i'm getting an average drain of 9.5% per hour and i've tried different kernels , upon flashing the kernel for the first day i'd get about 8 or 7.7 ℅ drain per hour but after a day or two it jumps back up to 9.5 - 10 is this too much for active drain?? can this be fixed with a kernel or a custom rom? Btw i forgot to mention i'm getting this active drain at about 10-15 % brightness and i'm also running the latest franco kernel with no limits rom, i would really appreciate it if someone could help me out .
Wait, this means you are getting SOTimes of about 10 hours?

nope only about 8 hours because of idle drain i guess
You are talking about drain while the screen is on? That doesn't seem like a high number to me. You might be able to extend that by choosing the most battery friendly governor, under clocking the CPU or some other things that will make the performance of the phone suffer--but I'm not sure why you would want to waste money on a powerful phone and then throttle everything to maximize battery life. I suppose you could also go into the Developer Settings and severely limit the number of background processes that are permitted to run and also keep the phone running in battery saver mode most of the time. It's ultimately your phone. I'm sure you can find some tips for extreme battery savings if you do a Google Search.
I get about 7.5-8% drain with my screen on based on AccuBattery and about .3-.7% with idle drain (screen off). The combined drain is about 2.8-4% per hour based on usage obviously.
For basic info, I'm on auto brightness, stock OOS and stock kernel and I'm a medium/heavy to heavy user. I use my phone A LOT for work and play.
If you do a lot of web surfing, I found that habit browser is the most feature packed browser and the lightest on battery drain, and it's free with an ad blocker! So that could help some.

Well I decide to start this thread for us, to have a guide about wich ROM are we using and the battery average drain. Feel free to post you battery screenshots, and of course your information.
ROM
Average time
Percentage
Any tweaks.
Thanks!! Lets build some usefull information.
Hi,
I can only report bat usage on two ROM's since only used two till now.
JELLYTIME by Randomblame
Average time: about 13 hours
Wifi constantly on, mobile data also, average calls time between 3-4 hours, average of 1 hour of internet browsing, no gaming at all
Although it is a very good ROM, for me battery up time was a half that has with a stock ROM. It drains about 4-5 % per hour on standby
Any tweaks: No tweaks
CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies / M-Series by Mustaavalkosta
Average time: about 20 hours
Wifi constantly on, mobile data also, average calls time between 3-4 hours, average of 1 hour of internet browsing, no gaming at all
Battery time for this ROM is superb, I think it's a far better than a stock ROM. If I don't use phone much it can go 24+ hours on standby (Actuly I'm planing to do little experiment, to see how much will last on stand by only)
Any tweaks: No tweaks
Sorry I don't have screenshots
P.S. I think you should change thread title, since this is comparison between ROM's it's not guide for anything
If you guys are going to do this, it may be good to set more factors in. I.e.: age of battery, if on data, reception strenght and so forth.
Sent from a dream.
Ok I 've got one of those 2450 mAh Gold battery's for my desire HD not sure if its the real thing or that high as it was only £7 on ebay but its better than my stock battery for sure.
I'm running AOKP 9/13 build with Sync on, Gmail push, some SMS ,Maps, internet, calls and running Android pro widgets for facebook and Greenify to kill Maps.
Today I have 57% battery after 9hrs 56m on battery
40 % screen
25% calls
15% standby
11% idle
6 % Maps
3% Android System
2% akmd (what's that?)
I think those stats are great and as good if not better than when I was running Mike's Android revolution HD 7.3.
Really pleased with AOKP very stable and no FC. Only thing is the proximity sensor works but sometimes must switch back on in a call, but I've heard this is a common problem with JB roms. I can live with that and I've heard of a recalibration app that might work.
BTW I use android pro widgets for facebook as I prefer it to facebook app and I'm sure it's better on battery life. Also less is more don't download to many apps, they bleed that battery with background maps and internet.
Guys, please post your battery life screenshots. Mine is fine
Dont have screenies but my SOT is 3 and half hours . Pac rom Lp 5.1 Caf D802 .
There is already a thread about battery life where users posted their screens...anyway your screen in the first post is useless to determine battery life. Dont mean to be rude but it really is useless, because if you barely use the phone, you can reach 120h+ easily. You have to give more information. Even the screen on time is not accurate to determine battery life, because there are some users who use their phone like an e-reader and get massive amounts of screen time that are impossible to reproduce when using the phone on normal conditions. Not everyone uses the phone in the same conditions. A good way to determine it would be the screenshot like you gave, another one with the apps showing consumption, another one with screen time and a screenshot of cpu spy or any other cpu measuring app(because this will make it easy to spot how those e-readers get so much sot, usually their lowest cpu frequency is used a LOT, unlike normal users)
always 6-6.5 hours sot. can hold up to 3 days or more with light usage using Cloudyg2 2.2.
Fyi, cloudy g2 is not the reason you get 6h+ sot... unless you're significantly reducing performance and/or screen brightness. No rom can beat physics(and logic).
I average 5h sot over 2-3 days with wifi/data/sync/auto brightness on. Can easily go a week in standby if check it a few times a day. Running stock sprint lollipop with latest zvi update.
Well that's depressing....I have a battery life of maybe 4 hours with 1 to 1,5 hours of screen on time........I made a post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help/battery-messed-t3297770.
If anybody has a suggestion I would be more than pleased. Been using the phone for +2 years. And looking at the screenshots of yours, I hadn't had that in a loooongloooong time
At full charge, plugging in earphone and listening to music or videos on youtube , i get like 3 and half and sometimes 4 hours depending on the rom. Screen is set to the lowest. I dont install much app, especially which connects to the internet silently in the backgroud. Disable location services and all too helps. At idle with wifi on and phone radio is 90% or more good signals, it lasts for about 3 or 2 and half days (depends on kernel too) . What rom you using @deereper ??Have you tried reducing google service battery drain via script and all ?
deereper, and anyone else getting under 3h sot, your battery is shot. I had similar battery performance until I replaced it. In my experience custom roms/kernels may make a very minor difference but have much worse performance and stability.
Yeah, I ordered a new battery.
I really don't want to but a new phone just for the battery.
And yes, with those battery stats it doesn't matter if you run stock or aosp
It's D802 btw, auto brightness 0%, wifi data gps always on. SOT 6-6.5hours only with continuous usage, if add in standby SOT average around 4.5-5 hours
Hi all!
I don't know you, but one of the main concerns I have about my tab is the battery life.
I don't know, but there's something about your tablet having the same or lower screen on time / battery life that your phone that seems wrong to me.
Anyway, this thread is to share our experiences with battery life, consisting basically of:
1. The ROM we're using
2. The governor (cpu and hotplug)
3. The apps for saving battery
4. Any other tweaks battery related
A print of battery stats and screen on time (sot) would be more than welcome, if not just share the values.
This way we can help each other to squeeze the maximum out of this 4800 mA battery, and the snapdragon 800
Thanks!
I find the battery drain in CM13 odd, for example if you run a game the battery drains at an alarming rate, like 50% down to 20% in 10 minutes, but if you power off the device it goes back up to 50% on next reboot
though perhaps my batt is just getting old now... :......(

