anonimous?
Promiscuous Mode is making your wifi card go into monitor mode scanning all the channels to capture certain data packets, Used with the right software you can test your home or business wifi security but please remember that it is a federal offence in most country's to use this on wifi networks that don,t belong to yourself
Have a read here for more info and help how to use these devices:
Code:
www.aircrack-ng.org/
Error's when runing app
WHen I run the Promiscous App, and get the following errors:
CCTL
Cannot find SDIO TNETWLN.DLL
CCTL
Cannt activate CCTL device!
I am running on a HTC Hermes (Att 8525) with Windows mobile 6.
How do I determine the type of network card I have?
Thanks.
Really, really thanks for it, it's just what i was looking for.
Thanks again.
Does it work on Prophet?
nice what pocket pcs have tnetwln network cards in them?
anything for touch HD?? - TiwlnapiCE.dll
bump what do i need to save all the traffic into a .cap file? and what pdas have tnewwln based cards?
i don't know the spec of al ppc but this is for the tnetwln found in the kaiser but also other mobiles To collect packets use airscanner mobile sniffer or sniffi see post #1 for links to aircrack forum

promiscuous mode and monitor mode are 2 different things.
Whether there is something similar for jaguarGSP based network wifi cards?
Have new AT&T Pure w/modified back cover for 2600 mah battery.......1100 mah standard. Loaded HTC Wifi Router (XDA, Tom Codon), 10 digit key doesn't seem to work. Have Globalinx's new CU-3000 vidoephone, with built-in wifi, which 'sees' XDA-Sharing wifi signal, but doesn't connect to it. (Lights do not change.) Cannot used Pure as hotspot. What do I change in CU-3000 config? Pure? I'm a lost newby. HELP!!
Dsims6465
The Pure used as a wifi router needs to be accessed in "ad hoc" mode rather than "access point" mode. Are you sure the CU-3000 supports this? I had a quick google but couldn't find out...
Ad-hoc hotspots and Globalinx CU-3000
Thanks, Pete_S; this videophone is very new to the world. Not much info out there, yet. I'll do some detective work and find out if it can connect ad-hoc. I surely hope so, as the 7" screen with wifi beats my AT&T Pure by a big margin. Love them both, though.
Any other info/input from anyone else?
my wifi router works just fine on my phone. used it like 2 days ago with my buddies iphone{cause some apps can only be downloaded through wifi} the videophone prolly doesnt work cause the pure has no forward facing camera.
leemoss84 you misunderstood my problem. I'm not trying to use my Pure as a Videophone......I'm trying to connect my Globalinx Videophone (portable) to my Pure over wifi. The Videophone only accesses the 'net over wifi or broadband ethernet. I want to be able to use real time video and audio telephone calling anywhere I have AT&T 3G signal. Thanks for input, anyway. You didn't have to take the time, but you did.
Pet_S you were 'on target!' My Globalinx CU-3000 doesn't function in ad-hoc mode. See my post to leemoss84. Now, who has an app that converts 3G data to wifi? Everything I've ever seen is ad-hoc. Atheros has chips that work with drastically reduced battery drain, but I'm not a manufacturer! The world needs a stand-alone app for infastructure mode. Any ideas?

A USB antenna, as in, a WiFi antenna?
what is a USB antena ?
Normally, it's a dongle that plugs into a USB slot. You can buy them just about anywhere and use them on just about any computer - but typically you use them when you either don't have a card installed or don't want CAT5 running around the house.
I don't know why one would want one for the tab as it has integrated WiFi.
I have a feeling he meant 3g.
Yes a WiFi antenna so I can increase the ability of the tablet to connect to weak signals.
I don't think that would be supported. WiFi dongles typically have software that has to run alongside them and there's nothing like that for our Tabs (or any Tabs for that matter). That I'm aware of, anyways.
If you're looking to get a stronger signal at home, get a WiFi booster(s) and place them around the house in areas that have poor signal - as for trying to increase signal strength in public places, you're sol.
put ddwrt on old router like linksys you're set for wifi repeater
I know this thread is old, but I did not want to start a new one. Had anyone ever seen this: roklandllc.blogspot.com/2010/10/bearextender-n3-wi-fi-usb-adapter.html ?
Apparently they had the device work, just by plugging it into a Android device called a FlyTouch 2. I wonder what it is about that device that allows it to work. I think they noted that the FT2 was running 2.1 I believe on another site.
I do not know if it would be more of a burden to have an external Wifi, but it is interesting. I am thinking of buying one if I can find it on sale next month, when we have money.

if you ever got this to work pm me, i need the rt3070 drivers on my andriod...
Hi all,
I am new to the forum and not a developer However I am quite experienced with IT. I have a question related to a rowing machine and hope you can help me.
I am using a Nordictrack RW900 rower. This machine has a screen attached which is basically an Android tablet. Unfortunately the wifi is very weak (only 2.4 GHz single band). During the workouts it is becoming very slow and the video workouts will be interrupted. My wifi signal is strong (40-50 devices connected, Unifi access points, 1Gbit internet connection), so it is not related to my infrastructure. I already placed a repeater just nearby without success. The best connection I got was 40 Mbit/s, but sometimes it goes down to 15-20 Mbit/s.
So my idea was to attach a USB-to-Ethernet adapter. I bought one using the AX88772 chipset, see picture. When I attach a cable to the adapter then both leds are flashing (orange, green) but the device is not working. I assume that the Ethernet drivers are missing on the tablet. In the Ethernet menue I tried DHCP and static IP without success.
Please find attached a few screenshots I took showing the config of the tablet. I was able to install Droid info apk through the browser on the device.
I would be happy if someone could advise.
Thanks.
