Galaxy Core Prime system update corrupted? - Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Questions & Answers

My phone did an automatic system update earlier, and when it turned back on a bunch of my apps were missing, so I restarted it again to see if I could get them to boot properly (it's happened like that before). Then it wouldn't turn on all the way, it just kept cycling between the three power on/off screens for several hours. I tried wiping the cache several times and rebooting from the recovery screen, then a factory reset and reboot, but every time I try it brings up a bunch of error messages display, mostly E: failed to mount/cache (Invalid argument); E: can't mount/cache/recovery/last_recovery; E: can't mount/cache/recovery/log; and E: can't open/cache/recovery/log.
Any idea what I can do to at least turn my phone back on?
Thank you!

Try downloading Samsung Switch on a PC. It has an emergency recovery mode. It should see it when you plug it in via USB.
You may need to restart it in download mode, with powering off, then pressing vol down, home and power together until it loads up into a menu. Then press vol up to confirm it.
Now plug it in with USB cable. Select More from Switch and then the Emergency recovery option. Your device should show up. Then you should be able reset the firmware.

[Q] At a loss, Tried everything still stuck at moto logo

Stuck at splash screen
multiple battery pulls
flashed sbf
redownloaded sbf reflashed incase it was currupted
flashed just system sbf
cant get into recovery with holding home and powering up, even with holding home and inserting battery.
Im at a complete losss dont know what else to try
When you removed the battery, did you leave it out a couple minutes?
Are you continuing to hold the home button after turning it on?
What version bootloader do you have?
What's the file name of the sbf's you're using?
battery pulls from a few seconds to 5-10-15 minutes and just now overnight.
Held the home button fro upto a minute still nothing
30.03
VRZ_MB810_2.3.15_1FF_01, and just the system flash i tried SHADO_X6_2.3.13_SYSTEM-ONLY
just got it into recovery holding the home and menu button, when i hit search no recovery menu comes up just the exclaimation with the android
ok scratch that, holding the menu key with the search key brings up the menu... This phone is messed up lol. volume rocker wont select anything though.... the factory reset is soooo close
E:cant mount cache:recovery/command
E:cant mount cache:recovery/log
thats what i get
OK i think its an hardware issue
only can get into recovery with home and search pressed.
only can pull up recovery menu with volume down and search
have to hold menu+volume up then volume down to scroll menu. was able to do a factory reset, still stuck at the m logo.
Downloaded the ota update.zip formatted sd card and put it on
apply update.zip results in error in sd card/update.zip (status 2)
I get stuck at the splash screen about 1 out of 3 times I restart. What usually works for me (but not always) is waiting a few minutes afer pull before restarting.
I actually called Verizon to get a replacement for this issue and the rep said this is a well known issue with the 2.2 update phones and they are actively working on a fix. Sucks
yea they wouldnt help me since the warantee isnt transferrable
Hey,
I have had a similiar issue and this is how I did it. I *successfully* flashed the .sbf and I was still stuck at the motorola boot logo. I then booted the phone into recovery and deleted the cache and data and everything. After I did this it booted up fine!
I hope that this helped, let me know :-D
^^^same like above. got stuck after flashing a million times. wiped data/cache and booted normally.
Are you able to go into the Bootloader?
yea, i was able to do that aswell, still nothing. ended up trading for a working droid 1

yes, bootloader was fine, and could get into recovery, but had to hold volume up with volume down to scroll... i concluded the phone was just a fluke.
I wouldn't doubt it got wet. That sort of stuff happens...

When I plug the phone to computer,I don't get any response

Hi,I have two big issuses:
1.I turn on my phone, and minutes later my phone can't output audio.
Explanation:
I can't hear music,videos,games.
I enter to Sound settings -> Volume
I check Incoming call,works.
I check Media,doesn't work.
I check System,doesn't work.
I check Notification,works.
And if I turn off the screen by pressing the power button, most of the time the screen sticks and I must restart my phone by holding the power button because my battery will end quickly. The phone sticks in my wallpaer.
I change ROM and no success with this issuse.
2.When I plug my phone to computer, the phone respone with notification sound but no notification message about turn on my storage(usb debugging is marked)
and no respone in computer.
The same when usb debugging is unmarked-Samsung Kies can't find my phone(the MTP application works in my phone).
I try with anthor cable or computer and no respone.
When I enter to cwm all the text colored blue and not orange as always
I get this options(colored blue):
Android system recovery <3e>
Enter: OK Key. Select : Vol UP / Vol Down
rebot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
Click to collapse
And I get this message(colored yellow):

I try to wipe data/cache , no change.
Help?
Thanks.
Sounds like you have lost CWM and gone back to stock recovery, you may have to flash CF-Root again to get CWM recovery. Then you might be able to Data wipe and flash another rom.

[Q] Get into recovery without ADB?