Hello XDA members. I've been struggling to get a good battery life. My aim is atleast a day of usage along with a minimum of 4 hours SoT. Currently on XtreStoLite 3.3.1 Rom with Arter Kernel (SM-G920I).
If you search for a thread called 'Galaxy S6 battery is insane', you will notice some tips, and the op is mentioning getting 8 hours of SoT.

Idk how is this possible, implying that it generally is. I'm on my own self heavily debloated stock (basically as light as XtreSto but the base is the latest one) with arter kernel 21.0 (best release imho) and I get 3.5hrs SoT average. I use Greenify and got rid of ****ty apps long time ago - talking mainly about Facebook.
The thing is that nobody even posted a screenshot of this ridiculous SoT score so I can hardly believe it.
That's there. However, I could see 2 screenshots of 8 hours and 10 hours of SoT. Might be a screenshot from some other phone
man 8h sot or 10 h sot is impossible. And dont trust all you see in the battery threads.
This phone is capable of maximum 6h 30 sot on wifi with light usage..i mean reddit ,xda
4h sot with heavy usage.
And 3h on 3g
Dont expect any more.

Okay. Another suggestion.
I'm on XtreStoLite 3.3.1 Rom. Using stock kernel, Greenify, DisableService to increase battery life. Any other suggestions? (If any app, please give detailed settings ). Thanks
I had 7.5h SoT on 5.1.1 full stock without much tweaking, so this is completely real. However this is 2g+wifi. On 3g and lte I can hardly get 3h on any ROM
How the F can you achieve 4h+ on Samsung S6??? I'm new to S6, tried atleast 5 ROMs and 2 kernels (arter and nogeek) and by any chance I didn't get more than 3h SOT ...
Interactive (Max. battery)(underclocked)(undervolted) + noop i/o + HEBF app = 4h sot on 3g. 6,5h sot Wi-Fi for me.
@edit
Ahh i forgot.. +GovTuner
Okay. And any kernel suggestions?
On G920T i'm using firestorm for better performance. Twisted/arter for better battery life. I think it's possible to get 7h+ sot on wifi.

