Unlocked SM-G955F running Android 7.0 (Samsung Experience 8.1).
I am not using any package disablers.
Only Gmail has been manually disabled.
My 'Screen lock type' is PIN. I can only use PIN and Password types due to security restrictions that were applied when I added my NHS work e-mail accounts.
Any ideas?

I am considering one of these phones. I have a G1 now and like the specs on this better.
I use my phone to sync with Exchange 2007 and I see there are some issues with that. Not a big deal if I can get Touchdown working on this phone. That is what I use now and it is fine.
On to my question. Our security policy at work requires a password to unlock the screen on phones synced to our exchange server. I have seen where there is a screen lock to prevent pocket dials. Do they still have the option to enable the password pattern like what the older G1 has? Work was fine with that for a password.
Thanks
AFAIK, the built in active sync client does not support the enforecement of security policies. However, touchdown does support the enforecement of a 4 digit pin (and probably other security policies). This basically means that you must enter the pin you set when launching the touchdown application. It's not a bad implementation, but I do wish the android screen lock could somehow "qualify" as entering the pin.
Main screen -> Menu button -> Settings -> Location & Security
in there you will see the pattern settings.
(Yes pattern lock is available.)

Thanks. So it sounds like it is just like my G1. I don't have a N1 yet but before I ordered one I wanted to make sure.
I'm running the M build of CM10.1, and can't add widgets to my lock screen. Swiping from left to right just bounces the screen, rather than showing a "+" sign to add a widget. Is the feature not enabled on our build, or am I missing a letter somewhere that turns it on?
Thanks!
do you have corporate email set up with device admin privileges?
to check, go to settings -> security -> device administrators.
some device admin privileges (like the one for email) disable some features for the keypad lock (or lockscreen).
beware though that disabling the device admin privs for email will also delete your email account from the phone (i think).
Greetings.
Settings - Device - Lock screen - Screen lock: there should be "no lock" option among others like pattern, pin etc. But it's gone. I've got a second device which does have it. They are both updated to the latest 4.4.2 android. The main difference is - mine had been rooted, unrooted, untrriped Knox and installed manually (by odin) the previous firmware. The last one I've got by Wi-Fi. No resets whatsoever.
So my question is where this option now is hiding? It's some bug due to flashing my phone or something about Knox being activated and run? Maybe I should clear data in some app?
remove all your mail accounts (it might be your work email account - some ms exchange acc)
Clear all certificates under security.
"Clear credentials" is greyed out. There are a lot of them in "trusted credentials" but I presume you're not talking about them. I'll try removing emails one by one then.
I can't seem to disable the finger print unlock and the pin unlock. It makes me use one or the other and all I want is the swipe unlock. I'v tried clearing credentials, I disabled every credential individually, I deactivated device administrators. Nothing works. Anyone>?
Only way Right now to disable Security lock is by doing Factory Reset,
ZTE knows about it and hope will be fix on the next update.....beside I guess there's more to play there.

You might have an app that is enforcing the lock policy, like for instance an exchange email account that enforces secure screen or a banking app and such. Also deactivate smart-lock under security/trust agents. But clearing credential storage should kinda reset all of it unless you have to clear all fingerprints as well
I want to turn off the lock screen, not even swipe, but there is no "none" option in Security settings. Originally, my phone was an Amazon ads phone, but I paid the $50 to get rid of ads (spent hours trying to remove using debloater tool from this website but hit brick wall). I thought maybe that was what was preventing the "none" lock screen option, but I still don't see it. I have Android 6.0.1.
Any suggestions? Does anyone who has an Amazon phone (with or without ads) see the "none" option in Security settings for lock screen? (with Android 6.0.1+)
Thanks!
I believe the issue you are experiencing is related to the presence of a guest account. On older versions of the g if there was a guest account the none option for the screenlock disappeared. I just tried to disable the guest account on my prime g4, but don't see a way to actually remove the account.
I can't seem to figure out how to remove/disable the guest user account...

Unless you're rooted I don't believe you can remove it.