I'm trying to get into recovery mode because I'm stuck on a boot loop, but I can't manage to do it. I've Googled and Googled but the only thing I've managed to find was how to get into download mode, and factory reset. All of the instructions for getting into recovery require you to use adb, but neither adb nor fastboot work for me in any of the modes I've mentioned.
So how can I get into recovery mode (or at least fastboot) without using ADB?
For future reference, since I can't seem to find a single guide out there for this:
Factory Reset Mode
Completely power off phone (hold power button until it resets, keep holding after LG logo shows up to power off)
Hold Vol.Dn + Power until screen powers on
When screen power on, release and hold Vol.Dn+Power again
Downlaod Mode
Completely power off phone (look above)
Hold Vol.Up
Connect USB Cable

Wow thanks. That's a weird process
So even though there is a scary message up that says your phone will be wiped, it doesn't actually happen and you will just go to recovery?
I'm curious about this as well since I heard about people losing data due to this hardware button combination.

What's the difference between the factory reset mode and the download mode? I couldn't get the Factory Reset mode to work so I tried the download mode method and it worked but it took me to a screen that says "Firmware Update: Do not unplug the USB connection until the process is complete"... But it sits at 0%. What should I do?

I think download mode is to restore/update the software through LG's tools in case of corruption or something that doesn't let you get into recovery. I got the same message as you with it being stuck at 0%, but I just held the power button until it turned off. Nothing happened to the phone or my data.
And on the factory reset screen, even though it says it'll wipe everything, it actually won't (at least for me it didn't). It just took me into TWRP (recovery mode). However, if you don't have TWRP installed, then I think it actually will wipe all your data.

Stuck in Odin Mode

Hi all.
I tried to install a new recovery SM-G360H in a SM-G360F with Odin. After that, the phone doesn't boot, it always stays stucked at Download Mode / Odin Mode. Actually, I think it isn't Download Mode really because Odin doesn't recognize it (and because it shows Samsung Galaxy Core Powered by Android as background), althought it does if I turn it on holding volume down + home + power (in this way it shows the android's logo as background). Of course, the recovery hasn't changed at all. At the moment I have tried:
-wiping the battery and the cards
-installing another recovery with Odin (the correct one this time)
-wiping cache partition
-wiping data/factory reset (I get this error while Formatting /sbfs.. -> E: unknown volume for path [/sbfs], E: unknown volume "/sbfs". But finally log says "Data wipe complete" anyways)
-holding many differents combinations of volume up/down + home + power trying to reset the phone to factory, without result. Not sure if I have test all the combinations.
*Drivers installed
*USB Debugging enabled
So... What am I supposed to do? Should I start to consider my phone bricked?
Thanks!

@maximetinu Well, I guess it's time to buy a new phone or try giving it to a service centre, but there are very less chances of it getting fixed. No matter how similar a device looks or haves the same hardware or software NEVER flash a ROM or recovery which is not specifically made for a certain device.

No problem, u say that odin won't recognize your phone, do you have the phone drivers installed if not install kies 2.6.4, and get an original rom from sammobile.com or you can just let kies fix it for you (connect the phone go to tools then click emergency frimware upgrade)

SM-930F Won't reboot, can't be flashed and won't start up due FGP Lock.

Hi!
I've got an Samsung Galaxy S7 since 2017.
Due to an app i wanted to use i tried to Root my phone. It did work but not all apps worked properly so i tried to unroot it.
As it did seem to work but i was still a bit sceptic i decided to do a factory reset to completely empty it.
While doing the factory reset my phone crashed... also found out that i didn't have my OEM allowance on so i can't even enter my phone anymore as it says Custom binary locked by FRP Lock.
I emptied the data / cache and tried to factory reset but it wouldn't do anything.
I tried flashing my phone with the samsung firmware for the S7 with odin, BUT my phone doesn't respond at all.
it just keeps standing on Downloading... do not turn off target. Even if Odin tries to write onto the phone nothing happens, even tho the downloader should respond. Tried different Cables as well. As of now i have no idea what to do left to get in there. i tried for hours, tried different firmwares, but nothing responds... Anyone having tips for me?
When you tried with oden where you in download mode or still on the boot screen with the lock message?
You can't flash if your not in download mode.
to get in download you shoud normally by pressing the Volume Down, Home and Pose On/Off button together for about 3-4 seconds.
Once the Download screen appears, press Volume Up button to continue.
you could give this a try
Press the Power On/Off button and Volume Down button simultaneously for 5-7 seconds as shown below.
Wait for the phone to reboot and start again normally.
See that the Custom Binary Block error message does not pop-up this time.
if not then you could try .
Another useful way to bypass/remove the FRP Lock error is to perform a factory reset on your phone. This can be implemented by booting into the Recovery Mode. To do so:
Long press the Power On/Off, Home and Volume Up button together and was for a screen with multiple options appear before you.
Now use the Volume Down key to scroll down and select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” using the Power On/Off button as shown in the screenshot below.
Wait patiently for the process to get over and for your phone to restart normally.
Note: you will lose all your data and setting stored in the phone after performing a factory/ hard reset.
Be prepared to set-up your phone from scratch after the process is over.