Thanks for this thread. Went with xStreSoLite and arter 21 kernel and so far it's looking really good. Atleast 4h+ SOT looking to be.
Well. I'm finally back to everything stock. Just have the EZ Disabler app.
How's Arter 22 vs 21 vs Hacker Kernel ?
Combination of WiFi on(75%) and off(25%).
I think you can tweak and flash all you want. The main reason for drain on the phone is the brightness. So just turn it down as low as you can (I am on auto and about 1/3 of the brightness slider). Like this I get around 4 hrs of SOT, depending on where I am (autobrightness). If I start turning the brightness up, it just sucks up my battery in no time. So I think all this flashing and especially undervolting and underclocking your chip don't do much except maybe slow your phone down and make it instable. And all the time you spent on the tweaking process, you might as well have used otherwise. Don't get me wrong, I also used to do it, just because I could and because I liked it, but looking and it now, it just wasn't worth the time. Just close your background apps from time to time, disable and uninstall those you don't need, use an appropriate network speed (you probably don't always need LTE) and turn down the brightness.
Cheers, n00by

^ Basically this
I currently use my phone heavily with Xtrestolite 3.3.1 (Android 6.1) with the following:
Kernel: Arter97 kernel(interactive)
Google: MicroG to replace Google Play crap
Apps: Amplify / AppopsXposed / Greenify / Titanium Backup
With most crap uninstalled/frozen SOT-times vary heavily depending on brightness and use, for example I use Snapchat and Instagram a lot so I need to SEE what happens on the screen without putting effort in it which in some occasions forces me to tune up brightness.
Most likely if I were to use 5.x Android instead of 6.x it would decrease overall battery use but my phone is currently running smooth so I don't want to go through the hassle to get that working.
I don't see why you all are not getting good battery life. This phone has awesome battery life.

Hi all
I thought I'd ask the experts about what are in your opinion some good roms for battery backup?
I'm currently on stock MIUI Global 11.0.5.0 (PFGMIXM) but I'm not much satisfied with the battery backup (5-6hours SOT).
I need some stable firmware since I use my phone mostly for work, no gaming, no social media, just phone calls, messaging and some light youtube usage.
Thanks!
Ion OS is brilliant, especially for battery - sourceforge.net/projects/i-o-n/files/device/xiaomi/lavender/ Around 10-11 hours SOT.

Miui right now just being laggy and jerky sometimes with animation, thus pixel based cutom rom just some having like miui and some is dont. I prefer evolution x on latest build, which smooth operation per my multitasking usage(on stock kernel obviously), whilst the battery just doing better other than resurection remix, pixel experience etc.

Could you be more specific about how long the battery lasts, I mean that if you are using your phone for like 4-5 days then 5-6h of SOT is quite normal for this phone but if you meant just one day then it should be about 10-11h of SOT as there will be less energy consumed by things like cellural network.
I had pretty good battery backup with POSP by AmulayaX but i found out that slow-motion isn't working so i switched to StagOS (unofficial EAS by Jimgsey) and i like this rom but i have some small issues and i consider switching to official.

5-6h SOT in 2 days. I'm not playing games I only use my phone for calls, whatsapp, emails and web navigation.
I'm on dual sim though.
I could never achieve 10h SOT in stock. Any hints for some good rom that can do that?
Thanks

U can't reach 10 h SOT by 2 days on battery.
Calculate 0,5 %/h idle drain
2 days 48h - 5 hours Active drain = 43 h idle time
43 x 0,5 = 21,5 %
so round about 20% battery is lost in idle time
so 80 % for active drain.
Charging battery at 15%
80-15 = 60% left for active drain
On mostly all roms i tested i get an active drain by 10% per hour
Wud be for u 6 hours SOT
Seems normal drain with ur MIUI
But aosp roms are so much faster and mutitasking so much better compared to MIUI.
I only got 3 GB model and there no way back to MIUI
I gave PixelE+ a try but I'm experiencing less battery backup than stock (and some random freezes too).
I'll try ION or Xiaomi.eu in the coming days.
Meanwhile what about changing kernel? Any good recommendations please?

for me changing kernel isnt a game changer
its all about SOT, screen brightness for sure and good working deep sleep.
Screen is biggest power consumer.
Kernel maybe change covernor and undervolt cpu. sure this brings a lil power. but trust me it makes just a very lil differece. u cant compare ur drain because ur usage isnt same.
if wanna judge a kernels power consumtion u have to do all the same.
watching 2 hours youtube, play same game aso with same screen brightness with same wifi state aso.
i bet theres no "big" difference.

I'm currently on Pixel and I can make 4h SOT in 2 days. I don't play games or use YouTube. Just phone calls, whatsapp, browser, emails and I'm always on dual sim.
With stock MIUI I used to reach 5-6h SOT in 2 days so with my personal usage Pixel is worse in battery life compared to stock MIUI.
I'm thinking of trying something like Xiaomi.EU now since it's based on MIUI stock...
As i say, for me there are just few differences in battery life from rom to rom.
Miui is slow and bloated compared to non miui based custom rom.
When u just installed new rom u have more drain cause of trying out the rom. U have more usage compared to ur old rom. Lets get rom settle for a while before judge.
At least all rom take power. All rom need display. I think display always takes same power in every rom when u got same brightness.
At home in ur wlan mostly watching YouTube u get better battery (maybe under 8% per hour drain maybe less) than navigating in the sun with mobile data (cost 12% per hourand more) battery

I'm with you however I'm currently on Xiaomi.eu 11 (debloated) and battery backup is much better than Pixel. I hit 6h SOT on the first run, expected to improve in the coming days after a few charging cycles.
Same usage, the exact same apps running.
